I have stayed at many hotels in this chain, and I am very disappointed with this property. The prices are incredibly high (e.g. a sandwich and bag of chips that would normally cost me $3.50 at a gas station near home cost me over $17 at this hotel) and the rooms are mediocre. Yes, my room is much larger than a typical hotel, but there was a lot of just-plain-empty space, as well as a mattress that was so sponge-llke that it hurt my back (sleeping on the floor was better than sleeping on the spongy mattress.) I really wanted to like this property; I should mention that the staff was excellent -- all of my interactions with the front desk or room service was very friendly, competent, and customer-oriented, but the rooms and food prices are nuts. I WANT to like this property, but I just can't...

I stayed there three nights and enjoyed the activities, restaurants, and my beautiful suite so much that I never left the resort area. The high points: * My suite was stunning: views of the pool/golf area, marble baths (full bath and a separate half bath), two balconies -- gorgeous! * The gym is one of the nicest hotel gyms ever, with Pelotons, free weights, group exercise options, etc. Aaron was helpful and patient with my questions about the free weight options, and I took a great (and much needed) meditation class with him. * The spa. Had a great therapeutic massage with Paul -- one of the best I've ever had. The women's locker room area has a whirlpool jacuzzi area, steam room, and sauna. The lighting in the steam room is a little weird (very bright) and not that relaxing but the up side is you can see how clean it is in there. They also have a nice selection of snacks and tea. * The spa restaurant. Get that blue crab salad. So good. * The spa pool. No kids allowed. Very relaxing. Heated pool with an outdoor jacuzzi next to it. Great service from servers and pool attendants. There are other pool options for families that looked awesome, too. * The walk/run path around the properties is very well maintained and allows for other exercise options. I had a very nice morning walk there and enjoyed seeing the extensive grounds and the gardens that supply some of the food for the restaurants. * That Ritz-Carlton service! I was very impressed with everyone I dealt with -- from the front desk to the bell staff on my way out. So many great employees. Thanks to the front desk for sending up some wine and dessert to my room in honor of my Platinum status with Bonvoy. Very nice, and I'm so grateful. * Lots of restaurant/bar options between the Ritz and the neighboring JW Marriott. I've stayed in that JW before a few years ago, and it looks like it's being renovated now. I can't really think of any big low points. I did have an issue with room service forgetting a bottle opener for my club soda that took about 45 minutes to address, but I know they were very busy that night. Two of the Pelotons in the gym were impossible for me to adjust the settings on due to broken handles. But if those are the worst things I can say, that's telling! I would stay here again, for sure. This property and the JW Marriott at Bonnet Creek seem to be among the nicest Bonvoy options in Orlando. I highly recommend them both for fellow Bonvoy loyalists.

Attended a meeting at this property. First time at a Ritz-Carleton and was a little disappointed perhaps my expectations were higher than they should have been. The little details to the property are being neglected- covering on the ironing board falling off and when I asked to replace it was told there were not extra's. Every day the toiletries in my room changed brands -i had 3 different brands one day in my shower. Beds need replacing big time! The staff were excellent and all customer service oriented so they lived up to that standard. I am not a frequent Marriott customer but the higher end properties in my preferred hotel chain (Hilton) seem to pay more attention to details.
