The Point Hotel & Suites has received mixed feedback from guests. While the hotel's location and some updated rooms are commended, numerous travelers have reported rooms that lack maintenance and raise cleanliness concerns, with some guests encountering unexpected fees for services. Cleanliness, too, is inconsistent, as mentions of recent refurbishments clash with notes of extra charges for routine cleaning. Guests have called out the diminishing value, pointing to additional costs for basic amenities and outdated facilities. The service quality varies, ranging from friendly to unresponsive, adding to the uneven experience.

The Point Hotel & Suites is always home for me. I always enjoy a comfortable stay there. The rooms are well kept. Management and staff always respond quickly to issues which may arise.

Overall The Point is a fun place to stay while visiting Orlando. I totally recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from Feb 7-11. From the moment we arrived, I knew we picked the right place! It's not huge, like so many other chain hotels, where you are just one of many, and has more of a boutique feel. At check in the young lady asked us our view preference and we were absolutely THRILLED with the high floor pool view where we could see Disney Fireworks (albeit from a distance, but totally wasn't expecting this!). We had a 1 bed grand suite with breakfast included and for the price paid this is PHENOMONAL value. We are pretty picky, so I don't rate 5 stars lightly but this place deserves it for the combination of service, follow up and generally great accommodation. The bathrooms are massive with a nice big tub and separate shower, and the toilet itself has a privacy door. The living area has a small sofa, TV, desk etc and patio doors opening up to the balcony with 2 chairs. Obviously, the washer/dryer in the grand suites (and higher) are a huge bonus. We used this several times! Kitchen has everything you need. Bed was comfortable. Cleaning was done efficiently and we were not disturbed at all during our stay. The breakfast was typical and what we would expect at the price point paid. Eating area is extremely clean and staff on hand to help with anything you might need. Toast, bagels etc. Sausage, scrambled eggs, canadian ham, fried potatoes, fruit were on offer when we were there. They have a Starbucks for craft drinks (which you obviously pay extra for) which was great! Regular brewed Starbucks is free with breakfast. The pool bar is very nice, friendly staff, drinks specials on certain nights. If I could offer the hotel any tips, they would be minor suggestions and that would be to have real bacon at breakfast :) and to have an outlet by the desk (or an extension cable) for utilizing a laptop. My husband got around this by moving the desk. We would absolutely not hesitate to stay here again. It was obviously very close to Universal but also convenient for Disney and the drive wasn't overly congested etc. Perfect location, really. Highly recommended.

We recently stayed at The Point, and were very happy we did. The check in process was easy, and Mo offered us help to our room, with our bags (very kind guy). The room was spacious enough for all 4 of us, with enough room for us to make breakfast in the morning.

The hotel is located near major traffic arteries, which is convenient, and our room faced a green space, which was nice to wake up to.

The staff were very good, and always cheery. Anytime we needed something, it was promptly attended to (i.e. extra pillows).

There was some inconsistencies with the housekeeping, where we would have amenities replenished some days, and others not, and where the bed would be sometimes made proper, and sometimes left.

I do believe that, for a one week stay, a full housekeeping should be completed, or that a vacuum should be run through the room, at the very least. We’re a fairly neat / organized family, so not having this did not really detract from our enjoyment of the property.

We would not hesitate to stay here again, if staying off resort in Orlando - thank you for having us.

It’s so difficult to write this review as we loved this hotel BUT our room was not cleaned once in an entire week! I called every single Day, very nicely requesting that at least the following day our room be cleaned. In fact one day when we left at 10 AM we were so relieved that the housekeeping was in the room next-door to us and we noted that we would be out all day. Upon returning at 4:30 our room was still not touched. The ridiculous response from the front desk that they have until 5 PM is unbelievable. Every single day we were out of the hotel for at least four hours and not once was a room touched. This is a real pain to have to gather all of the ditty towels and trash to get them out of the room and wait for someone to bring replacements . Aside on that they were so much positive. The set up of the hotel feels very intimate and the staff are very friendly. I especially want to thank Christie a wonderful bartender who waited on us with a wonderful attitude and very timely, Including cooking our delicious meals at the outside bar. The breakfast buffet is nice. The hotel is located near all of the attractions and money store. It’s so hard to say if I go back because everything about it was really nice but a vacation is not a time for me to have to clean my room. Perhaps a response from one of the managers offering some type of compensation(even just a drink at the bar on the house), as everyone was very friendly and nice in listening but that did not change anything. Boy do I wish they cleaned our room because I would love to get this place five stars!

If you are looking for a base camp near Universal at an economical price, this might be your place. Pros & Cons are listed below:

Pro -
* GREAT location near Universal Studios at a decent price.
* Rooms are suites so you have everything you need to eat breakfast in or make a meal to take with you to keep the park-hopping costs down.
* Staff was nice and courteous.
* Whoever they use for their marketing did a phenomenal job. Pictures online are beautiful!

Con -
* The hallways were dirty and didn't look like they were vacuumed during our stay and the pool needed to be cleaned.
* The room itself could use an update. Worn carpet, tattered sheets, mold or mildew in the shower grout, warm (not hot) water for the shower, etc.
* The bar on a Wednesday night charged $12 for a watered down cocktail and we waited over 15 minutes to get served despite only one other couple being at the bar.

If you aren't going to spend any time at the hotel except to catch some sleep after a long day of park hopping, this location could be ideal. If you plan to spend any time at the place you are staying, check around and look into other hotels.

Customer Service / Check in
This was the main reason for a less than stellar review.
We called ahead to check in early if possible, because it was a Sunday and it was our anniversary. Front office Staff gave a standard answer, and not even an estimate of when check in would be possible. They simply advised that 4pm is the check-in time, and not in a polite manner either.

Arrival for us was not a good experience. We arrived at 4:20pm and there was only one person ahead of us. At 4:40pm, I was still standing there, with plenty of employees, walking past my wife and I and no one acknowledging us, or the fact it was taking 20 minutes to check in the person ahead of me. (Yes there was only 1 employee checking in guests) Meanwhile, there is a line up of other families now behind us, and none of us were acknowledged. my wife was able to go to the bar at the pool for a drink! I was still standing there when she got back.

Finally I raised my hand to an employee who saw there was a long line and he called me over. I told him I had been waiting almost 20 minutes just to check in and he said ok hold on, and went and fetched a manager ( Nicole ) at that point.

She came out and looked at the line up of people, and stated to everyone, "she will be right with you" meaning the 1 employee who was already drowning and with a line forming. I thought this was mediocre customer service.
At that point more people were behind me, but I was now walking up to check in, which went fairly quickly.

Property / Room:
I paid extra for a 1 bedroom King Suite and jetted tub (Jacuzzi) . Room 808 S. Large room with a nice little kitchen. The jetted tub is in the bathroom and is sized for 1 person. The light above it didn't work, which didn't help, so it was dim and we couldnt tell if it was fully cleaned, so we didn't end up using it unfortunately

The room was otherwise clean, and would be good for a family with kids.
Although it has a "boutique hotel" label, this is definitely an older property with renovations in some key areas.

For travellers who need a place with good size rooms and also are not sticklers for luxury finishes or furniture, this is a good place with competitive prices.

didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. Bartender who helped my wife was awesome apparently.

They also offered a health care worker discount, which we appreciated.

So if it was not for our customer service issue, this place would be rated a little higher. A manager reached out to us about our customer service issues after we posted our initial review, and discussed things, which we appreciated.

I spent 5 nights here in the prime of Spring break. It was just myself and my husband. I liked the fact that even though our one bedroom suite was not ready for an early check in they allowed us to hang out at the pool and pool bar until we could get into the room. The suite had a full kitchen and just enough cooking essentials to make light meals. The bed was extremely comfortable and bathroom was very nice. It was also helpful to have a washer and dryer in the suite. The pool was warm (heated) and plenty of chairs for guests. I thought they kept quite crazy pool hours 7 am til 11 pm but luckily my room was not facing that side. We had a nice view from the 12th floor of the Universal fireworks at night and the room was quiet and away from most families with smaller children. The pool bar was good. The one bartender Yasania was great, so fun and friendly. Makes the bar a nice place to hangout. I do have one major complaint about this hotel. I am aware that a full cleaning is not done during your stay, however, they are supposed to make the beds, empty trash and refresh the towels each day. This was NEVER done for us unless we chased housekeeping down in the hallway, called the front desk and/or walked down to the front desk. Even one day we left for the entire day. I stopped by the front desk that morning and asked to have it taken care of as we had not had it done without problems and we would be gone from 9 am until 5 pm. We got back and still no refresh. I was furious. Other than this complaint about housekeeping, my stay was enjoyable and the hotel is well located for all attractions.

This was our 4th stay here in the last 8 years. We had some issues 2 yrs ago when we last stayed but this time all was good. We stayed in a suite. The hotel is very soundproof, you don't hear people in the hallways, or other rooms. You can't hear pipes etc....The pool area is very clean and tidy. We notice they come around every morning, evening, and late evening making sure deck chairs are arranged etc. The breakfasts were very tasty, the staff is welcoming and friendly. Couple minor points where they can improve, there are no tables on the balconies which is not very convenient when you are having your coffee in the morning on the balcony. They could use a few more plates/cups in the kitchen and they could change the music around the pool more often. We were there for 10 days and every day they played classic rock in the afternoon. Fortunately we like classic rock but even with that how many times can you hear Tina Turner etc, they played the same songs over and over . Some times the song played 3 times in one hour. Overall this is a minor thing because overall the hotel is great. Perfectly located, walking distance to many restaurants and walking distance to Universal. They also have a shuttle to the theme parks. We found the the cost of rooms are really good value when you consider all this hotel has to offer.

Room: We stayed in a one bedroom suite. As advertised, it had a full kitchen, kurig, dining table for 4, dishwasher, washer/dryer, balcony, separate bedroom with its own tv. Beds (even the pullout) were very comfortable. Bathroom was large with a big tub and separate shower. Water pressure in the shower was low.

Location: plenty of free parking. Short drive or long walk to I-Drive attractions, lots of restaurants, Universal, Sea World, and Fun Spot.

Staff: front desk staff were all excellent. Corina and Amanda made sure we had everything we needed and more. They let me check in at 8am for an extra 25 bucks, and check out at 3pm for an extra 60 bucks.

Pool: the highlight of our stay. Big, clean, beautiful pool. Tons of chairs and comfy couches on the pool deck and no cabana-for-rent BS (i.e. no charge for the good seats!). Hot tub. Awesome pool bar and grill, a bit pricey but they always are.

Overall: great value for the price. Exceeded expectations and we would stay again.

We stayed 5 days at the hotel in the one bedroom suite. We had the best experience. I did my research on the hotel so I wouldnt be surprised. They charge a extra fee per day of like $15 with taxes and upfront they take a $250 deposit. So be ready for that. Read alot of reviews from as many sites I could find. Before we went I was skeptical reading the bad reviews. I preparred myself for whatever I might come across. When we checked in they asked us up front if we needed shuttle and let us know their maid service. The first day we had free with time change Im glad we did that. We didnt use any housekeeping that day but made the mistake of buying chinese for dinner. I called to ask where I could throw my trash so our room wouldnt smell that way all night. They told us to put it outside the door not to worry about it. You need ice no problem front desk will get it for you. The beds were made and she even made the extra pull out bed for us. Which we appreciated after a long day at the park. The area its in at the moment is full of constrution but the view you get is awesome. It has so much in that surrounding area. We cant wait to go back.

Hi. I can't answer 1 as we didn't book through booking. 2 - We had a car so didn't use the i-trolley. The hotel is close to International Dr and shops/ restaurants etc so I would guess there are plenty stops nearby. The hotel has a free shuttle to Universal too. 3 - The deposit was a hold on the credit card. I found the hotel to be fine. My only issue was the carpet/ couch. They were kind of grubby looking and needed replaced! It didn't spoil our holiday though .
