spent the weekend July 2021, lovely location, clean and recently renovated. apparently new manager in place, who is certainly not a people person, and though he may be a good maintenance and cleaner, his customer service is non existent. From past reviews appears that previous manager was great, and so were owners, sadly this is not the case now. Bring your own kettle and coffee stirrers, and certainly don't request viewing some of the other empty rooms, with the intention of booking and returning, but in a different room.

We stayed at the La Cabanon Motel from August 13 to August 16. 2 days before we got an email the check in was from 3pm to 7pm and that we would have to contact the property to make arrangements for a late check in. Christopher was great about accommodating our late check in 9pm.
We stayed in a Superior Studio, 1 King Bed, Oceanfront that had a great view of the beach. The room layout was typical of a motel room however the King Bed was huge. It seemed bigger than our king bed at home. Kitchen was small but had all that was needed to fix simple breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plates, cups and utensils for 4 people. Mid-size fridge, toaster and microwave.
Bathroom had a very nice walk in shower, but the hot water took a minute or 2 to get going. Beach was about 100 yards from the door of our room.

Now the problems, AC air handler was mounted on the wall and would make a painful low moaning noise every 2 ¼ minutes. I asked about this and was told that, “it had a water pump in it to drain the water out of the unit and there was not much that could be done about the noise”. After the first night I got used to the noise. Ants, there were quite a few of them in the room all small black ants that did not seem to have much clue as to what and where they were going. See photos of the ants. Property is very quiet but there is a public beach park within walking distance that seemed to attract homeless people at night. The area has many restaurants, a Publix and CVS are nearby. There is one place that you must try out Dandee Donut Factory. The donuts are to die for. All in all, we would give this motel a 9/10 and would stay there again.

Thank you for staying with us - and we appreciate the kind words. I wish that there was something we could do about the A/C - unfortunately that is the deal with the units that we have. The ants - this year have been terrible and we do our best to keep them at bay. To the few homeless people at night - it may just be a condition of the open beach and being right next to the public park. Little can be done about that. Thankfully they are respectful and don't cross our gates or bother our guest. Thank you again and we hope that you're able to stay again soon.

So glad I made the decision to stay here. If you are looking for a big high rise motel... This is NOT it. Everything you need is here. Oceanfront, salt water pool, gas grill, lounge chairs, tables with umbrellas, floats, boogie boards, chairs and loungers for the beach, beach towels, some units have kitchens. We prefer that so we can have groceries delivered and have food available to munch on when we didn't wanna go out. All the untinsels, dishes, cookware, baking dishes, toaster, extra things such as hairdryer, soaps, shampoos are all part of it. We didn't drive and had plenty of places within walking distance to eat. Uber was available if we needed to go further. Also there is a free ride Circuit that will take you up and down the ocean Blvd. Our flight was delayed 2 hrs and Beth (manager)called to make sure we'd be coming. Being able to speak with management personally is comforting with all the stress that goes into planing and making sure trip plans go according. When we come to this area this will be our come to place. Stayed June 2022. Best rates I found and I do alot of research. Not sure about the negative reviews that 2as absolutely not our experience.

My partner and I had a great time at Le Cabanon Motel the other week. You cannot get a better location - literally steps from the ocean.

Free parking and no resort fee is a rare in the Fort Lauderdale area so those are added bonuses.

The owner/manager (?), Christopher, answered all my emails leading up to the trip and was very responsive. We were able to check in early which was great after a day of traveling.

The only thing I didn’t 100% love is the lack of housekeeping service. I understand that it’s a very small establishment, but the room can get dirty quickly (being on the beach and all). Also, the addition of a hot tub (or warmer pool) would be the icing on the cake :)

Overall it was a great, relaxing stay and I would recommend Le Cabanon to everyone.

My husband and I booked this small hotel for our 25th anniversary in combination with visiting my husband's 89 year old mother. We were aware of the no visitors policy as is in many other hotels, generally indicating that you don't bring guests into your room. We walked back from breakfast with our mom and my husband went upstairs to use the bathroom before we were to take mom home. It was raining a bit, so I found a seat for her on the outside patio adjacent to the pool. The woman manager came around the corner and using an aggressive and rude tone, said there were no visitors allowed. I started to tell her that this was our mom, and explain our situation and that we would be leaving soon. She said "this is a quaint hotel and we want to keep it that way" and then went on to say we could not sit where we were sitting because it belonged to the guests in that room. The manager attitude was hostile and rude, an unusual stance for someone in the hospitality industry. I was pretty shook up by the way we were spoken to when it could have been handled with a polite conversation and we would be on our way as we planned. My husband went to speak to them thinking we could clear things up and was told that they really didn't care if we left, didn't care if we ever came back and that the owner (who they claim is a multimillionaire Indian man) also doesn't care and has the property only as a "hobby", doesn't care if he makes any money. The manager went on to call my husband a "rule breaker". All this for bringing our elderly mom onto the pool deck for a couple minutes to get her out of the rain! There are a couple other reviews very similar to this one and the couple writes back that they are not telling the truth...please believe that we are telling the truth and don't waste your money and reward this couple for their poor behavior. In addition to being the managers from hell, the property was not clean and things were in disrepair: the blinds were broken - you have to close and open them by hand and the shower had mold in it. The ice machine worked when we checked in, but not the next day.

I am sorry but you are not telling the truth. at check in you were told that we do not allow visitors which you stated was ok and that you liked the rules. you proceeded to bring a visitor, in which i told you no visitors were allowed. we never had a conversation about who owns the property, and this place being a hobby, by the way an Indian man does not own it! you are just upset about the fact that we mentioned something to you, and you couldnt have a visitor stay. the only conversation we had, in which i specifically told you, that if you would have stopped at the front desk and said something we would have definately allowed everyone to use the bathroom as we are not monsters. please sir if you do not like the rules then say so, but you do not have to lie, and make things up that didnt happen. I encourage people to go to expedia and read those reviews as they accurately reflect what its like to stay here

The owners took a wonderful location and completely ruined the experience by not bothering to clean the rooms. They didn't have housekeeping into clean and being on the beach the room had sand, along with sand fleas. We had to wait a long time to get checked in and then staff weren't wearing masks or social distancing.I would never recommend staying here.

We are certainly sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. When any of our guests check in we ask them if they need housekeeping and that we are there to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. Many opt to just have towels changed - have us clean their rooms daily or simply leave them along. When you arrived this same offer was given to you. It was our understanding that you just wanted new towel every day. To the sand - you're right - we're on the beach and the beach is full of sand - way out of our control and something you should have been understanding to. We also have a shower where you are able to rinse the sand from your feet and body - it's not something that we can control - however each room is supplied with a broom and dust pan to help you also keep the sand in control. To the mask and social distancing - we always wear a mask in the office - as well as when we take you to your room. While guests are on the patio we do not require that they wear masks but ask that they social distance as best they can. It appears that you came on a busy weekend and many of the guests were also from the same family. Again, we're sorry that you had a unwelcome experience - we would never want that.

We received a text the morning of our arrival to let us know we could check in early (how nice is that?!) but our flight arrival time did not allow for that. Upon arrival Ian and Miya were there with big smiles. They live on the property and were available most anytime to assist or answer questions. After sunrise on the deck with fresh coffee, we made breakfast each morning. The kitchen has all of the basics utensils, even some coffee, cream and sugar! The pool area was clean and quiet.

The pier, shops and many dining options are a short walk away. Houstons for dinner on the water was lovely. Le Cabanon is not fancy, but it has everything you need to for a relaxing get a way, we will definitely be back!

We were lucky to book this place last minute because there was a cancellation. The location on the beach is A+ and the views of the ocean are great given the absence of vegetation in front of the motel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Good pick!

First, this is not a Marriott or a Hilton, it is a nine room motel directly on the beach. It is clean and well maintained.
Pros: location, rooms are clean, kitchen is well stocked, bed is comfortable, pool is big and very clean, plenty of lounge chairs and they are in excellent condition,
Cons: check in area is small and needs work, this is not a deal breaker.
Management is new and needs to learn more about the area. He relaxes and opens up once you talk to him. Again, not a deal breaker.
Overall, my wife and I enjoyed a very relaxing stay and would stay here again.

This is the first review I’ve ever written about a hotel. I’ve been around the world and have never had such a horrible hospitality experience. I arrived in the office with a smile on my face and was greeted with such rudeness that it literally stunned me. Without getting into the details, I suggest strongly to anyone who is reading this to avoid this hotel at all costs. Thank you and I wish you all a great trip.
