I choose this hotel for the location, the pool and the art deco style.
Well the location is fine, near almost everything in miami beach.
As we arrived we was informed the pool was under maintenance so we had ti move daily to other their...More
I stayed at The Raleigh at the end of May 2017 in the Art Deco Suite of which I would book again. It is a comfortable room, and there is a dual rainshower in the bathroom! I was glad to see some familiar faces again....More
My wife and I travelled to South Florida to celebrate her 50th birthday. We were planning on only staying here 1 night on our way through Miami headed to Key West. Hurricane Irma shut down Key West the day we were to arrive there so...More
Once again, my husband and I just returned from a 10 day stay at this lovely hotel. Yes, it is quaint and needs some TLC, but that is part of its amazing charm. These qualities, combined with the most wonderful staff (Fernando, Kimberly, Elkin, Peter...More
This hotel is by far the most quaint and true to its time period. While in Miami, I visited a few of the the other art deco hotels and The Raleigh has the nicest lobby and best pool. The pool needs a little work and...More

They are EXTREMELY different hotels, so it depends upon your taste. The Fontainebleau is massive, bustling and luxurious, with a posh spa, multiple restaurants and a gazillion guests and staff members who will cater to your every need. It is also pretty far up the beach, so if you want to go to where the action is (Lincoln Road Mall, with its shops and countless outdoor cafes and movie theater, and Ocean Drive) you need to drive there and park. The Raleigh is more of a boutique hotel, with a gorgeous art deco pool, a poolside bar and restaurant, valet parking, etc. It is tight on the beach and is within a short walk of the destinations above. No spa, no crowds, no commotion. Both hotels are fab. I have never been in the rooms at the Fountainebleau, but I far prefer the Raleigh. But that's me.
