I am writing to provide feedback on my recent disappointing experience at the Grand Floridian. When I first arrived, the parking attendant told me there is no valet parking and sent me to the spa entrance. When I arrived there, thinking it was the main entrance, I asked a cast member for help. They told me there is no valet and there are no bell hops to help with bags. After five minutes of confusing conversation, a hotel patron was able to point me in the right direction. When I arrived to the correct entrance, valet was extremely slow. They also seemed confused as to why I would need help with my bags (I was traveling alone with a two year old). When I got to the front desk, I asked for my bags to be sent to my room. I also asked for toddler rails for the bed. I went up to my room and neither my bags nor the toddler rails arrived. Over half an hour later, I called back and listened to 15 minutes of holding music before reaching bell services. They stated that nobody had informed them that I was ready for my bags. I then had to make a call to resort services again to ask for toddler rails, which eventually arrived. The following day my two year old son was taking his nap and the do not disturb sign was on the door. I was awoken by a barrage of violent pounding and housekeeping repeatedly using their key to try to enter my room (the deadbolt was on). My son was in my arms so I was unable to go tell them to come back later and I couldn’t yell out and disturb him. So I had to endure the most violent knocking and banging I have ever heard, all while repeatedly using their key card and banging the door against the deadbolt. As if that wasn’t enough, they then started calling. I was able to answer and asked why on earth my door was being assaulted when the do not disturb sign is on. The housekeeping manager stated this was a “safety issue.” I understand if a room was occupied for days with no answer, but this was our first full day. What is the purpose of the do not disturb sign if I’m going to be incessantly disturbed? They asked when they could return to clean and I gave them a time. However, when I returned from the parks that evening nobody had cleaned the room. I called housekeeping and was told they left for the day. The next day we ordered room service breakfast. The eggs Benedict was the world’s driest English muffin with tomato on only one of the halves and cold eggs with probably jarred hollandaise sauce on the side also cold. This came with a “side” of dry arugula no dressing. Finally, we were ready to check out. It took 45 minutes to get in touch with Bell services for assistance with my bags. After my bags were loaded, it took another 20 minutes in a line to get the valet to release my keys to me. This obviously did not meet my expectations and was certainly not worth the $600/night we paid.

Hotel's Favorite
Restoration to grandeur continues. We stayed for 3 night in the “Boca Chica” outer building, with a lagoon view. The building was JUST completely updated. The renovated rooms are gorgeous. The hotel is spotless and a timeless classic and the renovations continue. The lobby during the Christmas season is spectacular. The walk to the quick service food location? Gasparillo, can be a bit far. I wish there was another location more central to all of the outer buildings. The service was spectacular. Elise from Citricos went above and beyond. She was amazing. Citricos has been renovated as well. I loved it. The cozy chairs, the wide and spacious marble tables. Superb.

I’m not a Disney person, but I was in town for a family wedding. I had heard about the Christmas decor at the grand Floridian so a few of us wanted to check it out. They do Christmas in a grand way. It’s just wow! We walked in the front door and started to take some family photos at the entrance when we were greeted by a wonderful young man named Zach. Zach offered to take some photos and then showed us around the hotel, including the beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby and the gingerbread houses. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon and I’m sure he didn’t really have the time but he never acted rushed in anyway. This beautiful property is so well maintained I hope I have a chance to go back again someday

We’ve been to GF approximately 10-12 times over the last 7 years. The service has really gone down over that time. They failed to clean our room one day on our last trip and then failed to clean it after we called the front desk to clean it while we went to dinner. They made that right by giving us a free night on our next stay. Fast forward to that next stay and we walk back into the room from the first park day at 845 pm and guess what it’s not clean. Must be a trend.

Despite the renovations taking place throughout the external areas of the main lobby, the inside, in its classic Victorian style does not disappoint. Beautiful marble floors, bespoke carpets with hidden details such as Cinderella’s carriage and gorgeous decoration. For a resort that’s mean to have the highest staff to guest ratio this was not felt at check in, with several guests ahead of us awaiting check in. There were more staff at when we checked in to Disney’s Pop Century Resort earlier in the week so this was disappointing to see from a deluxe resort. The lift situation in the lobby is also a bit confusing. It appears that there is only one lift (opposite the grand staircase) in use to reach the 2nd level where you access the monorail system so it gets really busy (there are several staircases however one member of our party uses a mobility scooter so could not use the stairs). When speaking to a disinterested cast member on check out she pointed over to two other lifts that we had seen however were clearly designated for concierge and suite guests only. If these lifts are available for all guests the signs need updating to make this more clear. We were allocated a room in Sago Cay, which is no more than a 5minute walk from the main lobby and the boat to MK and 10mins to the monorail. It’s also about a minute away from the quick service location Gasparilla Island Grill, where you can refill your resort mugs at a Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine, as well as purchase some of the biggest sub sandwiches I’ve seen. This was only open until midnight however, so if arriving back to the resort after this you’d be unable to refill your resort mugs so some refill stations in each of the outbuildings or water stations would be an added touch: The modernisation of the each of the outbuildings surprisingly fits really well, but it would be nice to see a few more period touches throughout. The room itself was gorgeous and enormous with 2 queen beds and enough room to fit suitcases underneath the beds. Plenty of storage. There are several options for travel to the Magic Kingdom, walk, boat or monorail. While everyone’s first instinct is to use the monorail for Magic Kingdom, they are running less frequently than they used to and are crowded most of the time so you may not always get on the first one so can take up to 30mins if busy, the boats, however, are a much quicker option…taking no more than 5mins to get from room to Magic Kingdom. We mostly used the walkway between the resort and Magic Kingdom as it was right next to Sago Cay and took approx 15-20mins to walk, and is really pleasant and you get great views over Seven Seas Lagoon. We even saw a deer one night and a heron the next day. I know this sounds like a mostly positive review, however, the money spent did not feel worth the experience received when compared to other resorts on property such as Yacht & Beach Club or Pop Century (a deluxe resort should always be incomparable to a value resort). Unfortunately, I would choose to stay at another resort property over coming back to the Grand Floridian in future.

Do not stay here WARNING !!! If you want to pay a fortune and expect the convenience of the MONORAIL - Just don’t do it !!! After all the enormous PRICE HIKES that Disney has introduced …. THEY HAVE CUT BACK GREATLY ON THE NUMBER OF TRAINS THAT THEY RUN ON THE MONORAIL. The wait to get on the monorail now is over ONE HOUR ! AND it is always STANDING ROOM ONLY !! ALL DISNEY HAS TO DO IS REWIND THEIR CUTBACKS AND PUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF TRAINS THE TRACK THAT THEY HAD IN 2018 and you would have no wait and a place to sit ! DO NOT SPEND EXTRA MONEY DEPENDING ON TYE MONORAIL - totally NOT WORTH IT ! I am so frustrated I could scream !!!

This was the 6thh resort we were stopping in at. We stopped and told the security guy that we were there to find medallions. We would not be parking but rather that the driver would stay in the car- we would pull up to check in- one party would get out run in and acquire the medallions and we would be on our way. He advised us that we could not be allowed on. That we could however drive to the monorail station Take the Monorail to come BACK to the resort and get the medallions So we couldn't drive on be there for less than 5 min NOT take up parking BUT we could TAKE THE MONORAIL and then be on the premises???? How does this make sense? We proceeded to the other resorts of which only 2 of them had any issues with what we were doing- only this one.... NOT impressed. So we talked to someone at Disney who said that we should be find to go on- so the next night we go back. It was even worse. So the first night The guard was extremely rude would not let us finish speaking cut us off abruptly and using a tone of intimidation. We couldn't even ask anything it was extremely rude and unnecessary and unprofessional so then The SECOND NIGHT- after we were told at Disney that we should be fine. THE SAME GUARD AND HIS COLLEAGUE- were rude again but this time we parked off site and my partner walked in- they call him over to tell him it wasn't safe to walk on the road- he wasn't on the road UNTIL they called him over- then they questioned him repeatedly about why he was there and hassled him until they finally let him in. He goes to the front desk who tells him that the guard shouldn't have done that and that we were perfectly fine to drive on and the guard had crossed the line. My partner got the medallions then walked back to the road and met me. The whole incident didn't need to be that complicated- and the guard didn't need to be so rude!!!!

This was our second time staying here, the first was in Nov 2019. During our first visit, we stayed at the Club level in an outer building and didn’t love it. This time, we stayed in the main building and had a much better experience. The good: -Newly renovated Club level room on floor 4 was comfortable and spacious-enough for our family of 3. It also had a lot of power outlets which was very useful. -The Club food and beverage options were convenient. The morning and evening offerings were hearty enough that we didn’t need to purchase breakfast or dinner most days. -Staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered groceries from Instacart and unfortunately our delivery person didn’t drop off all items. While we didn’t locate the items, the staff was kindly allowed me to look in the fridges and freezers in the back. -Our room faced the water and had a lengthy balcony. On our last night, we were happily surprised that we could watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our balcony, complete with the soundtrack played in the courtyard below. It was an excellent way to see the show! -We used the MinnieVan service to/from the airport and to get to a few parks (Typhoon Lagoon and Hollywood Studios). Each time, the drivers were on time, helpful, friendly, and efficient. -This hotel is perfectly located on the Monorail for both Magic Kingdom and Epcot. -Really liked the Basin White shop for useful gifts and souvenirs. -The sofa bed was surprisingly plush and comfortable for sleeping. Could Be Improved; -There were tiny ants in our bathroom. Not a ton but enough that it was surprising, given that the room was recently renovated. It wasn’t super noticeable but made us wary of leaving any food uncovered in the room. -Less of a comment on the hotel and more of a heads up: this hotel isn’t ideally located to access parks aside from Magic Kingdom and Epcot. So, make sure you know how to get to/from other parks (because we got some bad directions leaving Hollywood Studios, heading back to our hotel. -Bring earplugs for sleeping: It’s a hotel intended for families with young kiddos so you can expect to hear kids running and yelling outside your door at night. Also, weirdly, at 5 am on our last morning, there was loud (Christmas?) music coming from the Magic Kingdom and that woke us up. -Know the schedule of the Club: food isn’t always available so plan accordingly.

Wonderful WDW experience from beginning to end at Grand Floridian. Our first stay at Grand Floridian for our recent Mother and daughter trip to WDW. Could not have wished for a better place to stay whilst visiting Disney World. The location was incredible. Renovated rooms were spectacular- so pretty and every practical amenity to make our stay perfect. Loved the transportation options - we made use of them all - Monorail, ferry, bus and by foot. Each fantastic and offering a different perspective. Had some quick easy breakfast meals and room service twice after huge days at the parks. We had a great spa experience and also enjoyed the service by the pool. Despite being in the middle of renovations we were not inconvenienced at all. So professional. Would not hesitate to recommend and would definitely stay again whenever we come to WDW

Dreamed of staying here - not worth the $ This had been a dream for x20+ years to stay here. We were greeted at reception and our honeymoon stay were given x2 single beds. This was soon changed to x2 queen size beds. The Mary poppins decor was pleasant enough. The double bathroom sinks were great apart from the long dark hairs in the sink from the previous guest. A pillow had x3 stains on it when we arrived. We were keen to get ready and go to WDW. There wasn’t an iron or ironing board in the room and had to wait x30 mins for each to be brought up to the room. The staff looked tired and lacking Disney sparkle which we are used to at the other resorts we have stayed at many many times since 1988. The large swimming pool outside the accommodation was great - but the building work on the roofs close by was just way too loud to relax. We went to another pool where the adult slide was out of action. Went back to the Accom building and went through the flyer to the back to get a lake view towards magic kingdom. There was a member of staff painting the white wood work and the concrete step we were stood on was crumbling under foot. Not great. We decided to go to Mickey’s store upstairs from reception - mercantle - I believe it was called….. we collect resort and regular pins. No grand Floridian pins available - all sold out. Asked about nightmare before Christmas / Hocus Pocus / Mickey Halloween popcorn buckets / all sold out. Went to use the rest room on the ground floor - the middle tap when I went to wash my hands was hanging off with loose pipes. Grafitti in the toilets. The large aviary structure in foyer has damage to it. The photo pass staff on the 1st floor with Cinderella’s shoe were not engaging at all and were bored out of their minds on more than one occasion when we went past. Other grounds of the hotel have scaffolding and ruin the look / feel. Really wasn’t warned about any of this before our stay. Took a walk to magic kingdom. On return had to wait almost an hour for a small boat to take us back to the resort. All a pretty unpleasant experience this hotel for £500+ per night. Sad to say - we definitely won’t be back. The transportation bus service were very nice and made our day. The real flower displays around the place are a nice touch. When we checked out there wasn’t even a THANKYOU for staying with us. Nothing. Very poor. We left bags with the team at the front of the hotel. When my bag was given back there was a collectors pin missing from it. Mentioned it to the staff member who shrugged his shoulders!
