We paid $687 for 3 nights (tues-fri), normally cheaper nights for hotels, and the quality of the room did not match price at all. First, the door was hard to open for the entrance, the bathroom door was hard to close, toilet clogged twice, (we're adults and know how to use a toilet, wasn't our fault), no microwave, (yes we booked room with one) the refrigerator did not work, the freezer worked as defrost mode, it was cool, didn't freeze the first night, was frozen all of second day, and then back to cold but not freezing temperatures, (nothing wrong with gasket, no the door wasn't left open and the correct setting was set), the small ac window unit that was new apparently worked the same way as freezer even though it was set at 68 with no timer and we didn't run in during the day because we weren't there during daylight hours. We turned it off when we left there after first night, turned it back on at 8 pm, around 1 am it showed it was still on, not on a timer, and it was NOT frozen, just wasn't blowing anymore. We had to turn it off and back on and it worked again. Ridiculous, same thing happened the next night. The sliding back doors had bathroom curtains hanging over them, the curtains didn't even cover the whole opening, so the light they had for the pool area just shined into our room all night. The floors were new but filthy with sand which we excused because well, we are on a beach however sand doesn't turn your feet black. There was a big mirror on the wall that was hanging crooked, big time, couldn't adjust it correctly without tools and well that ain't our job. The picture of the room we booked and the detailed listing showed & read that we had a dining table with chairs and that dish/cookware was provided... it was not provided (we had a coffee mug, a spoon, a fork, and 3 rinky dink plates) and we had one chair, no table. We had a hard time getting new towels even though we turned in the dirty ones. Check in is half a mile up the road, everyones check in time is 4-6 and that front desk staff is responsible to check-in 3 or 4 different hotels. Half of the customers rooms were not ready, they only had one lady working the front desk at first, she was RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL, then a second lady came to help thankfully, i don't think she was rude but i barely heard her speak. I only said thankfully because finally the line was moving faster. We waited 30-40 mins to check in. The only thing palm grove had going for it was the BEACH!! Serious attention SEAHEAVEN, palm grove is bringing you down, i don't know about the other places you own, but get rid of palm grove or i STRONGLY ADVISE you put A TON of money into the place but while you're at it, like i said your front desk service is no good either, so replace them! Finally, one more thing, the deposit said 10 DOLLARS PER ACCOMMODATION would be charged at properry BUT 40 DURING SPRING BREAK. It was not spring break and well at first I thought maybe 10 was a typo when the clerk said i owed 100 for security deposit but the odds of 40 being a typo as well is rather misleading!

I just wanted to leave this message due to we used to know the owners of Peeks Motel. We’d travel from Alabama and stay in the 80’s. I’m sad it’s no longer pink💕. The owner’s daughter picked that color to help it stand out. I’m glad to see it hasn’t been torn down and it’s nice to see a bit of history preserved.

The only reason I tried this place is because it is pet friendly and on the beach. Pay the extra to go somewhere else, this place sucks. The management was useless in helping with the reservation that got messed up through a third party booking site. After everything we tried we never even got a room with a king bed even though the on shift manager said the room had one. The pull out couch looked like a body had decomposed on it and it was the biggest bed in the multi room suite. There weren’t even any sheets or linens for it.

This is probably our 10th stay at the Palm Grove Hotel in the last 3/4years and it still does not disappoint. We stay here because the rooms are cheaper, the beach is right there, the arcade across the street has the best breakfast ever, and the restaurant next door has a parmasean crusted flounder that is to die for, and then several shops, putt putt, and go karts within walking distance so there's no need to drive anywhere really. The Palm Grove is older and has greeted many hurricanes over the years which have helped with the wear and tear on her but they have updated the rooms since last year and they're a great place to stay. My only complaint is not having office staff on site, and the thin walls made for an interesting wake up alarm at 4am from the baby next door, turning the ac on drowned that out though and I went right back to sleep. We met David (the manager of housekeeping I believe) and he could not have been nicer to us, were a hot mess and locked ourselves out of our room and he graciously came to our rescue and let us in as well as swapped our towels out and had a mini chat with us about where he was from in Jamaica because my son liked his accent so much. All in all you get what you pay for and if you're expecting 5 star but pay a 2 star rate you won't enjoy it, we love the Palm Grove because we like saving money and being able to do more activities. I took 1 star away from what would be a 5 start due to the thin walls and no on-site office.

The room were were given and the ground of this hotel were disgusting! The room we received was not equitable to what was advertised and on this site. This was an excellent example of FALSE ADVERTISING. If you have any standards regarding hotel cleanliness, upkeep and sanitary living conditions, DO NOT STAY HERE! The room was akin to putting dirty mattress on an equally dirty floor in a abandoned home. This is with the inclusion of the homeless sleeping on the pool deck. The pool looked like dirty toilet water.
