We just stayed on a little slice of heaven on Casey Key in Venice. We read all the reviews about Robert and Tekla and there is a reason why the reviews are all 5 star. IT’S A 5 STAR EXPERIENCE!!! From the moment you check in to when you leave Tekla and Robert are there to make your stay a great experience. They will provide you with information on the town and restaurants, and activities to do. Also they make sure when you check in that you have everything you need. The room we stayed in was the smallest room on property however it was whimsical. It was very clean, and we were very comfortable. Each room is decorated differently and has its own character I would like to try a different room in all my future visits. Also want to mention that the Beachcomber is right on the beach. Walk out your door and you are on the beach. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. You can’t beat this place. They also have everything you need for the beach, chairs, umbrellas, towels, rafts, noodles. Also grills, clothes watchers are available on the property. They thought of everything. We already booked another 3 night stay in a few months. I highly recommend you call in advance because they are booked out months and years in advance. There is so much to do in the area. We biked the Legacy Trail which was awesome. Then we enjoyed the beach which was beautiful, we explored the historic downtown area ( great shops). To our surprise there are so many wonderful restaurants in the area too. If you are a foodie you won’t be disappointed. This place IS a little slice of HEAVEN.

Our stay at the Beachcomber was incredible. The unit was well appointed, super clean with a comfortable bed (best I’ve had away). Tekla and Robert are great hosts- checking in to make sure all is right. The beach is right there, uncrowded and long enough to walk for exercise and looking for shells and shark teeth. Lots of restaurants close by- Venice 10 min and Sarasota 25 min if you want to venture further. We’ll be back- booked again before we even left! Thank you.

This was our third stay at the Beachcomber, and it was as wonderful as the first two stays. We're looking forward to returning next year! We really love staying here for several reasons: the staff are all super friendly, the apartment is sparkling clean, tastefully decorated, and so well stocked. It is quiet, yet near so many conveniences: Venice, (and Sarasota's not far), restaurants, a grocery store, and many great beaches, including, of course, the one right here! This area of FL, "Old Florida" on the Gulf side, is so much more peaceful than many other areas. There are lots of places to take a day trip to from here, but you may find it so relaxing that you decide to stay put and just relax! Dale & Lisa

My wife and I stayed here for a week for our tenth anniversary. It was nice to stay in this quiet place right on the Gulf of Mexico. The apartment we stayed in was clean and uniquely decorated. The owners were very accommodating and added their personal touch. There was plenty of room on the beach and it was close to yummy restaurants. We even saw dolphins right from the front deck. I recommend this for anyone who wants a peaceful getaway.

This review is absurdly overdue, but we didn’t want to miss praising this astonishing location. We stayed at the Beachcomber in Nokomis in 2020—in late Sept/early October. Due to the raging pandemic, we had gone absolutely nowhere. Having stayed at The Beachcomer twice before Covid hit, it was literally the ONLY place we felt we could visit and stay safe—so we went for that third visit. Tekla and Robert respected safety, physical distancing, and disinfection. They make everything so clean and easy, we relaxed immediately. It was a huge relief to be able to go anywhere—much less somewhere so exceptionally beautiful and sparkling clean, with such caring, gracious hosts. We’ll be there in 2021 for a 4th stay, and we simply can’t wait. Our sincere thanks.
