Most run down plaice I have ever come across Stay 10/3 to 10/10 I am writing this today is 10/6 we left within 1 hour of arriving at the resort and moved to a hotel I have to pay nightly. This resorts condition ruined our trip and cost us additional expenses not planed for . I am a Diamond or Platinum member of several hotel groups and have stayed in a range of resorts god bad and now I have run into the absolutely worst. All pictures are very deceiving not even close to representing the resorts condition. The Beach is close but not worth staying here to be near the beach. Front desk seemed friendly but again it does not represent the horrible condition the owners allow to exist. My name is Waine and I confirm this is an accurate representation of what was experienced. The place was so disgusting we could not even sit while deciding what to do. RCI should take this off the exchange list. . I gave average rating just for the staff and the location the rest was rated terrible.…
These rooms were outdated and the floors in the halls were covered with sand-but that’s the worst part!! Stepping out the doors to a gorgeous private white sand beach was worth every penny! The pool area is awesome and overlooks the ocean! The public patio out back has plenty of grills and seating for everyone and it’s right by all the cabanas! The free use of kayaks and a catamaran is cool too:) Our family and some friends all stayed and had a great time( even thru Covid there was plenty of safe social distancing space) This is within a few minutes to Johns Pass boardwalk and the more popular, less secluded Clearwater Beach:) and Pier 61:)
Online the pictures make this hotel out to seem pretty nice but once you get there its terrible. The lobby is decent when you first walk in but once you get to the hallways, there are gaps in the borders of the ceilings, wires and cords were hanging out of the ceiling and showing through the gaps, there was a vacuum in the hallway and our keys didnt work so we had to have someone open the door for us. Thats just the outside and mind you, we got the king suite. The hotel is definitely smaller than what the pictures show, it overall looks old and wasnt decorated wel. There was one small, old TV in the living room, the bed was not a king size like advertised, and one of the lamps in the bedroom didnt even work. Overall the hotel looks more like a motel on the inside and is VERY overpriced. We payed $350 for 2 nights in that, and ended up getting a new hotel because it was so bad, we will not be returning and hope no one has to experience that again.…
Resort is very outdated and in poor repair. Staff is courteous, friendly and helpful. If your main interest is the beach, this place might work as it is right on the beach. Shopping is near by and some restaurants are within walking distance.
Location is hard to beat, pool is kept clean and amenities like access to kayaks, cabanas and even catamarans are NO CHARGE to guests. Everyone brings up parking, yes there is limited parking onsite. Grand Shores West pays for second lot across the street that you can park in with pass hung in window of your car. You are able to load and unload easily in front of Grand Shores,, so I don't know what the big deal is about parking across the street. units are definitely a bit run down, but sheets and towels are clean and for the price it is perfect for families on a budget with kids, literally walk out your room and onto the sand.
