Spent four days at the Osprey. Management and all staff that we talked to were very friendly. Every morning we saw an employee cleaning the grills, spraying down the stairs and picnic tables. The grounds were free from trash and the rooms were clean. The only reason I gave them a four star, in my opinion the pillows could have been a little firmer. I would recommend this property to family and friends and we will be back.

The cons: The beach here is very sloped, making it hard for my husband and me to walk comfortably. I prefer a flatter beach with a nice hard sand to walk by the water. The helicopter rides across the street made a ton of noise. The party wagons on the main drag were obnoxiously loud. They allow smoking on the balconies and even supply an ash tray. This means that we sometimes had to vacate our balcony to avoid smelling others’ smoke.
The pros: A balcony looking over the water where we could listen to the waves. A clean room with a kitchenette. Daily housecleaning. No pets. A room that does not appear to have been smoked in. Friendly staff.
Pro or con? Not a lot of people wearing masks.
We won’t be back here if we can help it, but easy to see why others might love it.

Me and my 3 boys (ages 21, 17 and 8) stayed here for 4 nights. It was very clean. The beds were comfy. We brought our own pillows as we usually do. It was a good thing we did because their's were a bit flat. I read the reviews before we booked. One review suggested we take tissues and paper towels, so we did. Also, a good thing to do. No paper products (besides toilet paper of course) were provided. Staff were VERY friendly. The pool was very small but Driftwood's pool was bigger. We were able to swim in their pool because Osprey's was being fixed. It opened the day after we arrived. Take charcoal! They have grills available to grill on!

My family has stayed at this hotel several times over the past 9 years and always enjoyed our stays. This year, hurricane Sally heading to gulf within our 2 week cancellation period. We waited to see where it was going to hit, and it was too close to AL/FL border to risk flying, renting a car, staying in hotel right on the beach that could have storm surge, plus stormy weather all week. They would not refund our deposit, even with a hurricane that close to their property. I understand it’s a beach property and bad weather is the risk you take, but this was a hurricane. They would not budge on the refund, instead gave us a 60-day voucher to return. We’re all working people, and a large family, and could not take off work, etc, within 60 days, so our whole family lost deposits on 5 rooms. The management was intractable. It’s ridiculous they don’t have a refund policy when hurricanes are forecast to make landfall so close to their property.

We're sad to hear you have this impression of our resort. We do have our policies listed on our website. Our team always encourages our guests to read these over before booking. If Panama City Beach is under a hurricane watch or warning within 48 hours of your arrival date, the reservation deposit can be transferred to another stay within 60 days of the original reservation. If a mandatory evacuation order is issued for Panama City Beach the deposit will be refunded. On the other hand, a reservation must be cancelled more than two weeks prior to arrival for deposit refund. It seems you were out of the two-week window. We booked from Hotels.com and we, of course went by the description listed of the hotel. It stated there was a restaurant, bar/lounge on the premises as well as the hotel having beach umbrellas. No restaurant on site. There was a Tiki bar that was open from 11am to 6pm and there were no umbrellas for the beach. You could rent chairs and umbrellas from another person for $35.00 a day. When we complained tot he hotel, we were told that it Hotels.com's fault. They listed the amenities incorrectly. I don't understand that, because someone had to give Hotels. com the information. Anyway, neither the hotel or Hotels.com did anything about any of our complaints so we do not recommend this hotel and we will no longer be booking through Hotrels.com

Great trip , all rooms are ocean front views with personal patios. My wife my son and I had a great time, right on the beach it is literally a minute walk to the beach. The room was a little bit dated but very clean and the staff did a great job with all of the cleaning and sanitizing and they all were very friendly. Check in was easy. The pools were fun my boy liked it that there were other kids to play with. There were several other large family groups there a very friendly atmosphere not anybody stuck up. There were adults sitting with their feet in the pool and had absolutely no problem with a little splash from a kid jumping in the pool. A very family friendly place, we be returning soon. It's great they have a full size kitchen stuff we didn't use anything except the microwave and fridge but it was nice to know it was there. The pictures don't do this place justice, if you want a great place to stay beach front that is affordable then you should definitely give this place a try you will not be disappointed.

We had a great time at the Osprey. We do have a very large family with five boys and everyone from the youngest to the oldest had a great time. The staff at the osprey, was very helpful and enjoyable to be around. rooms were very clean and the maids treated us like family. Always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Went out of their way to get to know my young boys so they felt comfortable with them cleaning the room while they were in there. We are coming back and will continue to come back in years to come.

We had a trip planned for 5/21/22 thru 5/28/22. My wife was put in the hospital on 5/13 and released on 5/16 and was told she would need to follow up in 7-10 days. This would be in the middle of the trip so we called and asked if we could just change the dates to a different week. They said we could but we would still lose the TWO nights reservation charge that we had to pay when we originally booked. There website does say you must cancel 14 days prior to your arrival which we knew but we had a medical emergency and they did not seem to care. You would think that they would make some type of concession considering the circumstances. We have only stayed there one time before and wanted to stay there again this year. Now after losing over $400 for the deposit we will never even consider them again. It is obvious that they only care about the money and not their customers.

We have stayed here several times over the years and it never gets old to us. Panama City Beach has been taken over by the high rise condos and this is a family owned motel that will always be our beach spot as long as it is there. Construction on another monster building was going on right next door and the noise was a little disturbing but this was not Ospreys fault. Staff was super friendly as always and the tiki bar served some yummy drinks and grilled hot dogs. So relaxing! We will be back next year.

We just left Osprey on the Gulf today and had an amazing visit. Rooms, grounds and beach were extremely clean and well kept. Tiki bar serves burgers, chili dogs, nachos and drinks for adults and kids. Our nephews loved the watermelon slushies. Housekeeping staff was wonderful, we never had to ask for anything. Movie night on Thursday night was nice, the owner was outside making popcorn and handing out homemade peanut butter fudge. Nice family resort, no loud partying like at some of the bigger condos/hotels. Beach area was great, not crowded at all. My only complaint, and this is not with the hotel, but with the people that do the umbrella rentals on the beach directly in front of the hotel. They start setting up rentals around 6:30-7 am and would complain and tell us we couldn’t set up our own umbrella on at the front of the water because it made it harder for them to rent their chairs. We planned ahead and bought our own chairs and umbrella to bring with us and expected to be able to set up in front of the water without being hassled about it. But again, this wasn’t anyone from the hotel. All staff we encounter from the hotel was extremely helpful and friendly. We definitely will be repeat customers. Pool areas are nice, clean and heated. Wonderful view from the balcony, kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast each morning. They have outdoor games like corn hole, giant checkers, dominos and connect four. They had watermelon each day at 2:00 but we didn’t get the chance to try it. We really enjoyed our stay here. Can’t wait to go back. Kids loved it too.
