we love the park and the cabins we stayed in were very nice except for one critical thing that kept me from giving 4 stars. The beds were the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in. this was true of both the queen and the twin beds all four of us adults could not get a good nights rest

Enjoyed my time in the museum and in the classroom learning about Marion County, Florida's history and wildlife. The out buildings are interesting. The best part of the park is the beautiful, natural setting.Bring the kids, bring the grandparents! Great place to spend the day or just an afternoon. You'll leave more knowledgeable than when you arrived.

Last week 8 of us took a hike through Silver River State Park. It was the first time we were there since the state bought Silver Springs. We were surprised to see the wonderful campgrounds for RV's and tents as well as the ongoing construction of very nice cabins for folks to rent. Each cabin had a screened in porch...a... More

We had not been to Silver Springs since it became a state park so we took the time to visit. We went on Veterans' Day and in support.. the entry fee was waived which was very considerate. The grounds were well kept and the shops (ones that were open) had friendly and considerate folks working. Wheel chairs were available at... More

There is no better way to see the crystal-clear Silver River than in a kayak. You can easily see fish, alligators, birds, and more. Kayaks are available, but they go quickly, so it is better to bring your own if you have them. Facilities are not what they once were, but they do exist within the main park. A Florida... More

We didn't have very long so we just walked a few trails and spent time around the glass bottom boats. The only thing I found strange was the number of buildings and the retail stores. It seems like they take away from the beauty of the location. Can't wait to go back when we have more time to see more... More

First let me say that the check-in process for renting a cabin was a HUGE pain in the neck. Check-in was 3, we arrived at 1 hoping to hang out in the park, see where our cabin was, orient ourselves a little first. There are 2 gates, which we did not know about, so we waited in line for about... More

You dont mind staying in a tent or rv with no shade in the full sun, and no privacy this is your place. I have lived near Silver River my whole life and I would never ever camp there. There are minimal amenities mostly alot of hot hiking and the little museum. Really not alot to do. No swimming, no... More

We stayed a week in this campground in February in our fifth wheel. Finally a state park with campsites laid out by someone who must actually camp. So accessible that if you can not back into these campsites, you likely can't back at all. Angle to road off driver's side is perfect and sites are huge. You could actually put... More

In Feb. Silver River State Park was one of the many FL state parks that we have camped in since Nov. 2014. There are 59 spacious well maintained camping sites with water & electricity. 10 large cabins are also available to rent. Near the camping sites are several well groomed trails to hike. We hiked the River Trail several times... More
