Exceptionally clean and well-equipped motel room, combined with friendly, very accommodating and helpful hosts. Had a long weekend visit over the July 4th holiday. Lac La Belle is a little distance from the action in Copper Harbor, which was actually a plus and made for a very peaceful stay.
Customer service alone gets this place 10/10 in my book. Rick and his team went above and beyond to accommodate my friends and me on our short notice snowboarding trip. We booked through "wilderness resort llc" but because of the consideration of our hosts I decided to rate this resort on as many travel websites I could find. Thank you, Rick, and I look forward to enjoying the beauty of the UP at your locations for many years to come.
With how nice the owners were to coordinate with in advance of our stay I'd love to be able to provide a positive review, but unfortunately cannot. Note this review is for TENT camping. We stayed July 2019. In short, the campground is under construction which was fine, but in my opinion they are prematurely booking the sites. Further, the owners, as nice as they are, don't have the customer service skills and agility to manage situations that most certainly will arise given the premature booking. We showed up during the check in window to find a construction vehicle at our site moving around thick piles of dirt. We didn't think much of it and anticipated that we'd be moved to another site. Much to our surprise, when we brought this to the attention of the owner and walked to the site together, he expected us to stay in the freshly tilled muddy site with the construction vehicle parked on the side. It wasn't until we asked to move to one of the several other vacant sites that it was accommodated. Other notes, shower is temporarily housed in the sauna. Bathroom is a porter potty. Sites are more set up for RVs, so tent campers will likely want two people to move the picnic table off the grass to the large sized gravel in order to set the tent up on the grass. Pros: quiet, pretty setting, good wifi, good for fully equipped RVs, nice owners.…
We stayed in the motel room and it was very clean. It was just what we needed as a home base. The owners were very friendly and after hours checkin was a breeze. Very close to great fishing, lovely beaches, and Copper Harbor. We will be back.
We used the 30/50 Amp campsite location and had a great time. There is no Verizon cell coverage in the area, which was a nice retreat, but there is good wifi for any communication or web browsing that is needed. The site accomodations were good. The location is off the lake, which helps with the bugs, but it's a short walk to the lake, or marina store as well. The price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend the Wilderness Resort.
