Flew down on Southwest from Nashville for Mother’s Day Weekend and second time staying at this property. Equally impressive both times. Simple, clean, and a lot of little things that remind me of days gone by.

Feels like a family run business; friendly, and helpful. Right on the beach, two covered patios, gas grills if you choose to use them, clean pool, and a short 100yrd walk to our chair/umbrella set-up (4 loungers w/umbrellas for 3days $130).

The water still a bit chilly upon entry but tolerable, especially once you go all-in! Today has been absolutely perfect, weather, water, and family fun on the beach! Will stay here again and happy to recommend to anyone looking to enjoy PCB!

First time to stay here - we loved it! The suite on the beach side was perfect for our family. The view was incredible! Everything was super clean and updated. Beds were comfy and giant walk-in closet was a bonus. Hot tub was hot and the pool was warm - both were cleaned and checked frequently during the day. Employees were friendly and helpful. Lobby had a great selection of snacks/drinks and the store items were reasonably priced. Elevators were fast and easy to access. Parking was easier than expected, even with no vacancies. It was a great week. We will definitely stay here again.

This trip and stay to the Palmetto was a little different for the wife and I. Usually we rent cars and take the entire family. This time it was just the wife and I flying in and staying the week. Palmetto offers free shuttle service to and from the airport if you stay with them. $50/$100 savings at least. Tip your drivers because they are great. Check-in was easy and in our room 20 minutes after landing! If you are of the older side of life and just a little fearful of stepping out of your comfort zone.. this is the place to do it folks.. We rented a room with full kitchen / beach side with balcony. Well worth the extra. Grocery store is located right across the street. stocked up the first day and was set. NOTHING more beautiful than watching the sun set from the Palmetto private beach and snacking on munchies and drinks. I am telling you... this can be a trip for folks not wanting to spend a lot on money and just want to get away to a beautiful / safe / almost like home hotel.. Family owned since the 70's and talked to an employee who has been there 30 years.... That DOES not happen in todays world unless the ownership is doing something right = taking care of guest and taking care of their staff. There was not one little thing that we requested like extra towels/ razor / later check out due to flight out time that was not met with a smile. Trust yourself and trust Palmetto to make it a trip of a life time. Trolley stop right in front, $4 unlimited per day Driver STEVE on #7 is the best!. Went to the pier one day. Restaurants for dinner & Thomas Donuts. YOU dont need to rent a car if you just go outside your comfort zone a little. Palmetto is the place to make this happen. 7th stay and planning the next already....

This is not an up-to-date establishment and the employees were less than helpful and appeared to not enjoy their jobs. They won't deliver item to your room if/when they are needed. They did not come clean our room once during our stay, even after calling to ask that they clean it 2 days into the stay. They didn't come and empty the trash one day and we had to call multiple days to get clean towels.

The place is more like an old condo or motel building, decorated in 70s-80s college dorm decor and furnishings. The couch is not comfortable so don't plan I'm using it for the pull out bed or to lay on. The AC was wall units and the one in the bedroom did not work very well but the one in the living area worked fine. The bathrooms are extremely tiny, the shower curtain basically lays in your lap when sitting on the toilet, and they did not provide any hotel toiletries (with out calling down and asking for them).

The beach side section (where we stayed) does have a beautiful beach view from the room but they do try to sell you the section across the (busy) road with absolutely no view.

They don't help with connecting with reputable excursions or local activities or restaurants. They have a third party company located right outside on their beach section and the young man their was exceptionally rude and tried to charge us and extra 10% to pay with a credit card to rent one of the beach chairs with umbrellas (btw you can just go to Winn Dixie across the street and get a $5 beach towel and sit in the same area ll day), the business also shuts down at 4:30 so you aren't even paying for the full day.

It is with much sadness and deep regret that I write this review. This property has been our family's favorite property in PCB for over 30 years now. It is family owned but the family "operated" portion has fallen to the wayside & it has really shown over the last few years, with this last trip being the worst I've ever experienced. Know that you will not get any type of room cleaning service during the length of your stay, which with nearly everyone being short staffed, could possibly be understandable. However, having to beg for daily supplies such as toilet paper, towels, washcloths is not acceptable. Upon check in, the room did not seem to have been adequately cleaned or prepared for a new guest. Refrigerator in room was not working and we graciously waited until the next day for a replacement to be delivered, but by that time, we lost all of the food we had purchased for the week. The clientele has drastically gone downhill and that is very noticeable. The property has always been a no pet property, but our last 2 trips we have seen everything from yorkies to German shepherds on site. The property also states they are 100% non-smoking, but that is not the case either. So many smokers & we were not even able to take our young children out to enjoy the balcony due to the HEAVY aroma of marijuana smoke constantly blowing our way. Another situation is this...many guests here are also return guests and love to threaten that they personally know the "owner" & therefore have been given the ok to do as they please, even at the inconsideration of the other hotel guests that have paid the same nightly rate as they have. Anyone who has stayed at this property within the last 10-15 or more years would be aware of who the owners are, however, I do not like nor appreciate the "I know the Hughes' or Patty, so I can hold lounge chairs all day, or I can smoke pot, or I can do as I please"! There was also a boil water advisory in town during our visit, and not one staff member mentioned this to us, so thank goodness we saw the city warning signs. As much as I truly hate to say this, all good things must come to an end and since the "family operated" portion is now gone, we will not be staying on this property again, but will now look for our new home while in town. We will deeply miss this place that used to be a hidden GEM but has now gotten too big for its own good, to the point that they can no longer keep up with their demand and provide a safe, clean, enjoyable family environment.

We have stayed here several times and this was our first trip since we retired and moved into another state. We brought our 2 granddaughters for their first beach stay away from their parents (aged 8 and 10).

Our room was a deluxe 2 room suite complete with a full kitchen and dishwasher. Our gulf front view was superb and we were on the 2nd floor. The main room was very large and had comfortable furniture. Despite being directly above the pool, it was very quiet due to excellent soundproof windows.

The grounds are beautiful and the pool area is always clean. Scott, their maintenance man has been there for as long as I can remember. He starts early in the morning and hoses everything down. He often washes the gutters and waterline tile of the pool. Believe the pictures of the clear pool water. It actually is prettier than the pictures indicate.

It is a short walk to the gulf waters and the excellent beach. When returning, there is a shower to remove the sand. Very convenient and just nicely arranged.

I know the owners and recognized Rick when we checked in. His daughters are generally on site and someone in the family stays at the motel each night. It is a joy to see dedicated people maintaining the best family owned hotel on the beach.

Parking can be a challenge if you want to be on the gulf side of the road. The city is doing work at the "Y" and it will eventually be a roundabout.

Our granddaughters loved the beach and pool! They are very accomplished swimmers and both the gulf and the pool kept them busy for the 5 days. There is sufficient chairs and loungers around the pool.

There are several pavilions with BBQ gas grills along with a bar at one of them. The pavilions are located on each side of the property. One one side there are a few games and also a shuffleboard court.

Simply hard to beat for the location, cleanness, and kind owners. They have found a formula that makes the Palmetto Inn and Suites the best on the beach.

This place was CLEAN!!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We had a queen suite. Kitchen area was nice with a full size stove, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, table and 4 chairs. Balcony was nice, the view was amazing. Pool was heated and clean. Grounds are well kept. They have a nice hot tub and a seasonal tiki bar. Beds were clean, comfortable and linens were nice. Hot water was plentiful and pressure was great. Towels were thick and clean. There is a door that separates living area from sleeping area (which we like). Elevators are super fast, we never had to wait even a full minute. Parking was good. Even if you had to park across the street it was a very short walk. They need to update the pics on their website. Rooms have been updated and much nicer than the pics show. The only complaint I have is the sleeper sofa. If you are planning on using it you better rethink this plan. It’s old, really old and super uncomfortable. The living room furniture desperately needs replaced (couch and chair). The rest of the room appears new and updated, I’m hoping these items are next on the list. They were clean just old and worn. They are a vinyl type material so they can be wiped clean.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! The only thing that was a little tough was parking but it really wasn’t a big deal for us at all. We stayed in a standard room on the gulf side and it was much bigger than we were expecting. The pool both outdoor and inside was great! We saw someone out every morning cleaning the outdoor pool and the area around it. They have grills near the pool area and also a small bar out from the pool. Our kids also enjoyed the playground on the beach in front of the hotel. Another thing that we all enjoyed was the ice cream they have available to purchase in the lobby near the pool. The staff were very helpful and we made some wonderful friends. A lot of people we met had been coming here for years. Very family friendly and we felt safe in the area. We also like that the beach was not super crowded in front of the hotel. When it came time for us to check out we were not ready to leave and was able to extend our stay a couple days with no problem. We will be back!

Worst experience I've ever experienced while on vacation.
We have spent the last four years visiting this location for our Memorial Day weekend/week holiday.
On our second day here my children asked for ice cream (the hand scooped kind) and because it was after 9PM, there was a sign that said if we needed assistance, to ask the front desk. Well, we did as such, and instead of getting any assistance, we were told that sign shouldn't be there, the employee proceeded to walk over and flip the sign on its face, and walk back over to the front desk with no assistance.
The next day, we (family of 7) ran out of towels, and we had our son go ask the front desk for some. Instead of getting bath towels, they proceeded to tell him to get the towels out of the outside beach towel slot.
My brother that just so happening to be staying across the street in the other building has had to deal with the smell of marijuana and cigarettes since their first night here, mind you, of a family with young children that DO NOT SMOKE.
Then today, while enjoying my 27th birthday on the patio, three young children of my family were screaming over the balcony 20 feet from us 6 adults, because there were fireworks going off down the beach and an individual claiming herself to be the owner, proceeded to whisper unknown things to our children. Of course it's probably the fact that our children were screaming, but instead of speaking to any one of the six adults that were 20 feet away from the three young children, she decided to whisper to our young children.
We have taught our children to not speak to strangers. Instead of addressing the situation like an adult and asking us to handle our children she went about it in the worst possible way anyone could have. For being an owner of a business, you choose to whisper into our children's ears than to speak to the present adults?
When confronting her about whispering to our children and asked for her to stop talking to the children and to talk to us, she continued to whisper to the children and ignore us.
If you are the owner of a business you should know better than to whisper to one's child, you should know that accommodating your guests for their best experience should be your number one priority. Between me and my family, we spent on the upper hand of almost $7000 for our stay with THIS BUSINESS for not only you to ruin my birthday, and my children's happiness, but my entire vacation stay.

We had never stayed here before and really enjoyed it! It was a great value, and we loved our corner room so we could see the ocean out of two windows instead of just one. The balcony was nice, too! This is definitely not a “modern” or updated hotel, but it has everything you need for a basic stay, and for the price, we were very pleased! If you have a sensitive neck, bring your own pillow, as these pillows were a bit uncomfortable. The walls are also very thin…I could hear every word from the guests in the next room over. Loved the size of the fridge, which we used to store breakfast items. We will definitely return!
