No matter the age, this hotel is amazing, from the smeel at the door, to the cast members, and jst the chance of seeing the fireworks from Magic Kingdom is so cool, having the monorail and the boat to go to the park. The restaurants are expensive but worth it. If you have the chance do not hesitate, most magical hotel at disneyworld

Booked for one night only to celebrate my 60th birthday as special treat . Amazing hotel but definitely very expensive and probably not worth it for one night in order to make most of the resort, wish we could have stayed longer but it’s location and quality of rooms and the setting are spectacular and I would definitely return

This hotel is very convenient to Disney World and the rooms are fine. The facilities are fine and the lobby is beautiful. However, the staff really has room for improvement. Every single person I dealt with here almost without exception seemed to be operating at about 40%- absolutely no sense of urgency (in a place that literally centers around rushing every single day) and slow to the point of incompetence. Nothing was efficient - from the luggage being brought to the room, to the process of picking up an Amazon delivery, to the bus drivers, most especially to everyone who worked in Gasparilla - each process seemed designed to take as much time as possible and make the least sense. After LONG days at Disney World with children, the last thing anyone needs to hear is that Gasparilla threw out their mobile food order because the pickup window was missed - and no they couldn’t just remake it, the entire order had to be placed again. This is supposedly the ‘best’ place to stay at Disney World and having just stayed here, I don’t even want to think about what the other places might be like.

Start to finish, my daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful time at the Grand Floridian and the Disney parks. Convenience to the bus and monorail services were excellent. All staff were wonderful and we enjoyed the convenience of watching the fireworks, eating at the cafes, walking the grounds as well as walking easily to the nearby Polynesian Resort. Absolutely recommend the Grand Floridian for a carefree vacation.

We were lucky to be given the opportunity to stay here for the second half of our holiday. From the reviews we were definitely a little nervous that it would not meet our expectations. We couldn't be more wrong! From the moment you walk into the lobby, the grandeur of the place is breathtaking. It is elegance at its best. It is lovely, clean and fresh and in no way shows any sign of wear or tear as a few reviews claimed. We were fortunate to time our trip to see the magnificent Easter egg display in the lobby. They were intricate masterpieces and depicted Disney themes, all out of chocolate. Our favourite was the Up display. We stayed in one of the outer buildings near the water. The room was a little old fashioned, but meticulously clean. It was very well maintained with no wear and tear signs. The room was very big, with a separate double sink and separate toilet area. We had 2 double beds which were incredibly comfortable. From our balcony we had a view in the distance of the castle and could watch the fireworks at night. At checkin we were told housekeeping would be every other day, but during our stay they came every day and did a full housekeeping service. The location is everything in this hotel. In 7 minutes from the lobby of the hotel, you can be right in Magic Kingdom (using the monorail). We also used the boat as the stop was right outside our building. There is also a beautiful walkway from Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian which we also did one morning. This took about 15 minutes. The grounds are impeccably kept. The pool areas are lovely with the most comfortable sun loungers in any of the resorts. The flowerbeds and shrubbery were gorgeous. The staff in this hotel deserve a special mention. Everyone is happy!! They were all so friendly and went out of their way to say hello. It has always been our dream to experience a few days in the Grand Floridian and we are so glad we have. If you are thinking of it and are put off with the negative reviews, just book it and experience it for yourself. You will not be disappointed!

My family booked Grand Floridian as it was one of the few options left as we booked late for the March visit. I was initially intimidated based on the negative reviews here before traveling but overall, my family had a very pleasant stay. Our last travel was to an Aman property 2 months ago so I don’t think our standards are low. When I checked in I specifically asked for no moldy, smelly rooms (and there were renovation happening at other buildings during our stay, so perhaps we got one of the newly refurbished rooms). Our room wasn’t ready for 1.5-2 hours after the check in time but this was the only hiccup during the stay. Our room was very clean (walls, carpets, furniture etc), housekeeping came daily with sheets spotless/wrinkle-less for bedding and cute towel arrangements, and food was great for take outs and dine-in at the cafe and narcoosee’s. Service was terrific at restaurants, pool bars, bell service (we had grocery and Amazon deliveries to our room), transportation, etc. I feel bad for those who did not have a similar experience as we did, but don’t be intimidated by all the reviews here. We would come back to Grand Floridian.

Not 5 star luxury would rate as a 2-3 star. The main point on staying on property was ease… it was anything but that. They did not serve hot breakfast for any option, including room service, before 7:15 am. This does not work if you have access to the park for early hours. We had to do Uber eats to feed the kids before going to parks. Overall food options were sparse and horrible. Do not waste your money staying here. We were originally staying at Four Seasons, this IS NOT the Four Seasons, and I repeat, this is NOT the Four Seasons. Highly recommend staying there instead of the hotel (it’s not a resort). Pool doesn’t even have waiters walking around, you have to walk up to the bar. This is not luxurious or a resort. They should not include resort in the name.

In terms of proximity to Magic Kingdom, the Floridian is top notch. The cast members we interacted with were generally fantastic, super helpful and kind. But the rooms are just fine - they're definitely outdated, and housekeeping didn't come ONCE over three days. The phone system went down the night of our arrival and I waited over 10 minutes on hold to get our luggage sent up. Finally, I had to walk back over to the front desk several buildings away. Not having a desk at each tower is NOT luxury. For the price, I would just not stay here again.

My plan was to do Disney with my kids once so we splurged and booked at the Grand Floridian, for which I had the best memories from visiting as a kid. Unfortunately the hotel is no longer top-notch (or close to worth the extreme price) and the rooms are the standard of a Hampton Inn at best. Most annoyingly, we stayed four nights and our room wasn’t cleaned once. Also the staff was not helpful; some were rude and others seemed unable to attempt to override their computers giving them a “no” answer. The hotel (and Disney more generally) are also holding onto— in March 2022 —outdated Covid policies which means the hotel lobby feels empty, lots of things are unnecessarily closed, and thus there’s a lack of bang for your buck. We won’t be doing Disney again. Ever. And the Grand Floridian was the biggest waste of money of my lifetime.

My family and I recently stayed at the Grand Floridian. We had visited Walt Disney World twice before the pandemic, staying at both the Polynesian Village Resort and the Wilderness Lodge. Both of these experiences had been wonderful, and we were excited to stay at the Grand Floridian. It is clear that the property (particularly the rooms themselves) has not been maintained or upgraded appropriately. While the cost of the hotel sets expectations of a truly 5-star experience, we were underwhelmed, to say the least. The outside grounds, pools, and main lobby are all nice, yet in the building we actually stayed in, we found torn wallpaper, stained carpeting and towels, rusty stairs, moldy grout in the bath, and a half-consumed glass of wine in the stairwell that remained there for four days. The service was friendly but not nearly the caliber of a Ritz-Carlton or St. Regis, which this hotel is comparable in price to. My family visits Walt Disney World to have a magical time as guests, and this was quite disappointing. I find this to be even more concerning as a Walt Disney Company shareholder, as this is not the type of experience that will lead to return visits and loyalty to the Disney brand. I hope that this is addressed swiftly, and that the Grand Floridian will soon live up to its reputation once again.
