We had a lovely stay in their cottage. It was a two bedroom and one bath cottage with a living room and kitchen and dining area. It was one block away from downtown so it was easy to walk everywhere. It also had a patio with a couple of rocking chairs. Everything was there that we needed. We would definitely go there again.

Quaint lovely little house with upper level separate apartment , walking distance to downtown on a quiet street. Small kitchen with all the equipment and a common laundry area. Hosts are very responsive, had iffy air conditioning- fixed immediately . Nice garden area with BBQ, also enclosed porch. Off street parking , there is a walking /biking trail right on the street.

We stayed in the Nantucket cottage on the first floor for one night on our way from Miami to the Panhandle. Mount Dora is a cute, historic town on a lake and these cottages are perfectly situated for walking everywhere (tho they are at the top of a hill and our bike ride down to the lake was easier than our ride back up!). They are especially well-suited to those staying a few days as they have kitchens for breakfast etc. Nantucket is compact but has a little sitting room for some extra space. Very clean and nicely decorated in a New England sailing theme, big TV, and outdoor grill and what I think is a fire pit for all 5 or so cottage apartments to use. We could hear some noise from our neighbors but nothing major. All that said, I might be inclined if I were only staying one night in Mount Dora to consider a regular room at the Lakeside Inn, which is right on the lake for excellent sunset viewing from its porch rocking chairs. It is also right in town.

The place is pretty clean and well maintained. It looks like the room was updated recently. Plenty of clean towels, kitchen is fully stocked, better than a hotel. The only pet peeve would be the sheets, they are polyester and they kept rolling down at night. They also produce static electricity and you get shiny sparks in the middle of the night. The location is great, walking distance from Donnelly park. Management was very accommodating. The place is advertised as pet friendly (some units) but it is not. If you have an overzealous dog that barks at the drop of a pin, this is not the place for you, we could hear other dogs barking in the pet friendly units as well. This is an old building so walls and floors are not soundproof. We could hear the other tenants yawning (if you have kids, not a place for you either. They will hear more than just yawning, if you know what I mean). So, if your dog barks at other tenant's voices and they leave early asking for a refund, you will be asked to pay for those missing days. So, not a pet friendly at all. Overall a good place to stay if you are an adult and don't mind noises, but don't bring your dog (or kids).

The cottage is close to town, very clean and the perfect getaway. It has a full kitchen if you prefer to cook instead of going to a restaurant. Everything you need to prepare food is there so all you need is what you want to cook. There is a cute screened porch in front where you can sit and read a book.

We stayed in the “Hyde-a-way” unit for two nights. We were able to check in early and start our weekend early. The place was very clean and was more than what we expected. Cute little neighborhood was walking distance to historic downtown. Biggest surprise was the church bells that woke me up on Sunday morning. We will definitely stay again.

The cottage was perfect. It was so clean, very comfortable and close to all in action in Mt. Dora. Perfect Christmas weekend! Took my granddaughter, who is 3 to the Christmas festivities and Christmas parade. She had so much fun. We will be back!!!

We spent thanksgiving weekend in the garden cottage and had a very enjoyable experience. These cottages were built in 1938, so bearing that in mind the cottage was comfortable. The floors are pinewood, so they do creak a little when walking and you will hear the guest upstairs moving around. The furnishings are older but are in keeping with the ambiance of the cottage. The décor of the cottage is cozy. Everything was clean, shower, kitchen, floors and even the front porch. The bed was comfortable. Check in was easy, just punched the code into the lock box, got the key out & went in. We traveled with our small dog, and there were plenty of places to walk him. This place had everything we needed and would definitely consider staying again if we returned to the area. The location is perfect for walking downtown.

The most disappointing lodging experience I've had in Mt. Dora in the 12 years I've been visiting. The stairs to the room were rickey. The door was difficult to open and we were greeted at the top of the stairs by a large wasp next. The yard desperately needs landscaping. The room felt tired, the bed was not comfortable, and the smoke alarm went off when we started the heat. The bathroom was a weird conversion area with other items in there covered by a curtain. Little things here and there within the bathroom were broken. We checked out a day early and by no means expected our money back, but it was interesting that no sort of consolation was offered. And when we arrived we were asked to take a package that had been delivered to our room down to the room of another guest. Um, sure. I paid a good chunk of money for a really run down "cottage"...I'll be happy to take wrongly delivered mail to another guest. -- weird. Wouldn't stay here again. It needs a good remodel or cleaning at best.

We stayed in the Hideaway so we could visit Mt. Dora for the Christmas lights. It was the perfect location, very near the park and shops. The Hideaway is up a very steep set of inside stairs, accessed from the back porch. It has sloped ceilings and low doorways, which can be a little hard for someone like my guy who is 6'4", but he managed. the main area has a sitting room with TV, small 2-seat table, a mini fridge (strangely perched on top of a rack) small stove, microwave, and a large sink. In the back corner is a strange little desk with a chair that is up a step... I guess would be nice if you wanted to work on a computer. The bath is tiny with the toilet paper holder set at ankle height (what were they thinking?) and a small shower. The bedroom is tight, with a bed that can be a king or split into two twins, and a full dresser. The furnishings are eclectic... sort of a thrift store assortment... not bad but don't expect chic or luxury. Think comfy/quirky. I liked having a small living room to relax rather than just a hotel room, so I was happy with the choice. Check in was easy by calling and getting the code for the key box... but we had a bit of a time figuring out how to open it. The reservation system is set up for a minimum of two nights, but since it was booked for the weekend and we wanted to go on Thursday night, it allowed a one-day reservation... good to know. I would stay again, maybe trying a different apartment. Parking is good, right in front of the building. Cute garden area in back but it was too chilly for us to use it. Street was quiet but we did hear the downstairs tenants clearly when they returned at night, so noisy neighbors could be an issue.
