We camped there in May 2022 and were delighted with our site. It is a smaller campground and also has cabins at the site. Everything there is exceptionally clean including the bath. It is evident the owners take great pride in their establishment. Serene beauty surrounds you. Location is a short drive to Copper Harbor, golfing, and the other attractions. We look forward to returning!

The room was very nice. bathroom was very well appointed (probably recently updated). Amenities were just what we expected. Owners are wonderful and gracious. We would love to stay with them again. It is nice to be able to find places that accept we behaved pets.

What a gem! Owners are friendly and helpful. Campground is clean and quiet. Small campground is appealing. Sites are gravel and generally level. I want to keep it a secret but can’t! Love this place and highly recommend it. Fishing was pretty good too!!!

This small privately owned resort/campground is located in a nicely wooded area within a short drive to many beautiful sights in the Keweenaw; Bete Gris, Copper Harbor, Estivant Pines, Eagle Harbor, Mt Bohemia, Brockway Mountain, Central Mine Ghost Town, the Delaware Mine, and so much more. There is a small convenience store a short walk from the campground and Lac LaBelle State Harbor. There are cabin rentals in addition to campsites. We camped at Wilderness on 2 separate occasions, once with electric only (site #13) and once with full hook-up (site #3). Both times we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. All of the sites appear to be fairly level. The majority of sites are wooded and offer a good amount of privacy. Perhaps a couple of the full hook up sites are a bit close together but not a big deal (in my opinion). The bathrooms (2) and shower (1) are handicap accessible and super clean. The trash (both inside the bathrooms and the outside dumpster) is regularly emptied. In addition to the dump station and fresh water supply, there is a fish cleaning station where those who tent can easily wash their dishes. There are brochures and some camping essentials in the office. The owners, Rick & Michelle, are so accommodating, so friendly and such overall awesome hosts! (I watched as Michelle went to each site, after it had been vacated, and hand washed the picnic tables!). A peaceful, quiet campground in a beautiful area. We highly recommend this place!

My family and I stayed in cabin 1 and my dad camped with his camper in camping location 10. We both had an amazingly pleasant stay. The location is perfect with a short walk to the lake. Short walk to great store - “Bear Belly”. Very quiet but still close to Copper Harbor, Eagle Harbor, and Eagle River. There are many more trails plus waterfalls within minutes of driving. The owners were super nice and accommodating. Highly recommended! Would love to return!

Exceptionally clean and well-equipped motel room, combined with friendly, very accommodating and helpful hosts. Had a long weekend visit over the July 4th holiday. Lac La Belle is a little distance from the action in Copper Harbor, which was actually a plus and made for a very peaceful stay.

Customer service alone gets this place 10/10 in my book. Rick and his team went above and beyond to accommodate my friends and me on our short notice snowboarding trip. We booked through "wilderness resort llc" but because of the consideration of our hosts I decided to rate this resort on as many travel websites I could find. Thank you, Rick, and I look forward to enjoying the beauty of the UP at your locations for many years to come.

With how nice the owners were to coordinate with in advance of our stay I'd love to be able to provide a positive review, but unfortunately cannot. Note this review is for TENT camping. We stayed July 2019. In short, the campground is under construction which was fine, but in my opinion they are prematurely booking the sites. Further, the owners, as nice as they are, don't have the customer service skills and agility to manage situations that most certainly will arise given the premature booking. We showed up during the check in window to find a construction vehicle at our site moving around thick piles of dirt. We didn't think much of it and anticipated that we'd be moved to another site. Much to our surprise, when we brought this to the attention of the owner and walked to the site together, he expected us to stay in the freshly tilled muddy site with the construction vehicle parked on the side. It wasn't until we asked to move to one of the several other vacant sites that it was accommodated. Other notes, shower is temporarily housed in the sauna. Bathroom is a porter potty. Sites are more set up for RVs, so tent campers will likely want two people to move the picnic table off the grass to the large sized gravel in order to set the tent up on the grass. Pros: quiet, pretty setting, good wifi, good for fully equipped RVs, nice owners.

We stayed in the motel room and it was very clean. It was just what we needed as a home base. The owners were very friendly and after hours checkin was a breeze. Very close to great fishing, lovely beaches, and Copper Harbor. We will be back.

We used the 30/50 Amp campsite location and had a great time. There is no Verizon cell coverage in the area, which was a nice retreat, but there is good wifi for any communication or web browsing that is needed. The site accomodations were good. The location is off the lake, which helps with the bugs, but it's a short walk to the lake, or marina store as well. The price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend the Wilderness Resort.
