We rented the entire Inn for my son’s small wedding (16 people) and it was just perfect. It’s a beautiful building with a rich history told to us by the owner upon check in. The owner also referred us to a caterer who was fabulous. Everyone loved their accommodations and the being together in the incredible living room.
Grand Gables Inn was a beautiful sight in the midst of a driving rainstorm in Palatka! We were greeted warmly by the host but the house itself was also warm and welcoming. Beautifully furnished, fabulous floors, large bath rooms, large rooms (there were 4 of us) and very comfortable beds. BJ made us a wonderful breakfast the next morning and then we got a tour of the house. No spoilers, but it has a very interesting history! I would absolutely stay there again and bring a group of friends!
Tate, the owner is a welcoming host who gave us a fascinating history about the house. We really enjoyed looking at all the memorabilia and the secret tunnel. The house is located in a lovely area, close to the town centre. We really enjoyed staying here.
Awful experience. Dirty rooms, spider webs, roaches, flimsy old cot was offered for our children to sleep on, unapologetic staff, arrogant. Very disappointed. Had hard beds. The owners live in the home and we felt like we were in their space.
From the first tour of the Inn, to the friendliness of the owners, the history and the willingness to make our stay amazing. 5 stars aren’t enough. I would stay here again and again. We loved the family and loved Inn. We stayed with family for my daughters wedding and it was perfect.
The was the second overnight stay at the beautiful Grand Gables Bed and Breakfast, and we, as before, had a wonderful, quiet, relaxing stay in this grand edifice to yesterday! Greeted by Tate, our host family once again exceeded our expectations for hospitality, cleanliness, and peaceful rest! For my husband and l, this beautiful facility is very close to home; yet, transports is into the grandeur of days gone by… On our previous visit, Tate gave us the basement to rafters tour of his beautiful home. We are so delighted to know this gracious host, and can hardly wait until the next time we see him and his family! Wishing the very best for this delightful family, with many thanks and good wishes, Noreen and David
Stayed here twice while visiting my brother. The house is gorgeous. Lovely period furniture. Owners are very friendly. About 1 block from the river. Lovely walks along the river. The first floor has a large suite with bedroom, living room and bathroom.
We enjoyed our stay. The Inn was quaint, peaceful, and clean! Everyone was very pleasant and welcoming. We will definitely be booking with them again when we come back the next time to visit our family.
Life as it was in the 1800's. Rich and glamorous construction such as if it were done today would be worth more than most would be willing to invest. Way better than a hotel stay and great breakfast in the morning. May I also add, we brought our own dinner having full use of the kitchen and dining area. Awesome experience and we didn't even get to visit with any ghosts ;-) of bygone days. I think they all had Covid.
Our group of 10 kayakers rented out the entire B&B for the week and absolutely loved the place. There was lots of room for everyone to spread out, private restrooms, huge ceilings, perfectly decorated, and comfortable. The B&B is centrally located in the historic district so you can walk everywhere and anywhere. It is also located to some of Florida's premier kayaking locations. We paddled Deep Creek, The Ocklawaha River, Silver Springs, Juniper Springs, and Haw Creek.
