After checking out of a disappointing hotel down the street, we got a reservation for 2 nights at the Marriott in Pompano Beach. This hotel was a breath of fresh air! Wonderful location, clean rooms and great amenities. But the standout of our stay was definitely the staff! Miguel, Alfonce, the entire front desk staff as well as Georgianna, Twana and the service team are second to none! Everyday was made better by the interactions and service we had from the amazing staff! We actually extended our stay because the experience was so wonderful. If you are visiting the Ft Lauderdale area, definitely visit the Marriott in Pompano Beach!

What a wonderful stay. From the time we arrived we were treated with kindness by staff. Although we had stayed in many hotels in the past for some reason we felt this warm home away from home feeling just with the additional perks that comes with being at a resort on the ocean. Everything is well located and within reach, meaning; you have easy access to the pool, the restaurant, the beach and access to all amenities. A little about the hotel for the guess to be or thinking of staying at the Marriott. The hotel has two towers both a north and south tower. It has 8 floors and most rooms will face north or south with ocean view. It has two pools. One jacuzzi, restaurant at the pool, pool bar, hotel restaurant, indoor spa and direct access to beach area. The hotel restaurant “and fish” was very nice. The food was delicious the atmosphere was delightful and our server Tamika was very friendly and her service was excellent The only disappointment was we had only booked for one night instead of two.

Another very tired Marriott. This property has seen better days and is in dire need of renovation, cleaning and a new vision. Check in awful, seems someone “in the property” changed our reservation for a check in 3 days later. Thankfully I had the app and screen shot the reservation and the app check in. Took an hour but finally got in to the “upgraded” room which was a thorough disappointment. Paint peeling from the walls and ceiling, balcony never cleaned or swept. To be very clear, the staff at the restaurant, pool, housekeeping morning breakfast and Alfonso are pretty amazing. The people are terrific but not supported by management or ownership. Also, no control of smoking or pot, mornings planned to have coffee on the balcony, forget it, stench was incredible. Evenings worse. Don’t waste your time for a ocean view balcony unless you are keen on stench of pot. We left 3 days early. Very disappointed. Beach staff, another contract like their sister property the Marriott Stanton, couldn’t care less about clients. Another property owned by Key International, quite a trend on property ownership. Will never stay again

Dear 561JohnF, I wanted to reach out to you as your feedback is valuable. It is important to me that we have our guests leave happy and I really regret that in this instance we have failed to give you a flawless experience. I would like to apologize for condition of the hotel. As the General Manager, I do take your comments seriously and I am continuously working on making improvements. We will be undergoing a full renovation next April and will address your concerns noted in your review. It certainly is not indicative of our usual high standards of service and we do strive to deliver that Marriott experience at every encounter. I do hope that I will have an opportunity to welcome you back. I certainly am sadden that you left you with a negative impression. I wanted to re-assure you we put everything in the works to deliver on our service ethos. Reach out to me in person when your travels bring you back to Pompano Beach, I would love to look after you!

Our second time here- it is a well-located, smallish beachside property for a staycation with our Girl Scouts troop. It was a busy weekend with three weddings going on, and we had a long wait to get into our room but the manager, Alfonce McKinney, the front desk, housekeeping and restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating. Having worked in five star hotels in the past, it was great to see how Mr. McKinney stepped up alongside the staff and handled the pressure of the busy environment with a smile and positive energy. Our oceanfront suite was a nice size with a great view and expansive balcony. The property itself needs some TLC, here and there things are worn, and Marriott should invest in new sofa beds which have foam mattresses as opposed to the uncomfortable box spring over metal bars our daughters slept on. In spite of this inconvenience we will surely return because of the location, and the management and staff who made all the difference.

After looking at the reviews I was nervous, however I decided to take the leap and stay. I am sooo excited we did. Michael took great care of us during out stay. We checked in late due to tropical storm and he made sure we had a great room in the North tower on the 9th floor. The ocean view was amazing and the balcony in our room was even better. The room was spacious. The bathroom was huge with great hot water and water pressure. The king bed was amazing! I am a Marriott member so I have the free morning breakfast and parking. This resort offers the best resort accommodations. The breakfast was a large buffet and had everything you wanted with the option of omelets. All for free, of course we gave great tips. We also receive daily drink vouchers and the daily drinks were awesome. The property can tell is maybe a little older but not old. The lobby is amazing and updates and gym is pristine with all the equipment you may want but the view is why you work out! Two pools and complimentary beach chairs... Most of all the service was amazing. Everyone was attenative and just amazing, sweet, and courteous individuals. I know the other reviews have given this place negative reviews and I guess it depends on your view. However if you want a nice hotel, with nice people and great resort accommodation....LOOK NO FURTHER...

First thing is price. The cost of the room is NOTHING compared to all the other costs in staying there. There is a $34 per night (plus taxes and tips) for Valet parking. It is mandatory. You cannot park your own car so add about 45 bucks to the room rate. No food or drinks free. You can't even get a free cup of coffee in the morning. The restaurant in the hotel is ok but expensive. Breakfast buffet is $22 per person and that does not even include a beverage! Front desk was not helpful. Requested an upper floor room with my advance reservation and got 2nd floor (lowest floor in the tower). 2nd morning I requested additional pillows; never got them. The door to the balcony was damaged and It took all my strength to wrestle it open. My wife could not open it. Maintenance came up and said "we need parts that are on back order (rollers)". I asked them to clean and lubricate the track to make it a little easier to open. They never came back. I had to go to the store to buy some WD40 which helped the situation a little. On the 3rd day, we asked for housekeeping to please refresh our towels and empty the trash. At 1:30 in the afternoon this had still not been done so I went to the front desk and asked them (again) to have this done by 3:30 as my wife and I expected to be back in the room to get cleaned up for the evening. 3:30 and still no maid service. I went down to the front desk 3 times in 30 minutes asking for the towels. FINALLY at around 4:15 we got towels and I emptied the trash myself and put it in the hallway. For all our troubles, the Front Desk gave us 3 "drinks on us" coupons and a promise to "credit the resort fee of $20 per night (remember the intro paragraph?)" A little later my wife went down to the bar to get us a couple drinks and was told they were only god for the "Specialty drink of the day!" which was a disgusting drink that I would never want. The next day when we went to check out, the resort fees were back on the bill. I had also scheduled a massage and was told that the price was "X" ($125 I think). On the bill it was over $150 as they added a tip automatically without my knowledge and I paid the the massage therapist a very nice tip. This place is poorly run and is not worth the $400/night that it winds up costing you. Never again.

Accidentally forgot several items of clothing in my room on checkout. I reported the forgotten items on the same day before anyone was assigned to the room. I reported exactly where I left them. First I was told the room was already booked again. Then, I was told it was empty and someone checked and the room had already been cleaned. I was then told someone would call me if the items were sent to lost and found. No call. I called several times over several days. Got a different response each time about access to lost and found, investigation, housekeeping, etc...and was told I would receive a follow up call. A week later, still no follow up call. I had to call again, no answer, I was told I would hear back via text. No text. I had to reach out myself again. I received a reply text that the investigation was complete and the items were not found and they are not responsible for lost items. Well they might not be responsible, but since only the staff had access to the locked room and the items were not found, it doesn't exactly earn Marriott staff high ratings for integrity. Don't leave anything of value in your room during or after your stay!!! Don't expect prompt replies from management or appropriate follow up for concerns, even if they say they'll contact you - they won't.

Yes we understand this is an older facility but my biggest issue was with guest services. When we pulled up the valet was playing on his phone and ignored us until we walked by then he said “ hey I need your keys”. Not very welcoming. The front desk wasn’t any better. The speakers where right over our heads and the desk person , Michael was very soft spoken and neither my wife nor I could hear anything he said. The resort fees get you two beach towels and two beach chairs. Nothing else. If you want an umbrella that’s an extra $25 a day. The bar staff was rude and ignored us and others when we tried to get drinks. Not up to Marriott standards for sure.

Hotel lobby is decent. Valet parking is $35/night. Elevators are small but get you to your room quickly and I never had to wait long for one. The rooms are old, and the mattress needs to be thown out- at least 10 years past it’s prime. It was extremely hard and definitely not worth the price point or value of Marriott. The doors were almost impossible to open and close to the porch. The king suite was very spacious, but the curtains and decor are dated and dirty. Overall, I was disappointed with this hotel. The views are amazing, but the hotel needs a refresh.

My husband and I stayed in Feb 2022 and again this last weekend. Both times we have received great service, especially by the beach staff, William and Joshua. We chose not to spend anything but sleeping hours in our room (we are in Florida - so much to see), so for what we needed, the room was fine. Never really ate at the restaurant, except 1 quesadilla, which was delicious. But, Joshua and especially William, made our stay the best! Very attentive to the needs of guests on the beach when it comes to food and beverages. And William made sure the other servers knew who we were and to "take care of us". Made us feel special. Valet was always responsive with getting our car and the staff in general were very friendly and accommodating. William recommended the Lucky Fish tiki bar at the Pompano Beach pier (within walking distance) as a place to get a great margarita for Cinco de Mayo. Excellent recommendation! Pompano is not located in the heart of the "entertainment" area of Ft Lauderdale or Pompano Beach, but it's a great place ON the beach! Definitely will go back!
