The vibe is friendly and relaxed, the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, but the best part? The delicious breakfasts served on our balcony, where we watched dolphins in the river across the street. Wonderful small hotel on a convenient neighborhood location near the South Causeway, with some excellent dining options nearby. Just a short stroll to Riverpark Terrace with delicious food and charming outdoor dining. My place to stay in NSB from now on.

Spent the night at Black Dolphin Inn Arrived by boat and docked in front of this beautiful bed and breakfast, Was greeted by Patricia who helped us bring in our bags and service dog from the dock. She showed us to our room, it was wonderful and very big with 2 king size beds , big living area And bathroom with whirlpool tub and shower, it had coffee & tea bar , very comfortable room ; the next morning breakfast was delivered to our room We had a choice of healthy breakfast bowl with berries or French toast with glazed apple & ham. The service was excellent , will return for sure.

I knew we were going to love this hotel when I first saw it on line. When we arrived we were greeted by Taylor. He showed us around, then took our bags and took us to our room. The room was huge and charming and decorated very nicely. And it included a large balcony. Taylor told us our stay included breakfast which would be delivered to our room each morning. The hotel is located across the street from the Indian River. We had a nice view of the river from our balcony. This was one of the best hotel experiences we ever had. Definitely not the typical sterile hotel. If you want something different with a down home feeling this is your place to stay when in New Smyrna Beach.

We stayed here a few weeks ago as we were in town for a fishing charter. The charter fishing service we booked with, Captain Drew Cavanaugh, suggested we stay here this time because it was in the perfect location for our fishing trips we had scheduled with him and the things to do around the city of New Smyrna Beach after each day on the water. Last time we stayed in Orlando and wont be doing that again. He was spot on! The boat ramps we met him at were within 5 minutes of us. Every night we had so many options of dining, scenery and entertainment. The establishment itself was just perfect, very comfortable. Was very nice to sit outside watching the wildlife, sunrises and sunsets. And to top it off the weather down here was something out of a movie. Just beautiful outside the whole time we were here. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in the area.…

What a wonderful stay we had! Our room was beautiful and clean. The property was charming and welcoming. The location was perfect and the hospitality was top notch! Brett, Jennifer and Josh are outstanding. We love the cooked flavorful breakfast and all the little things that go with it. We stay at allot of bed and breakfasts throughout the east coast and this is one of the best. Thank you for a memorable stay and we can't wait to come back!

Our third stay at the Black Dolphin was just as great as the two previous experiences. Over the years this B&B has always maintained a high standard in cleanliness, food quality and customer service. With all the accommodations that had to be made, due to covid, their obvious concern for their guests never waned. It's great to be back to enjoying breakfast in the lobby\dining area while watching chef prepare our order and converse with other guests. Our room was spotless and the staff were very friendly. We'll definitely be back!

The Black Dolphin Inn did not reflect my expectations based on what I saw advertised on the website. The room was nice and bed was comfortable, but I was disappointed on several points that originally sold me to stay here: 1. Breakfast: The description and pictures of breakfast prepared at the inn on it's website and social media accounts are not a representation of what you get. I have attached a picture of the "the Black Dolphin Inn's acclaimed Full Southern Breakfast features a locally-sourced diverse menu" served on Saturday morning. Please compare to what is posted online and decide for yourself. It was overly cheesy eggs and non-seasoned potatoes with low-quality grocery store muffin and croissant, and sausage that tasted pre-frozen and microwaved. Only coffee available is from a Keurig. Also not a fan of the to-go box containers. I definitely expected more from breakfast based on other highly rated B&Bs we have stayed at and the advertising of what the Inn offered. We did mention this to the owner and decided to skip breakfast for the remainder of the stay, which he credited us for. 2. The website states "Public Bicycles - Our fleet of Dutch-style bicycles are lightweight, fun, and stylish. perfect for a casual sightseeing tour around town, or a peaceful outing along the river. We'll provide a lock for your convenience, allowing you to enjoy some of the plentiful restaurants or shops in new Smyrna Beach at your leisure." No bicycle were available and we had to rent our own and pay extra. Having included bikes was a reason we liked this property. 3. "Beach Towels, Chairs & Umbrellas - We'll help ensure that your day at the beach is perfectly comfortable. Enjoy the use of our complimentary leisure equipment and have some fun in the sun!" We did get beach chairs and towels but they were old, small beach chairs with one being broken. I did mention this to man at the check-in desk upon returning it. Again, not what I would expect from a 4-star property. Maybe this place once was nicer and had more amenities, but as of now, it is not what I would consider a 4-star property. If you are looking for a nice room and place to sleep it works, but needs to re-brand the selling points online before others book and are also disappointed.…

I surprised my wife with a trip to the Black Dolphin Inn for her birthday. She was so happy to return to the BDI. We had a wonbderful time and enjoyed the scenery, the Inn, the wonderfulweather, and the hospitality we received there. Eeveryone was so nice.

Celebrating a milestone birthday in New Smyrna we chose the Black Dolphin Inn. Having had enjoyable stays here in the past we were excited to visit again. The Inn is spectacular in every way! Aesthetically unique architecture, nicely appointed suites and attention to detail all above expectations! Fabulous balcony views of the intracoastal waterway and sunrise accented by frolicking dolphins sets the stage each day. A well balanced tasty breakfast is offered in-room or at the breakfast bar and served precisely at our requested time. The solitude, ambience and centralized location to the beaches and downtown is superb! The staff and owners cater to your every need leaving you with a sense of spoiled satisfaction! Beyond the inviting fire pit and relaxing garden courtyard we were notified of a scheduled launch from near by Kennedy Space Center and witnessed this amazing event first-hand in our furnished robes with morning coffee from the comfort of our suite!
