This is quite the desirable place for a Gulf beach vacation. My wife and I spent a relaxing week in a very peaceful setting at The Beachcomber. The Apartment: We were highly impressed with our rental, Apartment 5 which--with its picture-glass front--offered a gorgeous view of the white sandy beach and crystal blue Gulf water. We found the rooms and patio (where you can enjoy viewing incredible sunsets while relaxing in a cozy rope hammock or lounge chairs) to be, overall, smartly equipped, as well as tastefully and comfortably furnished and arranged. The bed was quite comfy, as was the furniture in the living room. There were plenty of cable TV channels and a VCR. The bathroom (due for some upgrades), while clean, roomy and adequate, was not as nice as the rest of the apartment, but the overall quality of the apartment and patio more than made up for it. The kitchen, while small and minus an automatic dishwasher, was well equipped and met our needs satisfactorily. Bottom line: Apartment 5 was comfortable and had charm and the best view ever. We’d love to stay there again. Management: Tekla and Robert are the best hosts ever--very considerate and accommodating of our every need or wish. The Beachcomber is hands-down the best-managed lodge we've found. Robert is a kind-hearted gentleman and fun-loving story teller who's on top of everything with energy to spare--always making sure we had just what we needed. Think of him like a cheerful Genie in a Bottle popping up fast when needed. Tekla--very friendly and charming, welcomed us like family. She's always available to answer questions and to provide guidance and directions to help locate things of interest and navigate the island. The Setting: This is a great place to relax and enjoy a high-quality beach setting. We found the water temp in mid-May to be perfect for refreshing dips. The owners provide everything needed for enjoying the beach (lounge chairs, umbrellas, etc.). The nearby Intracoastal Waterway, is equally beautiful, with pristine blue water--a great place for boating and even swimming. Publix grocery is a short drive away, along with other shops (including a bait shop for fishermen). Note to anglers: The area is a fishing Mecca. But I didn't explore all of the possibilities because surf fishing kept me occupied while my wife enjoyed reading on the beach. The Pompano were taking sand-flea scented fish bites, and the Snook (catch and release at the time) were hitting white grub tails thrown into bait pods--best at sunrise! A fish-cleaning table by the boat slips is provided for guests who catch their dinner. Final Thoughts: Just wish the week had not gone by so fast. Looking forward to a return visit, if we can find the right vacancy in this popular gem of an Inn where long-time guests own first picks. May bring the boat next time we come.

Been coming the TheBeachcomber, Casey Key since 2011. The Beachcomber never disappoints. The rooms are clean and cleaner than the time before. Usually spend a week a year and then two or so three day weekends at the Beachcomber. Tekla and Robert could not possibly be better hosts out of any place I've stayed all around the world. They will bend over backwards to make sure your visit is top notch...whether it's socializing or just making sure you get the "Chill" time you need while staying there. They are extremely respectful of both you and any neighbors you have staying at their unique resort. I have never left the Beachcomber (Approximately 15 stays there) and not returned home without making new friends from nearby units or on the beautiful, uncrowded Nokomis Beach. Can't wait to return in a few months. Cheers!More

My wife and I recently had to make a change to our vacation schedule due to the lock down of travelers in the Florida Keys. We did some extensive research to fit our needs as we like to bring a boat and enjoy being on the water. Our "must haves" are clean, boat ramp, and dockage. All three checked and made the call to the office and booked it. Upon arrival we met the owners who live on site and you can instantly tell they take great pride in their slice of heaven and love sharing it with their guests. The property was immaculate and well maintained. We stayed in the South Villa and it was way more impressive than what we were expecting. The sunsets on the beach were a bonus for us as we spent each evening relaxing with a cold beverage and visiting with some new friends. This location was less than three hours from our home in central Florida and we can see ourselves visiting often. As my wife and I drove home a lot of the conversation was when are we going back. We are looking forward to visiting again soon.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend stay to celebrate our anniversary at the beachcomber. The owners are very personable, accommodating, and helpful. The apartments are clean and well-cared-for and you can tell the owners take great care of their property and of their guests. When we requested a later check out, the owners went out of their way to accommodate us. Beach umbrellas, chairs, and a barbecue are provided for guests. It is right on the beach so a beautiful setting for a getaway. I highly recommend this gem of a place!!

Have been visiting The Beachcomber for nearly 10 years. The spot and the people have all become very dear to my heart. The owners have become friends, their care and attention to all important details are impeccable. Always spotlessly clean, thoughtfully attended to inside and out.

Dear tdwightevans, As most everyone is aware, the hospitality industry has been devastated as a result of Covid-19. So, as we try to adapt to our new normal and await the return of our guests, we are so very grateful for support & positive messages from Beachcomber regulars like yourself. Rest assured that our normally strict cleaning procedures have gotten even stricter and that we are using this quiet time to prepare the resort for a happy future.
