Had a great experience at this hotel. Didnt like the villas as much as we didnt get hot water there. The executive rooms and the view from there is great. The property is beautiful. Special shoutout to Samantha as she was very helpful!
What an experience! We were at the beautiful resort (again) and they really, really were wonderful! Due to the mother of the bride getting COVID two days before a wedding, all plans CHANGED overnight! The hotel (which originally had nothing to do with the wedding) was there for everything we needed - thank you to the GM and front desk men and women (Rachel, Karen, wish I knew the other names), who were awesomely helpful in everything from allow us to have a wedding at their gazebo, assisted in all of our requests (printing, white out, whatever we asked), not to mention the amazing upgrade to the Sawgrass suite - which was STUNNING! Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking what could have been a very difficult situation and assisting us in having a beautiful wedding with beautiful memories! You are all the best and everything was so very much appreciated!…
Full disclosure: We are Marriott Bon Voy members. We booked a one-bedroom villa for one night on New Year's Eve 2020. Highs: -The villa was extremely spacious with lodge decor. We had an impressive view of the golf course and lake. See images. -The villa was in close proximity (3-minute walk) to the main building, where the lobby, pool, bar, Starbucks, and restaurant are located. Some villas are farther off. Ask for a villa by the pedestrian bridge. -The pool was open, which in this time of COVID, not every hotel has made available. -The property is obviously in close proximity to Sawgrass Country Club. Additionally, it is within walking distance of restaurants and shops (I recommend Nona Blue). Lows: The property could use some tender loving care. As a Marriott member, I am very accustomed to things on the property being well-appointed and functional. That being said: -The property charges a $25 resort fee, which seems ridiculous for the price we paid for the villa. The $25 included enhanced-internet. That was a falsehood as Netflix would not connect on either television in the villa. See images. -The bathroom showerhead and faucet were rusted over. -The bathroom vanity had not been swept under. -The fitted bedsheet had a significant tear in it. -The walls are thin between villas. I literally could hear the conversation next door clear as a bell. -We received two complimentary drinks to the hotel bar, which we indulged in, but we were amazed at the worn-down condition of the chairs in the bar. They were threadbare.…
We travelled with 2 small children and stayed in the villas in order to have more space and a small kitchen. The main hotel was very nice and looks to be recently renovated and well maintained. The villas are away from main hotel and have a separate driveway. I get it, it is covid and the staff may be limited, but here’s my impression. The grounds were pretty well worn and could use a landscaper (palms fronds everywhere, branches, etc). The villas are dog friendly, which we didn’t know before booking. Majority of guests had dogs of all sizes. We have some allergies to dogs, so beware if you are renting a room, that there will be pet dander. Overall our room was clean, but you can tell that the villas show their age and are well used by patrons with dogs. The kitchen had no supplies (dishes, paper towel) but I assume the front desk could supply if requested. The location is very close to a plaza with grocery and restaurants for take out. The pools are not heated and there is no hot tub. There is a putt-putt course, but it is pretty dilapidated, so just staying on the green is difficult. There was a resort fee(covers adult bike rental) and no parking fee! The kids club is closed, but the front desk gave the kids a craft upon check in. There is a shuttle to the beach front, and the pool there seems to be heated. Very nice beach front and toys/balls are available upon request. We’ve felt that the past few Marriott resorts we’ve stayed at could use a refresh (grounds and units). Not sure if this is due staffing issues from covid, but for instance our view at the villas included the neighbors beer bottles all over the patio lawn which were never cleaned up over our 3 day stay). Despite the minuses we had a good time there.…
This resort has pools, golf, a spa, villas, restaurants, and shops and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel personnel were very helpful and friendly. The spa "Custom" facial with Volita was not good. It was more like a light face massage than a true facial. Her "bedside manner" was unaccommodating. She was rather difficult and not helpful with questions or requests. Jennifer, the massage therapist was very nice. Kevin, the Starbucks Barista was awesome.
