The lodge is a good place to stay for the golf course guests. The driving range and facilities are just a short walk away. We had breakfast in the restaurant both days of our stay, and were checked for collar shirts each time (which we wore to the staff’s sigh of relief). On the putting green somebody from the staff disapproved of the adidas joggers my 14 year old was wearing and asked to change into khaki shorts. Not sure if my pants were too colorful either so I changed into different shorts as well. We also were reminded to tug our shirts in which we had. Juniors pay the same as adults (same green fee) and are not allowed into the member locker. We wanted to watch the World Cup soccer final on one of their six TV screens but unfortunately one has to be older than 18 (and we’re asked to leave). We ended up watching the soccer game in our hotel room. When our tee time arrived we had the same caddie for two days who caddied for the foursome. He made sure we kept pace with the group ahead and gave us the distances (the carts do not have GPS). I was hoping for the caddy to help with the club selection and provide guidance on what type of shots to hit. The course itself is fun to play, with challenging water and bunker hazards. It is not a scenic course with the holes going through neighborhoods with close by homes. It looks different to what you see on TV, and hole 18 has a very tiny putting green. Overall there are better suited places for junior golfers than Bay Hill where the membership seems to prefer being amongst themselves. Maybe a resort course is better suited for a father/son weekend golf trip.…
If you’re looking for evenings of late-night partying and raucous party goers, don’t stay here. However, if you are looking to experience the traditional golf type of environment that Mr. Palmer created, this is the place. We went to Bay Hill for our anniversary and stayed two nights, October 24th and 25th. We were treated like royalty the entire time. The rooms were extraordinarily clean and most comfortable. The food was exceptional and the staff, regardless of what capacity they served in, was equally exceptional. Every person we happened upon were sure to say hello and ask if there was something they could do to help make our time there better. It stars with check-in. You’ll be greeted by a wonderful staff. Be sure to say hi to Sonja, Sofia, and Ann. They will make you feel at home immediately. When you stop in at the bar, say hi to Anna and Whitney. I saved the best for last. Upon checking in, I wanted to make reservations for dinner that evening, but we couldn’t until 3:00 pm, and we wanted to get to the practice area and range to prepare for our round the next day. We walked toward the restaurant and happened to meet and lovely young lady, Alexis, who volunteered to get us into the restaurant and make reservations, including recommending Mr. Palmer’s table. Alexis found out that it was our anniversary. Not enough space for everything she did. Suffice it to say that she went over the top. THANK YOU, ALEXIS. ALEXIS FOR PRESIDENT!!!! Would I go there again? Absolutely! …
Mike Brady the shuttle driver was extremely accommodating, pleasant and friendly. Welcoming at check-in. Great food suggestions. Mike also offered to shuttle our whole group to a local restaurant and was quick to return in order to get us back to our lodging.
The golf course is pristine. Overall, lodge is lovely. Furnishings in rooms are dated, no mini fridge (we were able to request a “medication cooler- a small playmate cooler with some ice- hard to manage the safe temperature needed). Smaller flat screen TVs but they did add USB charging stations. Morning coffee service is a plus. We appreciate the dress code and attention by staff.
16 0f us travelled from the uk, stayed on night in the lodges, so we could play golf the next day, checked in late at night due to travelling from sawgrass. First impressions of the accommodation that it looked very dated, rooms were ok but could do with a facelift, no coffee facilties available so just go to bed. Next morning had a great breakfast, then on to play golf, which didn't disappoint an absolutely stunning golf course, another on to tick of the bucket list thank you
We have been here on several occasions and absolutely love it here. The service is 2nd to none and it always feels like coming home. I do however think it is time for a do-over in the bedrooms, the rooms although immaculately clean are dated and need to be refurbished, although I think even if this was not done we will still visit religiously every time we are in the area. Already looking forward to next time
Lets start with the golf course. It was definitely tournament standard. in great condition, fast greens, excellent, knowledgeable Caddie. The clubhouse had an excellent inventory of shirts, memorabilia. The wait staff at the clubhouse bar were very attentive. The Rooms- not so much. The late October warmth was too much for our A/C unit. The room smelled musty, and the decor, a bit dated. I was not allowed to use the fitness center, reserved for members only. That was disappointing. We stayed at Bay Hill to get the opportunity to play the Golf COurse. While my experience on the Golf COurse was excellent, the lodging was simply not up what I would think is Arnold Palmer's standard.....
We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights in one of the cute little waterfront cottages. We had two bedrooms, each with a king size bed, a living room and kitchen. The best feature was the full screened in porch looking out over the water. We would sit here every morning, drink coffee and watch the different birds come and go. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had updated appliances and there was a washer dryer combo in the carport closet. We had access to the beautiful pool, so we took advantage of that, got wet and had lunch a couple of days. Just so relaxing and a perfect choice for us.
Clean, friendly, and convenient. Stayed here with friends to play some golf. Only 2 nights. My room was on the 2nd floor - it seemed modern and updated. Some other rooms were being remodeled. The bed was very comfortable as was the room. The bar by the lobby was nice and the service was perfect. There is an outdoor area to sit with some fire pits. The restaurant next to it had a very good breakfast menu. The golf course was immaculate and was our favorite of the 3 we played (The Ritz & Shingle). I highly recommend staying here if you’re wanting to play some golf.
There is an energy here that I cannot describe but I have had the pleasure of enjoying more than once or twice. One needn't be a golf enthusiast to enjoy but that may add to the intrigue. This hotel is a trove of photos, memorabilia, etc. from the career of Arnold Palmer. It also is a most comfortable, non-conforming structure which offers comfort, great food and excellent service. And the energy. I have posted various reviews, but anyone familiar with my posts will realize that this is the only place to which I refer to the energy. It is good. It is safe. It is comfortable. The service staff will please above and beyond. The aforementioned food is of consistent high quality. Enjoying a beverage - perhaps at the hands of Sheryle - will begin a lifelong appreciation and friendship of good people.…
