The golf course is pristine. Overall, lodge is lovely. Furnishings in rooms are dated, no mini fridge (we were able to request a “medication cooler- a small playmate cooler with some ice- hard to manage the safe temperature needed). Smaller flat screen TVs but they did add USB charging stations. Morning coffee service is a plus. We appreciate the dress code and attention by staff.
16 0f us travelled from the uk, stayed on night in the lodges, so we could play golf the next day, checked in late at night due to travelling from sawgrass. First impressions of the accommodation that it looked very dated, rooms were ok but could do with a facelift, no coffee facilties available so just go to bed. Next morning had a great breakfast, then on to play golf, which didn't disappoint an absolutely stunning golf course, another on to tick of the bucket list thank you
We have been here on several occasions and absolutely love it here. The service is 2nd to none and it always feels like coming home. I do however think it is time for a do-over in the bedrooms, the rooms although immaculately clean are dated and need to be refurbished, although I think even if this was not done we will still visit religiously every time we are in the area. Already looking forward to next time
Lets start with the golf course. It was definitely tournament standard. in great condition, fast greens, excellent, knowledgeable Caddie. The clubhouse had an excellent inventory of shirts, memorabilia. The wait staff at the clubhouse bar were very attentive. The Rooms- not so much. The late October warmth was too much for our A/C unit. The room smelled musty, and the decor, a bit dated. I was not allowed to use the fitness center, reserved for members only. That was disappointing. We stayed at Bay Hill to get the opportunity to play the Golf COurse. While my experience on the Golf COurse was excellent, the lodging was simply not up what I would think is Arnold Palmer's standard.....
We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights in one of the cute little waterfront cottages. We had two bedrooms, each with a king size bed, a living room and kitchen. The best feature was the full screened in porch looking out over the water. We would sit here every morning, drink coffee and watch the different birds come and go. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had updated appliances and there was a washer dryer combo in the carport closet. We had access to the beautiful pool, so we took advantage of that, got wet and had lunch a couple of days. Just so relaxing and a perfect choice for us.
Clean, friendly, and convenient. Stayed here with friends to play some golf. Only 2 nights. My room was on the 2nd floor - it seemed modern and updated. Some other rooms were being remodeled. The bed was very comfortable as was the room. The bar by the lobby was nice and the service was perfect. There is an outdoor area to sit with some fire pits. The restaurant next to it had a very good breakfast menu. The golf course was immaculate and was our favorite of the 3 we played (The Ritz & Shingle). I highly recommend staying here if you’re wanting to play some golf.
There is an energy here that I cannot describe but I have had the pleasure of enjoying more than once or twice. One needn't be a golf enthusiast to enjoy but that may add to the intrigue. This hotel is a trove of photos, memorabilia, etc. from the career of Arnold Palmer. It also is a most comfortable, non-conforming structure which offers comfort, great food and excellent service. And the energy. I have posted various reviews, but anyone familiar with my posts will realize that this is the only place to which I refer to the energy. It is good. It is safe. It is comfortable. The service staff will please above and beyond. The aforementioned food is of consistent high quality. Enjoying a beverage - perhaps at the hands of Sheryle - will begin a lifelong appreciation and friendship of good people.…
I noticed room rates fell beginning Sunday evening, so I trooped over and reserved a room. The place was teeming with activity, preparation for the MasterCard Bay Hill Invitational, and shuttling groups like Jacobsen Mowing, through a chock full starter's sheet. The course is majestic. I was unable to believe that Rory McIlroy would shoot 7 under, within a month of my hardfought one over par, (after six holes). Though the coverage of the Bay Hill Invitational advertises that is as if Arnie never left, it is simply not quite the same. Mr. Palmer's daughters and grandson now oversee the tournament. The practice facilities are unparalleled, with an especially exhaustive Sand Trap and chipping area. I began my round at 5:00 pm in the heart of winter, hoping to complete 9, but we only made it through six. What I most enjoyed was the pristine wild life, ( a crocodile peered up at me, from the lagoon alongside the sixth tee), which seems undisturbed by golfers. The homes along the fairways are impeccable, open and well lit as nightfall approaches. This is a serious place, with a fairly constrained dinner menu, but within a short drive of world class cuisine. Please go here, it is a most unsurpassed experience!…
Stayed here for a short stay . Feels very much a country club type feel where everyone knows your name . I'm sure if we stayed here for longer than 2 days all the stay would have known us it's that friendly . Staff were amazing , friendly and efficient. Room was decent size and there are plenty facilities here that we didn't use . Breakfast was extra . Evening meal was wonderful . Clubhouse and golf course is here aswell . All in all a great place to stay in a fairly central location
2 night stay with golf. Practice facilities and golf course outstanding. Course well managed and beautifully maintained. Pace of play excellent. Caddy Mike was easy, fun and very helpful. pro shop, cart girl and staff were all solid and attentive! Room was nice but very dated .... ancient TV, old bones with very few updates. No coffee, ironing board in room. Things seemed stuck in time and influenced the experience. The lodge physically needs a remodel.... it didn’t match the quality of the staff and golf course.
