We go to Walt Disney World every year during the Holidays and even though this year has been challenging we decided to still go. Since our favorite Resort was not yet opened we decided to try The Boardwalk Villas. One of the main reasons was so that we could walk to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We were trying to limit ourselves from utilizing the Disney transportation service during this covid time as much as possible. The Resort was very nice but if I stay there again I will pick a room that has a shorter walk to the elevator. We also opted not to do valet baggage service or housekeeping service this visit. This villa had a full kitchen as well as a washer and dryer which was very nice. I do have one complaint though and this involves ALL Disney Resorts. When we came back to our room after being at the Park the first day I noticed that the trash had been emptied and at first I thought housekeeping had come by, We had opted out of that service and upon further observation our towels that we had used were still on the bathroom floor. We had also put the Do Not Disturb notice on the door when we left to go out that day. After calling to find out what was going on we were told that this a "Security Check" that they do everyday to all of the Resorts rooms whether you have a Do Not Disturb notice on your door or not. (Disney Travelers this is in the fine print) so be sure to check it out. We were NOT AT ALL pleased with this especially during this pandemic plus we had fully sanitized our room ourselves upon arrival. We talked to a Manger in housekeeping during that telephone call expressing our dislike and the fact that we didn't know what was touched during that "Security Check". We asked many times but were never given a satisfactory answer on what was involved in this so called "Security Check". By the way you can schedule them to come when you are in the room which is exactly what we did and we wanted a member of housekeeping management to come by. They came by the next day at the time we requested with mask, gloves, and spray bottle took a quick look and that was it. So Travelers be on the alert of this as it happens at all of the Disney Resorts. I will from now on be sure to secure any and all valuables and anything else before I ever leave my room again. So I will take off 1 point of the five point review because of this.…
Situated between Epcot and Disney Studios. Very convenient to walk to either park or take the boat if you prefer. Check-In desk very accommodating. Missed all the boardwalk performances because of Covid19. Disney very strict with protective measure of wearing masks, social distancing and hand sanitizers readily available. For that we THANK YOU! Loved to hear cast members telling guests to put on their masks and wear them correctly. So many people just don’t get the seriousness of the disease.....Disney does!!!! Not all cast members but the majority are keeping us safe. We’ll be back to stay next year again at this fabulous resort!
I just stayed in a one bedroom Villa and all I can say is, whoever cleaned my room did a fantastic job. There wasn’t a speck of dust, a bit of dirt or a fingerprint to be seen! Also the room was huge and the bed was very comfortable. I will definitely be staying here the next time I come to WDW.
Left the Contemporary hotel to try something new for a few days before checking into a house that we rented for the rest of the month. Big mistake. Not only is the staff here unpleasant and not happy to assist you they are not knowledgeable about what is actually going on. I needed some kind of assistance with helping my daughter with her virtual learning. I originally planned to take a half day for her and just go to a park but then found out there was testing. I needed an extra hour or so. Or a quiet place for her to work. One person on the phone told us to go to the pool. ( it’s also the middle of a storm here) front desk told me they are sold out. Someone else told me it’s a housekeeping issue. After contacting DVC the property is most certainly not sold out. Not even close this week. I can only imagine there is not an abundance of people trying to get into the boardwalk hotel on a Tuesday in the middle of covid and school year. But hey.. they need my room at 11AM sharp. On another note.... having a sign on your door knob that says occupied does not mean that they won’t come in. One night we were at the park. I left all my valuables out. Laptops iPads phone. Jewelry. Assuming no one would enter our room. When I got back the garbage had been taken out. Next day. Taking a nap. Phone rings that someone is at my door to take out garbage. Next day... Loud knocking over and over. They come in to take out garbage. And then again. My daughter is on a zoom call. Someone comes in to take out the garbage. So apparently privacy here is not an option. We are a disney loving family who visits the parks almost every month. So the level of not even an attempt of pixie dust to help my family out is beyond upsetting.. I would never stay here again. I am use to the smiling friendly helpful staff that hopefully is still around. …
Escape the buses and journey by foot to Disney’s Epcot from the Boardwalk Villas. The Disney Boardwalk offers contact-less checkin. Rooms are spacious, the villas have a full kitchen, large master bedroom and bathroom. The villas also have a washer and dryer and two balconies per villa. Walk back to the Boardwalk for a splash in the pools after spending the morning or day at Epcot. Families with small children love the ease of getting back to the room for nap time. The boardwalk outside the resort offers a great place to stroll day and night to find yummy food and ice cream. Check to make sure restaurants are open during the pandemic. One tip, try to avoid rooms on the first floor facing resort parking, car headlights can become annoying as they shine across the room.
