Beautiful hotel. Clean, helpful staff. Extremely close to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure Parks. Easy walk or water taxi available. Pool gets a bit crowded and it’s difficult to tell when persons have left the pool so you can get an umbrella. Poolside cocktails were very nice.
Bell boy broke husbands luggage and nothing was done. Security just walked in our room no attempt to call before hand said second warning for nose compliant we where just watching tv. When security walked in we where asleep he woke my little brother up and was staring at him tell him last warning, also nothing done about this nor was there even a report for nose compliant filed. We will never be staying with or recommending this hotel.
Something in the room made me so sick at night my throat would hurt and I would be coughing all night. At the parks I would be ok till I got back to the room. Setting my allergies off all night I couldn’t sleep
Love this hotel! You get an experience as soon as you walk in and smell the amazing scent that wafts through the air con. We are a family of 5 (two 14 year olds and an 11 year old). I do think this will be the last year we all stay in the same room, there was enough room for us this year- but probably only just. The biggest draw to this hotel is the proximity to the park, an extremely short walk. The early park and express passes add to the bonus. Due to the time difference from arriving from the Uk we were up early enough to get into parks with the early admission, we had been on nearly every ride by lunchtime so it was back to the hotel to relax in the pool. If you are wanting Hagrids or Velocicoaster, aim to be at the park gates by around 7:10 the gates open around 7:45 and unfortunately it is then a run, we did this and were getting off the ride at 8:05 where the wait for Hagrids was at 90 minutes already- was worth it though. All staff are amazing and attentive, we will definitely be back…
When I went to the hard rock hotel, they had 10 guitars currently in circulation, with 5 going to be repaired. There is never 15 with how hard guitars are to look after, and for the 650 rooms that is a terrible number that leaves many disappointed and unable to use the service they flaunt around. Though the guitars are expensive themselves, they made no effort to explain the difficulty it is to retrieve a guitar and how few there are. The rest of the hotel not connected to this issue was good, but this was a serious let down leaving a sour taste to this establishment.
The hard rock hotel was excellent, it was my first time staying there however I do go to Universal twice a month. It was my cousins first time at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure we had a great experience not only at the parks but the proximity of where the hotel was to the parks. We both got welcomed by an excellent valet team who greeted us with great professionalism. We went inside to check in to the front desk and answered any questions that I had about not only the parks but the hotel itself. The check in was very easy, and nonstressful also our room was ready before the scheduled time. I would definitely stay at this property again and I would recommend it to anybody who is going to the parks to ride the water taxi which is super convenient. Thanks to Universal and Hard Rock for your great hospitality see you soon!…
Very nice vacation with family. Everything is easy by texting the concierge: get more towels, make reservations at restaurants, etc. The pool slide is also a must! It would be nice to have the possibility to use the same payment method everywhere: at the hotel and on the theme parks.
Good food, expecting it to be expensive but actually fairly standard for the area, nice booth, friendly service, nachos were not great (cold watery cheese) but all else was good, enjoyed the meal, decent Sierra Nevada hazy IPA on draft and great desserts.
We stayed 5 nights at the HRH. The rooms are worn and not everything functioned the way we had hoped (clogged sink and shower, broken refrigerator), but the staff attended to the problems immediately. All the staff we encountered at this hotel was friendly and provided excellent service. The pool is fantastic with activities all day and night. All common areas are kept clean and the proximity to the parks can't be beat. We have stayed at the Royal Pacific and found the rooms to be a little nicer with all the same great amenities, so that would be why I gave the Hard Rock 4/5 stars.
The pros- Location is hard to beat (a short walk or boat ride to the door of universal studios) Large, warm pool Excellent DJs in the afternoon Lots of sunbeds with free beach towels Comfy beds The cons- Very pricey food and drink (especially in the supermarket) Pricing not transparent - many (over priced) items not marked so at till can be quite a shock! No response from management to suggest transparent pricing during our stay Housekeeping poor (had to ask numerous times for coffee to be replenished) Bathrooms dates and very tight Rooms can be noisy at night and in the morning if over looking the pool Extra park hours mean that you don’t use fast pass so don’t really benefit you unless you get up hours before the rope drops! It’s looking tired in places (eg peeling wallpaper) Would be really encouraging if management addressed these basic concerns (a quick and easy win for guests is to ensure everything is priced and would like to understand a rationale for this please)…
