We stayed here one night, on December 2nd. We got to the hotel around midnight, checked in and went to our room. As soon as we got to the room we noticed dust everywhere. My husband and I, like always, did a quick sweep for bugs.... I was SHOCKED. There were dead roaches under the beds, horribly stained mattresses, and the room smelled like mold. We spoke with the front desk person, which when we checked in they were nice and respectful, but when I mentioned the bugs and dirt and the issues with the room all of a sudden they were rude and tried to act like we were making it up. Mind you, I took videos and pictures of the actual LIVE ROACHES we found crawling around. They put us in a suite after an hour or so of complaining l, which was hardly any different. We found bugs crawling on the pillow and because they wouldn’t refund us the night we HAD to stay there. I’m thoroughly disappointed in how this hotel was ran and the whole experience here was miserable. If you have kids, DO NOT stay here! We ended up going to the four points by Sheraton down the street and it was 10000x better than this. Take a look at the photos for proof.

Room Tip: Don’t stay here, no heated pool like advertised, $100 deposit and none of it is worth the issues...

I thought I’d tell you about my experience at a certain hotel while I have the time in quarantine. This is also advice for people wanting to stay on International Drive. After my holiday had been cut short due to Covid 19, I was only there for one week (was meant to be there for two weeks) I was actually relieved as the hotel I was staying in was absolutely horrendous. I was staying In the Monumental Movieland Hotel and needless to say it was hellish! The hotel looked like it was falling apart when we arrived, that instantly put us off. The staff were very rude to us and didn’t make us feel welcome at all and that wasn’t the worst of it. The cleanliness of the hotel was diabolical! Our room was so dirty and dusty, the hallways had a very unpleasant smell and we felt very uncomfortable staying there. The safe, phone & clock was not working in the room which we was surprised as they are basic things you need in a hotel. We had complained about the safe not working about 3 times a day, yet nothing was done. One day we complained, the staff asked us to find the handy man to ask him to fix it for us! We was so shocked at this disgusting behaviour. The electrics in our room were all hanging out and looked very dodgy, which we reported. Again nothing was done! We complained so much and nothing was done, we haven’t even got our money back for the week we didn’t stay there. We were so disappointed and upset that we had experienced this, it was a dream holiday that got ruined. Not only did we experience all of this, but we had someone knocking on our door at 3am! We was so scared and obviously didn’t answer. There was lots of shouting late at night which was also quite frightening as we didn’t feel safe here in the first place. I know it isn’t the most expensive hotel but you’d think the most simplest of things would have been met! I’ve got pictures if anyone’s want to see, or if anyone wants to ask anything I’m more than happy to help. I am sorry if anyone has booked her for future but I just wanted to pre warn people. I know some people have had okay experiences there but I wanted to share my experience. Hope this helps anyone for the future. I must say the time we did spend at Disney and Universal was amazing and I am definitely going back but will stay somewhere else! Thank you

First of all this hotel is a 20 minute walk from CityWalk, so our whole stay we didn't need to uber which saved us a ton of money. We REALLY wanted to go to Universal and the only way we could afford it was to stay at this extremely cheap hotel. I am truly grateful that our stay here turned out to be just fine, we didn't encounter any of the issues that other reviewers talked about. No cockroaches, the staff was nice, it smelled fine in our room. We had a room on the first floor with no carpet so I'm guessing that was helpful. Obviously its not a five star hotel, you come here because you can't afford a nicer hotel that close to the parks. There's a pretty basic pool, but we still enjoyed swimming in it. So I feel like I got a great value over all. The worst part was just reading the bad reviews and feeling afraid I was gonna get eaten by cockroaches.

When we arrive at the Hotel the reception staff asked are you checking in and asked for my passport, and gave us our room card. We where given a room on the third floor at the back of the premises facing the pool. On giving the room a check we found these problem, The safe did not work, nor did the room phone and the Kettle, I took the long walk from our room to the reception and complained to the staff, he go on the phone and reported them, he told me maintenance would be at the room soon. I had just got back to the room and he arrived, he checked what we had reported promptly fixed them, to our delight. Over the next couple of day we notice that the smoke detector did not have a battery and one of the lights was loose and we could not use it. Over all the hotel needs to be refurbished, I do under stand that this would cost a lots of $'s , the best about the rooms they where cleaned every day that we where there and it was nice to return to a clean room, thanks to the Maids that cleaned there. Advise for the manager, Make sure that everything in the rooms is in full working order from the Safe, Lighting (Lamps socket not powering 3 or more items) and the room is well presented. so that your guest will not be able to complain and enjoy there stay. I have been to Orlando and stayed on International drive 5 times in the last 6 years, and reviewed all the hotels, I am very easy going and use the room for drinks something to eat and relax after a full day at the parks. not much to ask but when you have to pay to get there from the UK it can be very costly and this is why I like a nice, neat and clean room that are comfortable to stay in.
