I booked a stay here for a quick overnight layover. I had multiple large bags and one oversized piece of luggage, so I was grateful for the advertised free airport shuttle. While awaiting a connecting flight, I called this hotel to ask how to schedule a shuttle pickup as I would be landing at 10:30pm that night, and the employee informed me that due to COVID, there is no shuttle service. I asked why they didn't have that advertised anywhere, and he said he didn't know why. I became frustrated, knowing that I was about to board a flight and would have an extremely short connection before my flight to Miami, therefore not having enough time to find another place. I was travelling alone with my pet and was dreading the idea of schlepping all my stuff to an Uber. Plus now I'd have to pay for an Uber when I thought I had a free hotel shuttle available. I asked the employee if there was anything else he could offer to help me out, any type of van or driver I could pay for - he simply said no. He said taxis would get tickets by the police - I asked why - he said they just do - no other explanation. I asked to speak to his manager and he said he was the only manager there. I said they should let people know that they don't offer airport shuttles on their website, and he responded by saying that they let corporate know, whatever that means. I asked multiple times if it was posted anywhere that the shuttle service is not currently available and he said he didn't know. He seemed like he couldn't care less to try to assist me. I said I was extremely frustrated and he told me I could take my business elsewhere if I was going to leave a bad review. So I did both. I understand that amenities are limited in many places right now due to COVID, but I do not appreciate the misleading advertising by hotels and the fact that they can charge full price with fewer amenities, and then act completely unapologetic about it.…
My husband and I chose to stay here because it was an inexpensive option near the airport. We have stayed at La Quinta before, but this location is terrible! We stayed November 2020 during Covid 19, so the gym, pool and breakfast was closed. We understand things being closed for safety, but the cleanliness of the hotel was so bad. First of all the hotel stunk very badly. Smelt like a combination of mildew and weed. The sheets, and towels where stained. The bathroom had little pubic hairs all over the place. A lamp on one the side of bed did not work. The volume on the television would not adjust. The floors and surfaces were filthy. I took a few photos, but had to stop because I was getting so grossed out. Also on our way checking out we noticed the elevator certificate was 5 months out of date. We will not stay here again and would recommend anyone else to look into other options in the area. …
My travel schedule required me to transfer from FLL to MIA and booked a room here. One major reason was the free airport shuttle advertised which they did not have. The bed although small was convertible and the room was clean however the noise was unbearable. There was an occasional train but the refrigerator sounded more like a small airplane. I eventually unplugged it to get some sleep. The microwave was also loud. Will not make this mistake again.
Dirty rooms! Must be a hotel by hour kinda place. Doors are dirty, beds are old and hard to sleep in. The photos while making your reservation is a bait and switch kinda thing. I had to switch rooms twice. The front desk staff were really nice!
No airport shuttle, no breakfast, no morning coffee. Room 128 (ground floor): Entrance door sticks - big time. Window can be opened form outside(!) - as well as inside - no lock, no screen, its on the ground level(!), no security. Dark, not enough lights. MUSTY, smelly, MOLD!! Furniture severely worn, sticky and some doors/drawers broken. Tabletop outlet (110v and USB) don't work. TV sound is not adjustable, but more important, had no mute function. Window has not been cleaned in years. Bed lumpy. In one word: Horrible.
