This was our fourth visit to Gulfgate. I have to tell you that it began a bit rough and then stayed a bit crazy after. 1st, Our daughter's family came with us last year. They liked it well enough to plan another trip with us. We booked our condos in November. As the Corona virus started we all began to question as to whether or not we would go. We had planned our trip in June and we decided to move it to July hoping that the virus would get better...it did not...as we all know. Our daughter has recently had a heart valve replaced and our grandson was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. She was keeping in contact with the reservationist who told her that she could wait up until a week before to cancel and if she did, she would move her 300 dollar deposit to a reservation for next year...so, she didn't really worry about her deposit (or the extra 515 she had sent them). When she decided to cancel it was about 2 weeks before our trip. Instead or the regular person she had been in contact with the entire pandemic, she got Richard McDonald on the line. He was extremely rude and even cussed during their discussion and told her he didn't have to refund her a dime. (she did get 515 back)There were several approaches to discuss this matter including that they had "changed their mind and was sticking to the rental agreement as opposed to the verbal agreement"...he could have been so much more professional. (He did say that if they rented her condo out, he would refund her deposit. My daughter said fine, if you don't rent it out, we will come and just not do much....instead of making a person stick to the condo association policy to renting only for a week, he rented the condo out for the 3 or 4 nights which made it impossible to rent for the week and also for them to come to FL to stay. It was like he did that on purpose.) There were more words after our daughter's husband got on the line. I'll spare you the nasty details. Nevertheless, my husband, sister and I decided to go...especially since we knew there would be no refund....even if our Governor in KY didn't want us to go. We tried to keep to ourselves as much as possible. Check in was easy, as it had been for the 3 other years we've been. The condo was the same...minus some coffee cups (only 3 for a condo that sleeps 6) and one nasty pot holder (I'm pretty sure I bought a couple of years ago and left there). The kitchen sink backed up but they installed a new disposal that same day. They tried. We always stay on the ground floor so we don't deal with elevators...the guests there were VERY rude there this year and threw food from their balconies even after we asked them to please stop. We witnessed SEVERAL people washing their beach supplies (including fishing poles) in the pool. Guest were using the pool as a tub or sink to wash their coolers and feet even though the shower was just three feet away. The view from our room is spectacular. It just broke our hearts to have so many issues this year...while the condos are not luxury, that was fine with us. We like the simple style they offered. We just do not understand what happened...why are they not taking the needs of the people who do care and take care of the property? I'm afraid it's not going to get better and we will have to find a new place to stay. It's really too bad we were really hoping to come back with even more family more times a year.

Ok, so let me preface this review with...the owners of this condo were very nice and helped where they could. I am only leaving this review because I wish someone had told me what I'm going to tell you. Allowing pets and being pet friendly are 2 entirely different things. There was nowhere for my pets to "go". The guys had to walk them down the street a block or 2. There is a dog park and dog beach about 25 min away. We stayed in #510, which was on the 5th floor....the elevator only worked about 40% of the time. The owner was on the phone with elevator company as well as condo mgr...but they had problems with it even after they installed "the piece" it was needing. It tore up EVERYDAY we were there. The condo was nice enough, it was clean and didnt smell, however it was very outdated. Old furniture & old toilets. Mattresses were good though. The toilet in master bath was messed up, the water pressure for half our stay was minimal. We had to take showers at night because you could bet there wouldn't be any pressure in the morning. The kitchen sink leaked, but the owner came and fixed that while we were there. The new tile floors were great, no trouble keeping them clean. The beach was the best part, the water was clear as glass, we LOVED it. Anthony the beach service guy was hardest working man ive ever seen. Very thorough and accommodating. We will not be staying at Gulfgate again.

They rented Gulfgate for a whole month in February, and just loved it! Very reasonable, and beach view was beautiful! They are going again for a month this coming February. The staff there were very accommodating and and friendly!

This unit (212) was very stylishly furnished with many high end appliances. This unit is on the corner but the elevator is a pretty good distance away. The pool area was clean and had its own showers and restrooms. The down side was that there was back mold in both bathrooms of this unit. It was clean except for that and the light fixtures needing dusting. I would go back.

This is an older condo complex, I guess we like that kind of thing. We stayed on the ground floor. It was an exceptional view of the gulf. Check in was easy and there was plenty of parking. (We checked in around 3:15) We had a two bedroom, two bath condo. It was very spacious and we were very please that the photos were not misleading. The pool was very refreshing as it sits under the building so it doesn't get like "bathwater". We experienced only two issues. One was that our main sliding glass door was not working correctly. The management did try to fix it but I think that maybe the door needs to be replaced. The second issue was: People throwing things from their balcony or sweeping their dirt from their balcony. Cigarettes were thrown and burned our hammock that we had put up outside the patio. We complained to people everywhere so it finally stopped. I think that it was young people not thinking about what they were doing. We loved our view and the area of the beach where we stayed! I will visit again as we were married July 18, right out front!
