Ronnie, a manager at Cabana Bay, helped us when we got lost. He went well over my expectations when he personally guided us to our destination, a lunch with a Cabana Bay guest. Lunch at the Hideaway Grill was really good, too--hummus, pita, vegetable sticks, veggie burger, fries, cheese fries, and a Greek salad.

It's hard to gauge the wait times before you go, and given the situation with Covid and the distancing, the wait times for most rides over the weekend were >2 hours for most rides. that's significant. Disney was lower. But Always love going to Universal.

We did a 3 night stay (1-15 to 1-18-21 ) at the Cabana and it was nice. We had a suite pool side as I had 4 young grand children with us. We did 1 day at Magic Kingdom and we did a day tour (1 hour) at Wild Willy's air boat tour to see alligators which was great. We saw alligators, turtles, snakes and eagles. The room was nice and had a small kitchen with a microwave a large bathroom, 2 full beds and a pull out couch. We had 2 room together as we had out daughter and husband with us and we split the kids between the 2 rooms. we used the pool each night but the weather was cool and the kids didn't mind at all. The lazy river was heated and nice but you have to buy a float for $7.00 because of COVID they don't let you use a float but they are allowing you just to walk around in it. The kids loved it. We ate dinner out except the last night we ate at the dinner inside the hotel. the food was ok 12.00 for a personal size pizza which isn't to bad. Magic Kingdom wants 10.00 for a hot dog, chips and a soda. The staff were all friendly especially the front desk staff. I forget the girls name but she was thin with long blond hair. She could do enough for you. You can't print your return flight tickets there because of COVID they took away the computers but she printed them for us on the front desk computer for us. We had her at check in and for the plane tickets and she was so so friendly. Again because of COVID they don't make or clean your rooms but you can call for towels or what ever and they will bring them to you. if you rent a car its $9.00 per night to park but they have security patrolling the lots and the hotel area so we all felt safe. This hotel had better prices than Disney's hotels and with the pools and the lazy river it was so so much cheaper. The grounds, pool area and hotel are clean and they have a bowling alley for I believe $9.00 per adult to an hour plus a game room. All in all the Cabana is a great place to stay and I would defiantly stay there again.

My husband, children, and I decided to take a much needed vacation. Upon arrival I waited in line to check in. This took a little bit with confusion from a new employee but was quickly fixed. We did a standard room and it was plenty big for us. We weren’t there for the room so we didn’t need a big one. The pools and lazy river were all open but it was cold outside. The kids enjoyed it still. The hideaway bar was good but get a floater added to your drink if you want any alcohol in it. The diner was average but the employees are very nice. It’s expensive so make sure you want what you’re getting or just get fries. The delivery from park to resort is very useful for long vacations. Our fridge wasn’t working they immediately replaced it. They did a half way cleaning (middle of our stay they cleaned the room they don’t do daily which we didn’t mind) the gift shop had plenty options. Starbucks has the regular menu and prices husband used it daily but a few times they would forget he asked no whip cream. Didn’t complain though. The price wasn’t bad plus five day park hopper was nice. Just wish it had been warmer lol. We did Disney two days as well and it was easy to catch an Uber to and from. You can get food etc delivered just meet to pick it up outside the front lobby door. If you get a standard room you don’t have a microwave but there are some down by the soda machines. We did the refillable mugs but because it’s so far away from the room it wasn’t worth it. Also the mug has a chip so it’s scanned for the drink to fill and has time constraints. Sometimes you’d go to fill it and get all the foam and no drink and had to wait to fill it again. Breakfast is good but the bacon sucks, always burnt and too crunchy. The steak is good at lunch/dinner they give you a ton of fries if you order just fries. The nachos aren’t very good. Bring marshmallows if you want to roast them or make s’mores- 4 sticks in a bag are $2 but s’more kits are expensive. The fire pits are nice at night so long as you don’t get stuck with another family who can’t control their kids or their language. Staff is really nice no matter where you are in the resort.

The esthetics of the resort are second to none. Aside from the TVs in the room, I could have been in a hotel circa 1960 and not known any different. Everything was clean, staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Transportation to and from the theme parks made our stay so much more convenient.
