We booked our trip through Delta vacations. After a long flight, our whole family was tired. When we arrived at the hotel that delta set up for us, we were told they could not find our reservation. We had to call delta and Carlos, the staff member at the holiday inn counter was extremely helpful!! Once we finally got delta on the phone he spoke with them and straightened the whole mess out. We are extremely grateful if Carlos. Thank you

I'm a frequent traveler and stay 100-150+ IHG nights a year. I don't have many reviews of properties on TripAdvisor because.... I simply normally don't need to warn guests away from bad ones. You need to avoid this property. The room I received was BADLY in need of a renovation and had trash on the floor. And insects. IN the bed. Pictures posted from the video I took. It's quite rare to get a room with insects on the floor, let alone in the bed. It's quite disconcerting to look down and see wiggling all over your bed. Gross. Disgusting. Dirty. I asked the front desk to have management call for an explanation, no call after a week. When I called, the assistant mgr asked what room I was in because he didn't know. When I told him, he replied that they had inspected the room and found no insects. This is a neat trick considering two seconds earlier he had no idea what room I was in, and off the top of his head he knows 123 was inspected and insect free? And just how may rooms had reports of insects, anyway? In any case, he repeated several times that the GM was too busy to call any guests and generally had a spectacular 'I don't care' attitude. This management attitude is also on display in the quality and cleanliness of the rooms. I also read a review in which management claims they started renovating the property last year. If you're a Spire or Platinum guest, apparently don't expect to get one of the renovated rooms. The hotel insisted I pay $25 to receive a Spire upgrade that any other property in the entire network would provide for free (My IHG hotel in Thailand upgraded me without my asking to what could be best described as a palace. Here, I couldn't even get upgraded to a room without insects.) Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. You've been warned. There are multiple IHG properties in town, with a fantastic Holiday Inn Express literally a few steps up the street from this nightmare. Go there. Holiday Inn Express Nearest Universal is the name. I've been there three times in the past month, and it's great.

Response from IHG Service, Owner at Holiday Inn & Suites Across from Universal Orlando

Dear John T, Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay with us. I am truly sorry for the experiences that you had both in your room and with the staff, this is not the experience that we want our guests to have. The hotel went through an ownership and management change at the end of January 2020. The renovations that you are speaking of were due to start in Late May/Early June of 2020, however with the pandemic, these were delayed and started in September of this year. We do not yet have renovated product available and are doing our best to have these available Late December/Early January. I have attempted to look up your reservation so that I could contact you, however I do not see one in your name. Please feel free to contact the hotel and ask for me directly so that I may address your concerns. We appreciate all of our guests especially our Spire Elite guests and I want to make sure you are taken care of. Yours in Hospitality, Claudine Binz General Manager

Carlos did an absolutely amazing job with the check-in process, not only did he provide with a great room but my keys were immediately ready making the check in process quick and efficient. Furthermore the next day, I forgot to extend my reservation and Ariel was able to rectify the situation making my weekend enjoyable. They were perfect for this Orlando location making my visit to Disney worthwhile

My daughter and I travel to Orlando 4 to 5 times a year to visit Universal Orlando Resort (we are huge Harry Potter Fans annual pass holders). Anyway, the Holiday Inn and Suites Across from Universal is our go to hotel whenever we visit....and Tiffeney B. is one of the reasons Holiday Inn feels like our home away from home. She has truly become like family and we are always excited when we see her smile at check-in. The hotel is definitely close to Universal, and a variety of local restaurants. But the best part is the amazing staff and especially Tiffeney - on our first visit we mentioned that we were there for the Universal parks and to celebrate my daughter's birthday; when we came back at the end of the day there was a special birthday gift basket from Tiffeney to my daughter in our room - she is as much a part of our visit as the parks. We are always happy to see her and I know she is happy to see us. See you soon!

Since we had 2 doctor appointments on 2 consecutive days, we decided to just stay in Springfield, MO. rather than travel back and forth. We have stayed at this hotel before and we enjoyed it. We were upgraded to a suite and we loved the extra space. The living room area consists of a couch, TV, mini fridge, microwave oven and side tables, on which stands a coffee maker plus condiments. The staff is very friendly. The location is great as there are plenty of restaurants around, including one in the hotel. The extra room we had was greatly appreciated as we ate there all the time. The downside is, no free breakfast.
