Location is key here, right beside Collins Ave, right on Ocean drive, across the beach, restaurants everywhere, steps from hop-off hop-on bus. Rooms very clean, I was pleased with that, hotel in general is rundown, you can feel the old but good value for money as breakfast is included (scrambled eggs, bread, oranges, orange juice, sausages, pancakes-same every morning), free beach chairs in ur room, no umbrella [on the beach umbrella is $20, chairs $20 as well]). You can leave your luggage after you check-out as long as you need at the counter. Gym is available to shower after checkout as well. I would return because of the cleanliness.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Beacon So. Beach. We found the location to be ideal as it is in the middle of the strip on Ocean Drive. The decor is Art Deco heaven and the small touches, such as a coffee bar in the 2nd floor vestibule for early risers, really stood out. Ms. Gonzalez, at the front desk, is the consummate professional. Her welcoming manner and graciousness was so heartwarming. I loved our room; it was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff maintained it throughout our stay. The doormen were always on point and also very courteous. In fact, all the staff were polite and eager to assist and engage with guests . The overall pleasure we experienced during our stay made the sub-par buffet breakfast unimportant . I'll stay at the Beacon again someday.
I had a wonderful experience at The Beacon Hotel in South Beach - Even though it was a short stay, the front desk were extremely nice and accommodating and allowed me to check in early - A big thank you to Veronica from the concierge for giving us some food tips in the neighborhood and such a beautiful room very clean and comfortable. If you need a place to stay close to the beach, The Beacon Hotel is your number one choice!! F
We love this hotel and stayed multiple times here. The location is excellent and fabulous, the room is clean and nice. The staff is wonderful, professional, friendly, and kind. A big thank you to the concierge Veronica, she is an amazing, carrying person who went above and beyond to be helpful to us. Very pleasant stay. We will definitely come back.
This hotel was everything and more! The ambience of the hotel was absolutely charming and very retro. I want to give a shoutout to Alex - who helped us with our parking questions and luggage all the way to Yady whom we absolutely loved and was our server at the hotel. She should be commended for her attention to detail/service and left us wanting more. If you are looking for a sleek, generic, modern hotel - please run away because this hotel as well as many others on this street are not that. This hotel oozes character just the way my husband and I like it. The only minor negative thing that I could say is the reception desk lady thought I was a person that had posted negative things and didn't ask me for a name or anything - just started with "your negative post...j" I most definitely wasn't that person. I specifically wanted this experience with this hotel and I got everything that I wished for and more....keep up the good work!…
German was absolutely fantastic. As we arrived from a long drive to celebrate our 20th anniversary, he welcomed us with a beautiful smile. His recommendation of the coconut shrimp was superb. We love German and will return! ghc-smile.com
Maybe avoid rooms on the second floor. There is a lot of activity near these rooms. The coffee is not available all day. The front desk was not very friendly or engaging. The shower should have been cleaned better.
The Beacon is the best dog-friendly hotel I've ever stayed at, so it has to be the best in South Beach. The staff, and especially the concierge Veronica, treat us and our two dogs like family. We come to South Beach every year and have always felt like the only guests there the whole time. We wouldn't stay at any other hotel! We love that the staff greets our pups every time we walk them in the park across the street, which they always enjoy. We already miss everyone there and can't wait to come back!
We consider the Beacon our home away from home. The location is excellent, the views are great, there's easy access to stores and restaurants, but most of all the staff makes us feel like home. The concierge, Veronica, is the best we've ever encountered and always makes us feel at home. This trip was our fourth time visiting and we keep coming back because we feel so special there. Veronica left us and our two little dogs welcome treats and we felt such a sense of calm settling into our room. Veronica greeted us with a smile every day and we had to make time to hug her goodbye before her day off because we knew we would miss her! The rest of the staff is also wonderful and many have worked there for years, probably because it is such a positive environment. The hotel itself is lovely with so many unexpected little features and photo ops throughout. Our room and view from the ocean front king suite was unbeatable. Our dogs love the park right across the street and we flew them all the way from Austin again since they had so much fun last time. We highly recommend the Beacon!…
THE very very GOOD: You are right in the middle of everything, plus just walk across a one lane one way road and you have walking, bicycling, volleyball and the beach. I loved the selection of restaurants available. Turns out the hotel is also pet friendly. THE minor BAD: The front steps were a bit of a slog for an older person with luggage, but everyone helped out. If someone directly upstairs moves one of the large comfortable chairs around in their room you will definitely hear it as the floors are 12 inch or larger ceramic tile. THE very minor UGLY: The uneven small bathroom wall tile, but everything worked great in the bathroom and the room.
