We booked this for one night one the way home from farther inland Florida to Texas. Just wanted a stopover at the beach. Pros- Steps from the beach. We went back and forth no problem. Somewhat clean. Decent price compared to similar properties nearby. Coffee for coffeemaker - yes! Cons - Not as clean as one would hope. Very old and outdated furnishings and bedding. I realize it's not a given, but would have been nice if they had a few beach towels in addition to the white bath towels. I realize they probably usually cater to families or partiers who stay multiple nights and that may be unrealistic. But would have been a nice touch.

The good: The property is actually in Laguna Beach, not PCB so it is on the quieter end which is what we wanted. Close proximity to Thomas Donuts. The room was ready early so we were able to get in sooner than expected. When I asked for a second key one was brought over quickly. The bad: This is an old property and has not been kept up well. We stayed in villa 14. The condo itself is pretty roomy but the bed was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on. The couch was just as uncomfortable. There was a general lack of cleanliness (it appeared that someone came in and did the bare minimum). There was a gob of long hair in the bathroom sink drain. The door of the microwave had a large crack. The bedroom blinds did not reach the length of the window so we had to hang a sheet up since there were no curtains. There is a gap in the blinds of the bathroom window large enough for someone to look in. There was a pot full of cigarette butts by the back door (which could have been a nice place to sit). The pool goes from 4-8 feet so my short 8 year old couldn’t really enjoy it because she is only 4 feet tall. The general upkeep is lacking. We had lizards in the condo 2 of the 3 days we were there because of the gaps around the door. There is a large drainage area in the beach in front of the condo that you have to walk around to get to the ocean. Unless there is a lot of renovation done, we would not stay here again because there are other options for just a bit more money.

We stayed here in 2020 & fell in love with the location and proximity to the beach. Although it wasn't the cleanest place we've ever stayed, it wasn't horrible. So, we reserved our week for 2021 one year in advance. Upon arrival, we found our room was absolutely disgusting!! The sheets didn't appear to have been changed between guests. The sheets were covered in hair and stains. ALL 3 beds!! We went to the office and of course housekeeping was gone for the day. Liz, who works in the office, is the sweetest person you could ever meet and she was very apologetic and tried to help us. But, there isn't a lot she can do. We were giving all new bedding. Once we started stripping the dirty sheets, we saw that the pillows, mattress pads AND the mattresses all had nasty yellowing, brown stains. We literally flipped the mattress over, put them in new full zipper cases, put on brand new mattress pads & fresh sheets. Liz gave us new pillows. The blinds were covered in layers of dirt and dust...LAYERS! We went shopping and got bleach cleaner, Lysol spray and Clorox wipes. We tried to make it tolerable for our stay. The hot tub was closed and roped off with no explanation. We spoke to several guests and everyone was complaining about how dirty stuff was. Some blinds didn't work at all. The building itself is in dire need of repairs! It is sorely lacking structural and cosmetic repairs/upkeep...especially for ocean front.

We stayed 9 nights. Was perfect for us. We stayed in unit 21. No issues. Clean, comfortable bed. Had anything we needed in the kitchen. Plenty of fresh clean towels everyday. Staff was friendly and helpful. Perfect location. West end was less crowded. Had grandkids, 2-16 yr olds, 10 and 8. The atmosphere there is so laid back. We were here for 4th of July! The fireworks were amazing all up and down the beach. The balcony was perfect for that sunrise coffee. View is gorgeous! Thank you Kathy, for your help! Will definitely come back.

No hot water in kitchen, dirty vents in ceiling, dirty fan blades, doors hard to close, worn out furnishings, bad interior painting, not as pictured. Office said nothing about the water in kitchen when we rented then blamed it on covid. They said" I sorry" about the filth on the vents. Disgusting!!! Never going back, NEVER!

We enjoy Pineapple Villas and found out about it because of our 10 lb. maltese mix furry companion. We left a longtime destination originally because of their insistence on not accommodating pets in any way, at any time, for any reason. We continue coming to Pineapple Villas because of the unique community feel, the beach access, and the options in accommodations (size, kitchen or not, etc). The tile floors are much preferable on the beach and it has not been my experience, in any stay, that the rooms were dirty or required updating (as some reviewers seem to have experienced). It is a modest hotel and reasonably priced; it is not "swanky" but it is clean and the staff is helpful. A family member went back to our old hotel in our most recent visit because they had to choose a lower price option and they were VERY unhappy with the management, the noise, and the refusal of THAT hotel to allow them to end their pre-paid reservation after 3 nights in order to move to Pineapple Villas instead (we were all going to pitch in and pay the difference). If you want a decent clean condo in a hotel setting that allows pets, Pineapple Villas is my first choice (I haven't stayed in the room-only options, which may have carpet and prompt other complaints). We enjoy the kitchen and the beach, with a pool too if we want it!

Similar to a rundown motel. We stayed in villa 21 which was beachfront/ view. The balcony is shared and narrow so the family next to us had to pass us to get to their room. A full kitchen and fridge/freezer was nice. Coin operated laundry on 2nd floor. There were only 2 chairs for the table. An exterminator may be warranted. The ac systems were so loud ! The shower drained, yay. Close walk to the General store. Clean otherwise.

This condo complex is in need of a serious update. The outside is clean but looks very rundown. The room we had was horrible, it smelled old and dirty. They did not seem to follow the CDC guidelines for cleaning before reopening. We had to clean the dust and dirt and wipe everything down before bringing in our stuff, not sure what they did during the time they were closed. The wicker furniture stunk bad and looked to be original to the room, circa 1950’s. Beds were very uncomfortable, but they did replace two of the mattresses when my daughter complained. The bed rooms were decent size but the living area/kitchen was rather small and tight. The pool was nice and they have charcoal grills for you to use, bring your own charcoal. The view from our room/balcony was awesome. The beach was great, very few people and clean. Laguna Beach appears to take good care of their area of the beach. Over all I can not recommend this place until they update or at least freshen up the rooms and replace the outdated look and feel.

So disappointed when we went inside villa 12, grubby and run down. I also felt it smelt of dogs. We went here as the website looked amazing and we had done so much travelling it was our treat. Used washing machine but that looked like it needed a good wash itself. Had to go and buy washing powder as they dont sell it. Walking around the building the pool and jacuzzi didn't look that clean either. Walking round to the bins there is dog poo laying around the place . I just cant Express how disappointed I am such a shame as could be something very special.
