Comfortable bed & quiet room led to a good night's sleep. Room was large and clean. Front desk check in person was professional and he was very helpful recommending restaurants in the area. Nice pool and easy access to the ocean beach. Will stay here again.

We arrived mid afternoon and were happy to see that COVID requirements are being followed with masks required. Our room had an ocean view and the beach was accessible. Due to the pandemic, hot breakfast is no longer available but bag breakfast consisting of danish, orange and apple are provided. Front desk personnel are housed behind plexiglass cage. The room was quite clean and the beds comfortable even though the hotel is old and could use some updating. We plan on returning on our next trip

Nothing fancy but great for the price-ocean view & the room was big & nice. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Baggage carts/elevator available. Will return for my next getaway! Ormand Beach is so clean/beautiful & fun body-surfing waves!

Fronts desk agents are not guest service oriented, They are very rude, everytime I needed it something they were playing with theirs phone and get mad that they actually have to work. In the two days we stayed they didn't even have creamer for coffee and when we asked, front desk stated; Our owners are cheap and they never buy enough. Also they say the front desk is open 24 hours but its not true. On my first night another guest was seating on top of my ac unit talking over the phone at 2am. I keep calling front desk to ask the guest to move but nobody pick up the phone. I had to deal with the situation myself. I had stay in hotels 5 in Daytona and this one is the WORSE in every single way. DO NO STAY HERE!!!!

We had reservations for Thursday, July 23- Saturday, July 25 for an oceanfront room. When we arrived, the front desk clerk Scott was very nice and gave us the keys to Room 201, oceanfront. It had a dirty carpet, cobwebs hanging in the corner with huge dust balls on the curtain by the balcony. The bed cover was stained, so I pulled back to look at the sheets which were stained. So I went to check the bathroom, which had a big hair ball stuck in the sink. The carpet was ripped, the paint on the ceiling was falling down. I went back down to the desk, showed Scott and he apologized and moved us to Room 401. He walked up with me so we could go through that room together. I again pointed out the huge hanging cobwebs, the filthy wall hair-dryer, the paint just outside the room in the hallway, etc. But the sheets were clean, and we needed a hotel room, so I told him it was good enough and would appreciate the manager calling me. Scott said “Absolutely, I understand. She might not be available right now, but I’m going to speak with her about this immediately.” He even offered to help us carry our belongings, which we declined. Once my husband and I moved our luggage and got situated in Room 401, I walked the Room 201 keys back down to the office, and asked Scott to please have the manager call me at her earlier convenience. Later that evening, Scott called me. Said his manager was pretty busy, but she said to give us a discount. I said “Thanks Scott for that but I need to speak with her, if not tonight, then tomorrow please.” He said he’d let her know. I never heard from her. Attached are photos of what we found. And our discount was BARELY anything- I haven’t even mentioned that the pool was shut down our first 24’ish hours, so we didn’t have use of that amenity. Due to Covid, the “included hot breakfast” was an apple, an orange, and a dried out muffin. I’ve stayed at other hotels during Covid who was able to offer a better “bagged breakfast” than this! Nothing was as advertised, and the manager won’t even call so I could speak with her, in spite of me calling the front desk, in spite of me asking Scott at least 3 times to have her get ahold of me, etc. Personally, I think cooperate needs to go have a look at this “not very” quality inn, and then replace the current manager with Scott.

Conditions as you've described do not represent our normal level of service and we will review your concerns with the entire team and correct the deficiencies. As you mentioned Scott was very helpful and is a vital member of this team. He brought to my attention that you were disappointed with the first room and immediately took action to address those issues. As was expected the matter of compensation was discussed and approved by management. In the short time since I've assumed management of this property, I've had numerous discussions with several guests about varied issues; mostly compliments but also some about opportunities for improvement. As a matter of operational necessity, I've been on location seven days per week since April 2020 and I have consistently honored requests from guests who asked to speak with me. As one of our many valuable guests, please be assured that we value your input and would not intentionally disregard your efforts to help us resolve a matter that concerns you. Had I received the information to contact you, I certainly would have done so. I am also sure that there was no mal-intent when this information was omitted but I'd love to discuss more about your experience and I hope you'll be willing too. I'd also like to apologize for the disappointment you experienced in not having a hot breakfast. However, we have stated on our website that food and beverage options have been modified as a result of the COVID-19 implications. This information is also provided at check-in. Like many other companies, our CHOICE approved breakfast vendor, experiences numerous challenges with supply/demand during these times. Hopefully, this will improve shortly. The temporary unavailability of the pool was a result of scheduled maintenance but gladly, it's now reopened. There are over 6000 CHOICE hotels so please do not let this experience deter you from making future plans.
