Awesome place the facilities were very clean. Pool and hot tub open 24 hours. Everyone was friendly. You can rent kayaks they have a river inlet from the campground. The only bad thing is the noseeums they are like gnats that leave like mosquito bites make sure you have insect repellent.
This review is for tent camping. Currently, there seem to be three wooden platforms for pitching tents. They may allow groups to camp in the gravel area next to the tent platforms, but I’m not sure. The three platforms are right next to each other and afford very limited privacy. Also, there is a floodlight directly overhead which is on all night. As others have said, the site is near the dumpsters and the trash truck came through bright and early. Bathrooms are a bit of a distance but acceptable. Also a plus, there are electrical outlets on the platforms. The rest of the campground seems to be occupied by permanent residents in a mixture of RVs and trailers. It seemed like a neighborhood. The tent area is in a separate section along with cabins.
We really enjoyed our unexpected week long stay after a large bird strike shattered the windshield of our motorhome. We can't say enough about the entire staff who were all very kind, compassionate and understanding to our unexpected predicament. The campground is very well maintained. The pool, bathrooms, laundry and other facilities are updated and clean. The pull thru campsites are flat and spacious, many with paver patios and built-in fire pits. The wifi is excellent and many upgrades are being made to recreational facilities (pavillion, horse shoes, corn hole, outdoor theater, etc). The dog park is large and clean.
Went with our travel trailer for a family weekend. The campground is very well maintained. The bathroom are super cleaned well as the showers. We enjoy the pool and the whole stay. Activities around the places are super fun
Well maintained. Staff was available to answer questions and assist on camp site. Recommend to all. Families and couples. Quiet location . Clean. Great pool. Organized. Good location to Marco island and Naples.
Poor! The folks running the place are awesome! The place itself is run down and the spots are so tight together. It costs to much for what you get. We only stayed because nothing else was available. Never again!
Just spent the weekend camping at the Naples/Marco Island KOA! Had a raised tent site, was so great! Very spacious, storage available, electric and water! Bonus, had a great/easy boat ramp, brought our jet ski and the water was amazing! Saw dolphins, manatees and more! The staff was very friendly and accommodating! Definitely will be going back! 😎🏕
Our family of four was tent camping, but our site was right under a floodlight. The temporary bathroom/shower was stinky, but clean and functional. The more permanent bathrooms associated with the part of the campground next to the river were way better. Kids loved the pool which was just the right temperature. Convenient location for people who want to fish, kayak, or otherwise boat in the Rookery Bay area, which is an easy two-mile paddle from the campground boat ramp. Attempted to rent a kayak from the campground, but the rules and schedule associated with doing so were too onerous. Couldn't keep it over night, could not get started early enough, and would of had to turn it in too early in the afternoon. Lots of other more amenable places to rent kayaks from in the area that will deliver. The Rookery Bay Educational Center is very close to the campground and you can book great kayak tours through them. The ed center has a touch tank and hiking trails. This KOA is very conveniently located for southwest FL attractions. Don't miss Corkscrew Swamp! This is an expensive campground, but the campground itself does not live up to the price tag, but maybe the location does. This is not the sort of campground that is appealing to spend daylight hours hanging out in unless you want to socialize with the other campers or hang out at the pool. Bring bug spray with DEET and put it on preemptively in the late afternoon to prepare for the attack at sunset. Very little shade available. Campsites are very close together. RV dominated. Seemed to have a thriving retiree community that liked to get together in the rec hall. There is some grass to pitch a tent, but we were told to use the gravel or cement pads associated with the tent sites since the grass has a tendency to flood when it rains from the nearby shallow ditch. Bathrooms are far enough away to be inconvenient when camping with kids at night, and this is NOT a "get up and do your business behind a tree" type campground.…
We spent 2 nights in a basic camping cabin and were very pleased. The person checking us in was very friendly and informative. We were taken to our cabin which was nice and clean. It was a very short walk to the bathroom/shower building. We had to end our Naples area vacation early, but the person checking us out was also friendly and helpful. We definitely plan to stay here again on a future trip.
