My husband and I stayed at Shores of Panama from January 22 until March 6. We enjoyed our visit until they decided to charge us a resort fee of $60 the end of February threatening to tow our vehicle if we did not pay it. If that wasn’t bad enough, the whole time we were there, the pool/hot tub area outdoors was under construction and entirely roped off - non useable. We complained about it but it all fell on deaf ears saying they couldn’t do anything about it. We were told it was the owners association we needed to contact but there was no way to contact them. We will never return. They take your money and “run”.

First, we had a lovely and large unit booked through VRBO. Very pleased, and the price was great for a condo on the beach! Great view on 13th floor. Easy virtual check-In. Great location. Elevators and parking deck were a challenge but this is to be expected this time of year. Two tiki bars. Food was great! Drinks over-priced as expected; I always bring my own. Beach set-up for two chairs is $45/day, first come first serve. I would stay here again, just not during spring break. Water was gorgeous. We had fun!

We booked through Airbnb so our condo was great, clean, well kept and well stocked with pots, pans and dishes. Washer and dryer worked great and furniture was clean and comfy. Like I said though we booked through a private owner. All of the employees we encountered were very nice too. The upper floors are privately owned and clean, had fresh paint in the hallways and were well maintained, the lower floors are from my understanding, owned by the building and it shows. The floors, walls and doors were filthy and rusty. The hallway ceilings leaked when it rained. I felt sorry for the people staying on those floors and walking up to their door and seeing all the dirt and rust. I can just imagine what the inside looked like since the outside looked as bad it did. The parking garage isn't nearly large enough, there were daily traffic jams because the lanes are so narrow that cars can't pass in each direction. Once side has to stop to let other side pass and vice versa. The elevators were rough but not quite as bad as others have stated. They need at least 2 more sets though. One set or another seemed to always be out of order causing even further delays. A word of advice, whether you're going up or down just get on. If you keep waiting, you'll be waiting for eternity. Would I book with my Airbnb host again? Absolutely, she was amazing and her unit was exactly as advertised. Would I book in this building again? Nope.

We were eloping on this trip. We rented a very upscale condo (which was perfect and amazing) at a beautiful resort: The Shores at Panama. We were coming in March and indoor heated pool was a selling point because the gorgeous lagoon pool isn't heated. However, the indoor pool wasn't functional. A few minutes in and my eyes were burning and our 8 year old was coughing constantly. Probably needed to be shocked but it was never taken care of while we were there. Ended up buying the kiddo a wet suit so she could swim without freezing. The 14 year kid being murdered right in front of the resort on the beach and crime scene tape being up around the pool didn't help. To ice the cake, last day was relaxing at the beach. The danger flags are at Pineapple Willys. There is a sign telling what the colored flags mean with security sitting in front of it. There are 2 red flags. Lounge chairs are still being rented with no warning (you know you can't go in the water, right? None of that). Kids are playing on boogie boards. Our kid is in about 8" of surf. Code enforcement rolls up and writes every parent with a kid in the water a $500 ticket. No warning. When we ask everyone at the resort why this wasn't posted it was always someone else's fault. And very suddenly 2 signs were put at the entrance to the beach. Code enforcement advised us every resort was given these signs by code enforcement. The Shores of Panama just didn't bother putting them out until it was too late. If you plan to stay here, the chair rentals are $45 and they never have change so you end up paying $50. Take exact change. The resort is in a great location. Walmart is almost across the street. The star shaped hot tub is amazing as it holds a lot of people (50). The downside, it hilds a lot of people and gets pretty disgusting and cloudy when it's the only comfortable water source for a 23 story resort.

We just returned from staying for 6 nights. We arrived and it was literally a nightmare. We had a parking spot on the first floor, we were never able to use it. Someone was always in the spot. They have some spots where you can park but during spring break we drove around and around looking for spots. Not good. We tried taking to multiple people and nothing was done. We were lucky we were on the first floor, however due to parking we would have to park much higher often. This was another nightmare because the elevators were not working. There was usually just one working. This resulted in at times an hour wait. This was not ok. Being on the first floor, the noise was A LOT. Between spring breakers, music and the amount of times our doorbell was run and no one was there was extremely frustrating. It kept us up and our kids up all night. Beach is pretty but so would all beaches. It was very crowded, again Spring Break so expected. It said masks were required inside but no one was wearing them. Very little help when checking in, they couldn't even direct us the right way to our room. It said there was a spa and kids club. We never say this. Outdoor pool was frigid and not useable in our opinion. There was an indoor pool but over crowded and eyes burned of chlorine. The outdoor hot tub consistently had 30 people in it. Too many people Overall, would never stay here again. Too many problems and no one cared.
