(1) Water advisory. Failure to warn. There was a county-wide water advisory in place and you could not drink the tap water due to toxic algae. There was no sign at the front desk, and we were not advised of this at check-in. You are supposed to learn this on your own, and, if you don’t, and if you drink the tap water, you will get sick. Luckily the waitress at lunch told us. Once you learn about this, the front desk will then provide bottled water, but you have to learn this on your own. I would think that the hotel has a duty to warn guests about toxic tap water and they fail to do so. (2) No beach chairs or umbrellas, and no knowledge of a sister hotel. They do have beach chairs and umbrellas, but they won’t give them to you due to “COVID”. I asked if any hotel on the beach offered a day pass and I was told “I’ll google it.” I said we’re going for dinner in the hotel and I’ll return to the desk after dinner. I returned 2-hours later and was told that she called “every” hotel on the beach and no one offered a day pass. I said I might check out in the morning and switch hotels because I wanted to go the beach, and I was told that she’ll keep checking and will text me. I found other accommodations and I texted the front desk to notify her. After I texted her that I’d be checking out, she then tells me that they have a sister hotel on the beach and she’ll make arrangements. What?? It took over 3-hours for the front desk to learn that they had a sister hotel? That should’ve been the first thing to be offered. Who wants to pack up and change hotels and go through all that? But too late. (3) No turn down service. I asked for turn down service and fresh towels and shampoo. The towels were dumped in a bag on the chair, the shampoo was thrown on the table in a plastic bag, and nothing was picked up or turned down. (4) No concierge. A Leading Hotel should have a professional concierge, but they don’t. I called pre-arrival to make 3-restaurant reservations. The front desk, acting as concierge, made 2 of the 3 requested reservations. The third restaurant had no booking for me. (5) Room. Only one pair of slippers for 2-people. I asked, twice, for a second pair and it was never delivered. No coffee maker in the room. We stumbled upon free coffee offered at the bar but the front desk doesn’t tell you this and you have to discover it on your own. Shower door leaks water onto the floor. (6) Pool. The pool is full of leaves and other tree debris and it is not cleaned. There is one attendant who just stands by herself and does nothing. I asked for help to move the umbrella for shade and was told she’ll call someone. I had to snag someone myself to help move the umbrella. She doesn’t set up towels for you, and she doesn’t pick up towels after someone leaves. Not sure what her job is exactly to stand there. Forget about using the men’s restroom at the pool. It is right next to the hair salon, the ladies come out of the salon and the ladies lock themselves in the men’s room. This goes on all day. I had to go all the way back to the room each time in order to use the restroom. The salon opens their doors out onto the pool so you hear the squeal of hair dryers all day. They don’t cut the coconuts down from the palm trees, which is dangerous. I’m fact, a small coconut dropped and narrowly missed striking the man across from me. (7) Wedding. The weddings take over the courtyard. They work all day wheeling giant boxes around and setting up sound systems and lighting so you can’t relax in the courtyard, and, ask for a room overlooking the street if you want any sleep. (8) Breakfast. The bacon was overdone and charred to a crisp. Sent it back and they deliver another order of charred bacon. Third time and still charred. Asked for a manager and told manager doesn’t arrive until 10am. Well, breakfast doesn’t manage itself. I suspect that Boulud operates lunch and dinner and that the hotel operates breakfast. Lunch and dinner were perfect, but breakfast was entirely different. (9) I checked out and complained to the front desk. I could see the manager sitting right there in the back, looking at me and listening, but he wouldn’t get up off of his chair to come and apologize personally. (10) I wasn’t planning to write a review, but, several hours after I checked out, they text me to ask “how is your stay going so far?” This really angered me and it’s another example of mismanagement. This is not a luxury hotel and they’re living off of their name.…
Brazilian Court House Hotel…a new favorite! We will definitely be back to soak up the ambiance, experience, professionalism, and service of this gem of a hotel! A+ in my view!! Palm Beach and the Brazilian Court House Hotel make for an unforgettable vacation!
We had booked two rooms and when we went out this morning at 830 am we asked them to clean our rooms. I returned at 3 pm and my room was never cleaned. When I complained they said nothing except sorry. The managed was not helpful and housekeeping staff is terrible. They never did a turn down service although they were supposed to. I would not recommend this now despite an otherwise ok experience, the RESTRAUNT is good but service is awful.
Our group of friends decided to pick the BC as the first trip since COVID. We were so happy that we picked this hotel, because the staff treated us so nicely and helped us plan the most amazing weekend. The courtyards are beautifully manicured and picturesque. Our suites were so spacious and had the best water pressure in the shower. We ordered room service to the pool which was so nice on a sunny day. The hotel was fully booked but we never felt like there was a huge crowd anywhere. Definitely going back again!
