Thank you to all of the front line staff for making our stay incredible. Your attention to cleanliness and hospitality apparent in every detail. Special thanks to Tyler Lewis-Goshen. Alexis and Jackson, I hope you are recognized for your excellence.
We met some friends for a late lunch at the club and had a delightful time. The menu is very varied and I had the street tacos. We only had a short wait for a table and usually there is at least a 30 minute waiting period. Drinks were cold and good.
I’m going to make this review relatively simple; the The Lodge and Club has lost its value. My wife and I started coming here in 2017. Back then, an Ocean Front Premium Room was $299-$339. We drove up from Sarasota often, about once every two months and did three day weekends. Loved this place and thought while not cheap, it was a good value and the staff was amazing! Over the last few years, rooms have more than doubled. What was $339 a night is now $799 a night, and there isn’t any property improvements that I can notice. So two nights is almost $2K and we would easily spend another $500 at the resort in two days. So $2500 to stay at the resort for two days doesn’t have any value to us anymore with so many other options on the market. I mean, I can rent a four bedroom ocean front house, on the same beach for less a night! I LOVED the Lodge and Club! We would spend most of our disposable income here, but it’s lost it’s value and management needs to reevaluate their prices because the 125% increase in 24 months will soon come back to bite them. Or maybe it won’t … but either way we won’t be back until there is a semblance of value again.…
We were staying at the Ponte Vedra Inn and walked down to the Ponte Vedra Lodge, their other property on the beach. We were warmly welcomed in the Sea View restaurant by Buddy. What a gentleman. Kevin was our waiter and attentive and polite but not overbearing. The view was likewise outstanding! We watched an osprey catch a fish in the surf and saw 4-5 dolphins herding bait fish and eating off the second sand bar!
We spent three days at this property, and wished we had stayed longer! Incredible property right on the beach, professional and accommodating service at all levels at the highest standard, and access to amazing tennis and gym services. We were SO impressed with this property that we are already planning our return, AND looking to purchase a property in the community. This is definitely a vacation experience for discerning travellers who are looking for a high-end holiday experience!
Everything about our stay was exceptional, the setting, the service, the room, the beds, the food and drink, the pool and the beach! Special thanks to Kai, Eddy, Erick and Jonathan who made our stay even more special. Can’t wait to return to this beautiful place❤️
We were very pleased with everything at Ponte Vedra Lodge and Club for our son's wedding. The lodge and club is comfortable, has great amenities, has delicious food but best of all the staff there are kind and professional. We especially want to give a shout out to Donnell, Robert, Kai, Jonathon, and Kahadina - they were wonderful! We highly recommend this little piece of paradise and will plan to stay again when we get back to the Jacksonville area.
We love this hotel! It’s my boyfriend and I’s favorite place to stay. The property is beautiful and the room is always so clean and is wonderfully decorated. We love sitting around the outside fireplace and looking out at the ocean. The restaurant is amazing, I’ve never had a dish I didn’t love. Not to mention the view and how cozy and romantic it is! The staff is so friendly and accommodating, they make us feel at home. Robert at the front desk has been so helpful every time we come. He always goes above and beyond to make our stay as wonderful as possible, thank you Robert if you read this!
I came to the Lodge and Club with high expectations based on most reviews. Indeed, the location is wonderful and the oceanfront room is nice enough. We've also found the food and service to be good. What I'm having the most trouble with is the overall maintenance and condition of the property. Furnishings are mainly dated and stained in some locations. Carpets and rugs are stained. There's peeling paint on doors and handrails. The bathroom towels are dingy and look to have been here a long time. We got broken glass in our foot on the balcony which obviously hadn't been swept. Internet is not satisfactory. At this very moment we are dealing with a non-functioning air conditioning unit. This place is in need of some major TLC. Other misses included a lack of a place in the morning to grab a quick breakfast such as a muffin or bagel. There's coffee in the bar and a breakfast in the formal dining area, but in a resort you expect a nice grab and go. For the price paid ($500), you would expect a much nicer property. All of the issues are fixable, but it appears that the lodge is milking a reputation no longer deserved.…
I don’t usually write negative reviews, but in this case, I wish someone had given me the heads up about this over-rated motel (that’s motel with a M) so I feel obliged to pass my experience along. Let’s start with what’s good: The Lodge is in a nice location with easy access to a wonderful beach. We stayed in a beach front room and the view was amazing. The room was well appointed, not quite to the level I would expect given the price, but it was nice enough. In hindsight though, I would have stayed at the Ritz in Amelia Island for roughly half the price. Now the bad: The Lodge is literally a motel. Unless you valet, you have to self-park your car across the street and then haul your luggage upstairs along an outdoor walkway to get to your room. There are staff laundry carts sitting along the walkway and people’s dirty dishes laying outside their rooms (the ones next door to us were there all day). On my way to bed the first night, I discovered a large cockroach crawling up the wall. After 30 minutes of pursuit behind curtains and furniture, I finally killed him. The next day I reported the roach to the front desk staff who were defensive and barely acknowledged the trouble I went through crawling around on the floor with a flashlight. Their solution was a $75 credit (i.e. bounty) for the roach. After this unpleasant encounter with the front desk staff, I returned to my room to find ants crawling up the wall from a rotten hole in the baseboard. This is clearly not what you expect in a supposedly high-end room. Walking through the pool area, we noted that there were many more people around the pool and in the outdoor restaurant/bar than seemed to be staying at the motel. That’s because The Lodge is also a beach club for the locals who pay a monthly fee for access. This creates a different atmosphere than the relaxing vacation vibe we expected, and it also means the pool area reaches its capacity quickly. And if you choose to go to the beach instead, expect the hotel to charge you for beach chairs and umbrellas. At checkout, I noted that we were overcharged for 2 of the 3 nights on the bill. I questioned it and was told that the weekend rate is actually $700/night. I showed the front desk person my Expedia receipt showing a nightly charge of $600/night and he refused to adjust the bill, stating instead that he would refer it to the finance manager on Monday. The finance manager did call me on Monday and agree to issue a refund stating that there had been a technical glitch. Really? I wonder how many people don’t notice this glitch. In short, you’ve now been forewarned. Don’t stay here. P.S. After I told these stories to the finance manager, he did offer a $200 refund to compensate for our poor experience. Too little, too late for me.…
