We checked in on Jan 1, the beginning of the busy season. Our 40' RV was directed to an organized group of volunteer residents who were happy to check us in and help us back into our site. They encouraged us to set up first then visit the office to settle our bill the next day. The staff was just as helpful and accommodating. The sites are huge, the people are friendly, and it is close to shops and restaurants. We will definitely look at booking for next year!

My stay has been from August to December with a couple of hiccups in between but everything was dealt with fast and efficient with these two amazing employees! They have made my stay stress free as we wait for our home to be ready they have made us feel at home at Sun RV resorts. Only the best! I will recommend this resorts to my family and friends!

This is our second visit to lake San Marino RV Park. I was surprised to read a few unfair reviews. We choose a premium site so that we would have the concrete site. Otherwise you're going to just a get a grass site with a small concrete patio. I actually think the lots are very fair for width. Ours has some decent landscaping. These are deep lots. Plenty of room to park our 32 foot 5th wheel and then our truck with plenty of room to spare. Amenities are very acceptable. 2 pickleball courts. People seem quite friendly. Roads are NARROW. We got into our site without issue. I think people would move to accommodate if necessary. Shopping and Beach very closeby. A couple things i might mention that people might not like.... There is a concrete plant behind the park. You can definitely hear trucks going on and out all day. It's not obnoxious but it's noticable. The plant seems to run 24 hours a day. Our site this year seems much quieter than last year. Second is the traffic on 41. Intersection of Wiggins Pass and 41 is a busy one. That aside.... SW Florida is paradise for us northerners in the Winter. I recommend Lake San Marino.

If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay Lake San Marino is not the place. The place is over-run with rude French Canadians who are of the opinion that they are "special". Rules and regulations are not being enforced. Sun canopies are allowed but the French Canadians have "tents". The tents are being used as additional living and cooking space. If you speak French and do not mind "loud" people then this is the place for you. If you want to have a relaxing enjoyable experience go elsewhere. This was once a nice RV park, now it is a CAMPGROUND!!! If you notice any "good" reviews be aware of where the writer comes from, best bet would be QUEBEC !!!!!

We only camped two nights in April. Lake San Marino RV Resort is on Wiggins Pass Road in north Naples below Bonita Springs, close to restaurants, shopping and Walmart. For RVers without satellite, it means lots of free TV channels over the antenna. Although we went there at the tail end of high season, there was a ton of traffic. Campgrounds in Naples can be expensive, but we chose this one because we could get a 50% Passport America discount off the regular $50/night price. They also add a $2.50/night resort fee for the electricity. Tents are not allowed. The sites are grass with a small concrete pad for the picnic table.

When making the reservation, we were asked the usual questions about our RV (length, type, etc.), but one question was "How deep is your slideout?" Hmm. Does that mean we'll be squeezed between two mobile homes? And sure enough, when we get to our site, it is indeed between two mobile homes.... and to make it worse, the residents on both sides are home. Because one of the homes had planted a "fence" of plants as a boundary to their property and the space was very narrow, parking our big truck and 28 ft trailer seemed impossible without running over the plants. Some resorts offer parking assistance for first-timers, but this one did not. We called the office but there was no answer, so we left a voicemail saying we took the empty site two spaces away. There were plenty of open RV spaces, so we didn't understand why they would inconvenience their residents by putting us in-between two mobile homes. I mean, where are the residents supposed to park their vehicles if we're there?

And then, the next day, they assigned a Class A motorhome right next to us, even though there were two other empty sites they could have put them in. The motorhome was a mere 2 feet away from our awning! If the park is filled, I can understand assigning sites like this, but as I mentioned, it was not.

Lake San Marino is a manmade lake with a fountain and small fishing dock. When we set our chairs up on the dock to fish, two mute swans made a beeline for us. This gave us great close-up photo opportunities. But--in accordance with Florida law--we don't feed wild animals, so the swans eventually lost interest and left. Since it's a catch and release lake, we were hopeful there would be big fish, but it was really strange. We saw almost no minnows, and the lake seemed to have 99% small bluegills (2" ones) that acted like they came from a fish farm. Why? I was feeding them bread, and they were ravenous, just like at a fish farm. You could hear them hitting each other in order to get to the bread first--they acted like they were starving! The lake is lined with rocks and has no plants in it. Nor does it seem to have any other type of fish other than bluegills, so perhaps it's lacking in balance. I would suggest some native water lilies (they have yellow flowers and will not overgrow like the invasive hyacinth) which would provide shade and cover for the fish and make the lake look prettier and less barren. Also, adding bass would add sport to the fishing, and adding tilapia and/or carp would keep the water clean.

The lake is surrounded by mobile homes (they're pretty close to each other too!) and the dock is right next to the pool, so we could feels eyes watching us closely. Whenever we stay at a park (private or otherwise), we always respect the rules. One resident told Tim that they "lost a swan" to a fisherman's hook, so I suppose we were viewed as a threat to the swans just because we were fishing. Hey, we're not the ones who clipped their wings and made them prisoners of the lake. ;) Maybe the swan died of old age; how do we know?

The park is quiet, surprisingly so because it's right next to the main road. The fence must somehow block the noise well. When we left, we were behind a fifth wheel that came very, very close to the stop sign on the corner of the road. As with many parks, the roads were built in the days when RVs were smaller. My suggestion would be to reposition the stop signs, if possible.

Lake San Marino is as Janet D writes overrun with Quebec Canadians. The management has taken the stance that because they make a large part of the financial impact on the park they just ignore all the bad behavior and take in the $$$ All very well, but rules are rules and they are NOT enforced. Washing hanging, cutting through between sites in groups to visit with other Quebec friends. Drinking and talking 'LOUD" well after the 10 p.m. quiet time. Walking 4 and 5 across in the streets and NOT moving when traffic approaches. (except of course if it is a fellow Quebecer then they STAND in the middle of the street to have a LOUD conversation). Managements approach to complaints is "we will put a note in their mail box and remind them of the rules". The manager is a very "pleasant/friendly individual" but she is "invisible" in the park. She does not deal with any problems she "hides" in her office. She lives on site but is well away from the group of rowdy Quebecers so (lucky for her) she doesn't see, or hear any of the problems and loud behavior.
All this being said LSM is well kept, clean and tidy, well situated near shopping and downtown Naples. Just be prepared to be frustrated and annoyed by the Quebec gang that have "taken over this RV resort"!!

Stayed here in one of the "cottages" last winter for a month. Great location!!! That's about it for positive feedback. We were told when we booked that we would have wifi. That didn't happen. Had to spend a good part of a day getting a wifi box for our unit on our own through a local provider. Another day wasted returning it at the end of the month. Line ups and wait times were ridiculous . We found the office staff very unhelpful with anything. Lousy attitude. The pool was closed for repairs while we were there. All the way to florida and the pool is down. Told it was the heat pump and that it happens every year. Just a thought, fix it before it gives out,if it happens every year. We did ask to go to the other resort they own in naples and use there pool. Much nicer rv park and lots of mature trees , not a field like we were. I am from Canada but if I had to listening to the loud f@&$&@@&ing French people one more day I would of lost it . So ignorant at the pool. They certainly run the place. This place should be called little Quebec . Would not return , other places to stay without Internet hassles and the French. The units are on top of each other. Very crowded

Stay here for month of January 2016/ although it was a very nicely located park..it has issues. It was a very stormy stay w/ tornadoes and severe weather several times during our stay...not typical for Florida in January...we were amazed to find they had no emergency plans in case of extreme weather . Their public buildings are not Tornado/Hurricane emergency places for cover. We were told Sun RV told the front office workers they were not to recommend even using the washroom/shower bldg's as they are afraid to be sued in case of potential dangers!
Even more frustrating was the lack of staff to do repairs to roads & grass areas used for parking at your site! It was not until after the people leaving a site and pulling out through the muck and ruts that they tried to repair &cover up the areas so the new people could move in.....not impressed and several people had tried to get their sites repaired but got no response. They did not even do anything on the weekends as it looked like it was done by a casual staff of workers not a regular full time staff.
The front office ladies were nice and sympathetic but could get nothing done... I think it is more of a Management issue...

The one bedroom vacation cottages are very nice, clean, newer, and have everything you'll need. The unit was small and very close to others, but comfortable. They have a porch and small driveway, washer/dryer/tvs, etc. Off-season prices were great, especially for this area. In-season prices double and are booked way in advance. The property was nice and kept up well. Too bad there was always loud thumping music, construction noise, landscaping noise and work truck noise day and night. A huge concrete block factory borders the whole east side of property with loud manufacturing noise day and night. Semi trucks loaded with concrete blocks fly down the street next to property from 6am until 6pm daily. There's also an older trailer park directly across the street with some pretty shady characters there. It's North Naples, 14 miles from Naples pier. Closest beaches are 5 miles way. WiFi worked good during most of my stay, but did go out quite a bit. There is a MAJOR issue with the NIGHTCLUB NOISE on the west side of the property. There's a loud NIGHTCLUB right behind many of the vacation cottages and owner's trailers on west side. LOUD, THUMPING MUSIC most nights of the week from 10pm until 1am...or later. It will literally SHAKE you out of bed! Good luck sleeping during these hours! There are a lot of nice things about Lake San Marino - too bad that noise can be such an issue there.

I would suggest calling the office manager directly at the park office. I've been dealing with the corporate office in Michigan, trying to get answers to my questions, without much luck. They seem to keep you in the dark when reserving a cottage. I still can't find out if there are non-smoking units, or if there is actual working wi-fi. It's all a big mystery. Good luck.
