My wife and I along with our friends just spent a week at the Sheraton Vistana Resort at 8800 Vistana Centre Drive, Needless to say we were disappointed due to a number of issues. The facilities themselves were very nice , but the lack of amenities and other problems more than offset the unit itself to where even an average rating was generous on our part. Here are the issues and problems we faced: 1.The bedsheet on the one of the double beds was bloody. 2.The bedsheet on the king bed was torn 3.Only one small bathroom soap and one wash cloth was provided for each bathroom, 4.No dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent was provided 5.Late in our stay we realized there was no broom 6.The vacuum cleaner canister was very full and needed to be emptied, which I did. Even with a cleaner canister, it still wouldn't pick up the pieces of a glass that had shattered 7. There were no frying pans 8. A swimming pool was right outside our residence , but it was comparitively small and it was therefore very difficult to secure poolside seating. The amenity issues we brought up throughout our stay were quickly addressed . However a rear door key access issue took 3 days to resolve. The electronic keys to our sunroom access into our residence from the pool didn't work that afternoon, though they did work on our other door. We went to the reception area to advise of the problem and were treated rudely .The agent curtly said we probably caused the key issue because of the way we were storing our keys, like near our cell phone etc. The new set of keys that were provided didn't work on either door when we returned to our residence. I went back to the reception area and was advised that security would let us in and an engineer would look at the rear door entry box.. Security arrived immediately and we got back inside our unit An engineer arrived shortly thereafter and advised the entire rear entry key box needed to be replaced, which he did. A security agent was supposed to follow shortly to recalibrate the new key box . No security agent showed up that day/evening. The next day I returned to the reception area and asked for the manager. Elijah addressed my pending amenity needs and was very apologetic that the key issue was still unresolved. As an accommodation to all of our problems , Elijah, on day #2 of our rear door problem, gave us an extra 4 hours to check out on our last day and it was very welcome to have the extra time. Another engineer was sent , however, he couldn't fix the key problem himself. The promised security agent didn't come either. I called Elijah on day #3 of our key issue and he was surprised the situation was still unsettled. It wasn't until the 3rd day now, that both an engineer and a security expert came together, again per my request, and they once again replaced the entire rear door key box and our keys finally worked on both doors, YEAH. It was a long drawn out process. Our stay was a real mixed bag and disappointing on too many issues. They did get resolved and we did receive a nice accommodation, however, these kind of things should not be happening at a resort like Vistana.…
Magical visit to Orlando and we enjoyed every moment of our stay at the Sheraton Vistana Resort!! It was such a great property! Resort activities, swimming pools, the market and on-site restaurants were so convenient with top notch service! We absolutely loved spending the week visiting all that Orlando had to offer along with great friends! We can't wait to return to this destination!
We stayed in a 2 bedroom, “renovated” condo. Very spacious, kitchen, living room, eating area, master bedroom with bath/shower/sink and a makeup area with second sink. Second bedroom with two full beds and it’s own bath. Nicely decorated with comfortable furniture/beds/pillows. You get a “starter kit” with 2 garbage bags kitchen soap, laundry/dishwasher detergent and coffee. We had to buy extra garbage bags and coffee/filters (basket style). It’s our understanding that staffing is an issue everywhere so they do not offer housekeeping services at this time. If you need something, you have to call. The grounds are very nice, several great pools. Only some restaurants are open. Nice place.
This week we stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas. We checked out at 7am to catch our flight back home. Within 3hrs of us checking out, I was contacted 3 times by the Shearton security staff informing me that they found my cars in the room safe. By that time we hadn’t even reached airport long term parking at DTW. Within 24hrs the security team had already validated our stay in that particular villa, and has already packaged my car keys for me to receive via 2 day mail. I’ve never left any articles behind in a hotel before, so it was a scary moment for me. Great security service by Shearton Vistana Resort Villas. A safe place to be.
We checked in on a Saturday night, there was no bedding for one of the beds. We called, it took 3.5 hours to get a pillows and a sheet. It is now 4 days later, we still do not have a comforter and have been promised several times we would get one. We are now checking out and making other accommodations. They are charging us in full for the days we have stayed here. In addition after being told we did not want to attend the time share presentation (which was not part of the deal), they have called on 2 mornings in the early a.m. waking me up and asking if I was going to attend. I did not plan my vacation to manage problems that do not seem important for them to resolve.
