Coco Key Hotel and Water Park Resort is celebrated by many for its excellent location close to attractions and amenities. The resort atmosphere is a blend of modernity and wear, with guests appreciating the clean spaces but noting some areas need attention. While the water park and pools are a hit among families, opinions on the rooms and service are split, with some praising the spaciousness and others pointing out maintenance and staff responsiveness issues. The resort's value is debated; some find it reasonable, while others are put off by extra charges.

Amazing hotel/resort experience. They have a nice size waterpark right on the property.

Fidelia at the front desk provided above and beyond service. Very friendly, knowledgeable. Amazing.

Would recommend to anyone traveling solo or with family.

My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel during our vacation to Disney & Universal. The service we received was excellent! Shout-out to Ozzie S. who was amazing at check in and made us feel like VIPs. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and even gave us a bottle of champagne to kick off our vacation! Outstanding guy!
The hotel is well situated to theme parks, groceries, and dining. It's about a 15-20min car ride to Disney and about a 5-10min car ride to Universal. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle bus to Universal which was great
**NOTE:you need to book the shuttle the day before to ensure a spot on it. Otherwise it's based on availability and from experience it can get super packed***
Because it was unseasonably cold we did not use the water park, but it looked cool and something for kids and the family to do.
The hotel room itself was kind of gross. Like it wasn't outright dirty... But it was definitely in need of a renovation. The couches had weird stains on them, the carpet felt gross to walk on, the bed spread also had stains on it, and the toilet paper holder was coming off the wall; it's a budget hotel so you do get what you pay for... Just make sure your expectations are realistic if you choose this place. However, other rooms in different sections of the resort did look like they were renovated since they had nicer lighting and hardwood floors. The house cleaners did a great job of making the bed, giving fresh towels, toiletries, and cleaning the garbage every day!
Overall it served its purpose as a place to sleep after busy days at the amusement parks and the workers were awesome.

This place was amazing regardless if things were closed because of the virus. The regular pool and hot tub were open so we were able to relax and get cooled off not to mention that the pool was heated some so we could just jump right in. The beds were huge and squeeshy some of the best beds I have seen in hotels. We were smacked dab in the middle of businesses so everything was close. I advise coming back when the virus is all gone and things are open again because it’s like a ghost town now that we’re leaving and the curfew is up. The hotel was beautiful and well maintained. Palm trees and plants everywhere someone always gardening. The staff was all really sweet especially Denisse who checked us out while leaving the hotel, she let us store our bag while getting something eat. We will definitely be back in the future. Thank you Coco

The check-in process was miserable and took almost an hour with tons of people waiting around in the lobby. It was not that they didn't have enough staff on hand, but every time they checked someone in that family was coming back up to the front with some kind of problem that needed to be resolved right away. I heard complaints of dirty rooms, room keys not working, and twice different families came back up and said the room they were given was already occupied when they got there (can you imagine walking in on someone). That did not give me a good feeling about the place and I hadn't even checked-in myself yet. We watched this go on for almost an hour.

Our check-in was fairly uneventful once our turn came, but our room was quite dirty as well. We had one of the more expensive rooms facing the pool. There was sand all over the floor and on the beds. The bed sheets had black marks (dirt) on them, which really stood out since the sheets were white. There was hair all over the tub and walls in the bathroom. Housekeeping made the beds each day and took out the trash but never cleaned the room in the five days we were there. Housekeeping left us no towels and no rags on two separate days and we had to call the front desk and ask for them.

The biggest problem was our room had no hot water in the room on two separate days. Both days we noticed it when we went to take showers in the morning, and they had to send someone from "engineering" out to figure out what was going on. The first time that happened it took them 45 minutes to figure it out. Needless to say we missed our shuttle to Universal that day. The second time it happened they had it fixed in 15 minutes.

This is not the most expensive place on the strip, but for what it costs, basic expectations should be met. I would say the hotel failed at meeting basic expectations. I could not recommend this place.

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel with all the bells and whistles look elsewhere. The negative reviews I see here appear to be from folks looking for a "champagne" experience even though they booked at a local hotel. If you are looking for reasonably priced, centrally located, clean, good family hotel- this is the place. This is an older hotel without all the bells and whistles of a new one. But really, how much time do you expect to spend in your room while on vacation- so who needs all the bells and whistles? The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Even with all the COVID restrictions, this was an enjoyable stay and I would definitely stay there again. The wall A/C in our room was a little on the noisy side however it worked and that's all that mattered. The water park looked nice. We we did not have a chance to actually visit it though. The hotel is located within walking distance of a grocery (no need to pay $4.00 for a bottle of water!) and several restaurants, and if desired there is always Uber Eats, etc., for a reasonable delivery fee so you are not only limited to the hotel restaurants. The grounds are extremely well-maintained. The free shuttle from the hotel to Universal parks was a little tedious since the earliest return trip was 5:25pm but if you don't want to wait a taxi ride from the Universal park Shuttle stop back to the hotel was only $10. Well worth the price. All in all a nice hotel to stay for a reasonable price. I would highly recommend it.

I stayed for 3 nights (2/6/20-2/9/20) and was so disappointed that we were being charged extra fees for the waterpark that was closed and the kids pool with slide was not heated; hence, unable to use due to daily temperatures. We used the pool by our room, which water was heated, but the hot tub was disgusting and water was dirty. The tiki bar was never opened, which would have been ideal; we decided to purchase the spirits outside instead of walking all the way to the bar by the restaurant.

Also, our room was filthy when we arrive (floors and bathtub), our socks were black and we had to wash the bathtub before using it. Thank God for the housekeeper we had on the 2nd and 3rd day, she did an awesome job when I asked her to do a deep cleaning. Unfortunately, she wasn't scheduled for our Room #5101 on departure and the new assigned women ended up with the $20. I spoke of my concern about the tip given to the wrong housekeeper, but apparently it could not be retrieved and given to the housekeeper that deserved it, which I believe is wrong since the housekeeper we had until departure did a wonderful job. I would love to find out her name if possible. The front desk person tried to find out for me, but they gave him the name of a male, our housekeeper was a female. Hence, I don't want another individual getting the $20 for acknowledgement on this site.

One last thing, the beds; they made so much noise when moving around on it which was especially annoying during the night. It felt as if they mattress was going to come off some spring.

The rooms/appliances need an extreme upgrade and re-caulking of bathtubs as they are full of mold (unhealthy)...maybe try using some Tylex mold & mildew remover when cleaning. The $573.00 (approximately) paid, was not worth it. Until they do some serious upgrading/remodeling, I do not recommend the hotel to anyone.

Good day, Thank you for sharing your experience as this gives us the opportunity to fix the issues so it doesn't happen to you or another guest in the future. We were undergoing the restoration of the slides in the waterpark and apologize you were not advised in advance. In regards to the cleanliness of the room and floors being dirty is not the standard we uphold at our resort and has addressed this with our housekeeping department. We are currently undergoing room renovations to address items in the room and look forward to a brand new look. I appreciate the great comment in regards to the housekeeper as we strive to provide excellent customer service. We hope you visit us in the near future as your experience will not be a repeat. '

The rooms were unbelievably warn down (furniture and appliances were falling apart and literally crumbling when touched (not ideal when you have a 15 month old that wants to eat everything), the door in the first room we were given could be just pushed open (no key card needed)). The rooms were very dirty ( dust everywhere in the first room we were given (not ideal when my wife and 15 month old have asthma), scratches and stains on the couch, wood furniture and sheets, (looks nothing like the pictures)). Service was awful, I asked for clean sheets at about 11 in the morning and had to call 4 more times throughout the day and finally got sheets around 12am (not ideal with a 15 month old and trying to keep his routine for sleeping). All the food was expensive and no complementary breakfast (for over $100 a night and a $32 daily extra fee I expected a lot more. The managers were nice, helpful and understanding, and the water park was pretty fun, and the pools / hot tub was nice, so we still had a good time. We talked to a hand full of other guests and they all said pretty much the same thing as I’m typing. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, it would be better to get a much cheaper just hotel and buy tickets to a water park elsewhere in the city. Location was pretty good.

For the price it cost for our stay this hotel was definitely worth staying at. First off let me start by saying we had to switch rooms after the 1st day. The A/C in our first room was terrible and did not work very well and the room smelled like mildew. When addressed to the front office they switched our room immediately. It appears that some rooms are being refurbished so maybe the 1st room we had is on the list to be fixed or at least it should be if it's not. The second rooms A/C was much better and there was no mildew smell. The room and beds were clean. The bed and pillows were a little to firm for our liking but were manageable. It Our kids loved the water park. The only complaint about it is it should be open later. Lets face it people are coming to Orlando to go to the major amusement parks there not Coco Key so it would be nice if after going to the parks all day if you could come back after they close and use the water park at this resort. Only the "Hotel Pool" is open till 10pm. The water park closes at 7:30pm. The pool and water park area appeared to be clean and and orderly when we used it. There is a pool side tiki bar that was nice but would be better if you could charge items to your room so you didn't have to carry a wallet to the pool with you as there is no where to secure those sorts of items if in the water. We ate breakfast at the restaurant there 2 days and the food was pretty good. It was a typical breakfast buffet. The food was hot and appeared to be fresh. Over all I would recommend CoCo Key Resort to others especially if you can get the deal we got through Cancelon.com I believe we paid $48.00 a night for a 2 queen bed room for 5 days. Definitely worth the price even with the tourist fees and taxes applied. The staff was friendly and helpful. We rented a strolled from a 3rd party and it was left with the front desk for pu by us and then again for redelivery back to the rental company with no problems. There is a safe in the room for your valuables also. There are other restaurants, stores and gas stations in the general vicinity for any other needs. Overall This was a very pleasant resort to stay at.

We stayed at CoCo Key water resort for over 6 days. Overall had a great time with little issues. Water park was maintained well and had lifeguards at all areas required. Our room was perfect for a family of 4 with a 6 and 2 yr old. The beds were a little stiff, but for the price and convenience of where we were at was expected. Also, your so worn out from being at Disney World or Universal, the beds felt like a cloud on some nights. Lol.

As for the hotel food/restaurant - not worth the price for the Buffett at breakfast. There are so many people rushing in to load their plates that half the food is ever eaten and the guy checking us in wasn’t a very friendly person. I’m fact, he had the same attitude in the game room. I’m not naming any names, but definitely something for the managers to review with their team members.

Our room was a double bed and perfect for our size. However, our AC was not working correctly and leaked making the carpet wet. Once we called the staff came immediately and helped fixed the AC. It still didn’t work to its perfection but it was manageable. Also, the bath towels are cheap. Basically you need several to dry yourself and avoid leaving white flurries in your hair and face.

As for the bars and drinks for adults - definitely hooked up the parents to have good drinks. We topped our bartender well as she made some bomb drinks.

Be expected to wait at every restaurant you go to and be patient. Florida is struggling with staff just like every state due to lazy people not wanting to work and get free money. So, don’t get upset when McDonalds, Taco Bell, IHOP, CICI’s, etc puts you on a hour wait list just to eat. We decided to go to Walgreens and get chips, bread, water, etc to save and eat sandwiches at times to help with expenses and time to eat.

In all we had a great time and looking forward to going back.

We stayed here during Covid. The price was very reasonable: $87 total. This was the hotel price, plus the mandatory resort fee of $37 and the $10 parking fee. The resort fee makes sense, basically you are paying to access their water park. The parking is frustrating since you are using general parking outside your room. Just another money maker for them. At any other hotel the parking would be free.

The room was updated, but I don’t think the room maid swept the room. There were bits of grass behind the door and by the air conditioner. Kind of ruined the clean feeling. With that as the exception the room was nice and clean. Don’t get rooms near the hotel pool (which is separate from the water park) unless you are okay with hearing music 8am-10pm. Lots of people walked by our room heading to and from the pools and we could hear music all day. If I were to stay here again we would ask for a room further away from the action.

We really enjoyed the big red water slide. High adrenaline and fun for adults. Maybe too scary for some of the kids but that’s okay since there are other less scary slides. Not much to do in the pools, but we hung out for a while anyway.

This hotel is right on the international drive strip. We got to see into Universal’s water park when we were waiting in line to go down the slide.

The main reason we stayed here was because our hertz car rental is based in this hotel. We picked up and dropped the car off here. Very convenient.

Roughly 10-15 minute drive from the airport.
