Took a chance on a new place and booked a pet friendly cottage at Coral Sands. Despite current Covid worries, I felt a cottage at the ocean would not be risky. Coral Sands provided a safe place, with many precautions in place. Staff was friendly and helpful, at a distance. Social distancing was enforced across the complex, including closing the pool when too many people ( there was a sign) were in the pool. The cottage was nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. Towels were replaced daily as requested simply by bagging used ones and placing them outside. Small grass area right by pet friendly cottages for potty breaks.

My friend & I rented a cottage for the second year in a row here but it was a last minute idea for us. Covid-19 made us change our plans from a visit to Seattle to spending the week in Florida, where I live. We wanted some ocean time & last year was fun so why not! Well we booked this cottage just days before we came out for two nights. The biggest disappointment of this trip was we received no advance notice that all kitchen ware items had been removed from the kitchenette due to Covid-19. There was a dish towel and a wash rag, a coffee pot with coffee and pkts of sweeteners, that's it! They usually have dishes, stainless, various pots. I was so disappointed. There were sheets on the bed, there were towels in the bathroom so I don't understand the limit in the kitchen? There was even dish soap but no dishes! We had to make a second trip to the store to purchase these items that I could have easily brought from home had I known. No it doesn't help we were denied early check-in and late check-out. But hey that's icing so I get it. Honestly I've checked the website and don't see any mention of this note to potential stayers so we can plan ahead of time. They just mentioned it as we checked in like it was off-hand and we could go to Dollar Tree or Publix down the street to purchase the items we would need! I wasn't impressed. I chose a "Poor" value on this visit because though we had to pay the higher holiday rate for Monday night, there were lesser services offered. Not good business and besides it rained all day Monday; we paid a dear price to watch television & run back to the store.

We love coming here usually, great spot with a great family feel. This time we stayed in one of the cottages and found mouse droppings behind one of the dressers and also someone had covered the smoke detector with a ziplock bag. These conditions were left after housekeeping had cleaned the room prior to our check in. We took pictures and showed them at check out, no compensation was offered and the check out person actually said "well i don't know what mouse droppings look like,"

I was pretty overwhelmed looking for a decent and quiet place to spend Spring Break. Some family members suggested this motel. Quaint and right on the beach. Room is a pretty decent size. Beds are great! But you can definitely see this motel’s age. Pool had a lot of children, and tables and chairs were “claimed” pretty early in the day. Very bad insulation. We could hear everything! I do think this motel was less crowded than most for Spring break, which I enjoyed. But I think next time, I will go for a newer hotel that charges a similar price and has a private balcony overlooking the ocean.

I think the RV portion of this resort must have been an afterthought with very little planning except to generate another revenue stream. First, there are too many in too small of a space and there is no delineation built in between the sites. For example, we were in site 27 which backs onto the bathroom, there is a path but everyone kept walking through our campsite, literally and constantly. We tried to block it but they just went around. One person tripped over our camp-stove and another had to duck to avoid our canopy. Now the dogs....I love dogs and we travelled with two until they passed away but seriously, the camper close to us had 4 dogs, all small and chained up outside their RV barking and barking their sharp little barks like all small dogs. It was so disruptive on a nice quite camping morning, and on the other side of us a man with two dogs and he was gone most of the day, well of course they cried and whined the entire time he was away. So, now the kids, remember no delineation to define the site. The wee kids were playing hide and seek they thought they could use our site as "base" our barbecue to be specific. There is no code required for the bathroom door so they kept running in and out, imagine if someone was showering in there. No parents for a while but we spoke up and they came and took the kids away. One last thing, and keep in mind that I think the RV site was an afterthought, the pool is gorgeous, but there is a sign on the pool that states maximum 21 person, well in the RV site alone there is many more than 21 persons so think about everyone in the cottages also in the pool at the same time. Then there was the party noise that went all through the night. All and all a huge disappointment and I am sorry to have spent my hard earned money on this place. The beach was beautiful and the staff both on the phone and in person were courteous.
