Disgusting, dated and dirty hotel... My room was ocean view and while the view was great, the room was not the cleanest and needs a lot of work... There was hair on the counter, food left in the mini bar and trash in the room (candy wrappers, golf balls and paper)... I notified the front desk and they were extremely slow in responding - I had to call three times - and waited over an hour for someone to clean the room... When asked to move to a different room was told that they are at high occupancy and cannot accommodate...

If you want to pay extortionate prices for food, drinks and shabby rooms then this is the hotel for you!! The lock in our room didn’t work properly so every time we left the room and returned we couldn’t access our room which meant a trip back down to reception to get another key- happened 15 times!!... The room had no mini bar, no water and was tiny... Unfortunately, the incompetent security and front desk staff made my daughter stand for 45 minutes before they would cut another key and allow her access to the room... Then one of them escorted her (a vulnerable single female) to her bedroom on a very isolated and quiet hotel corridor, and opened the door which was unacceptable abuse of power and made her feel very anxious and scared...

We booked the reservation months ago through my company and I was to have an upgraded room to a one bedroom oceanfront suite which was a $200 upgrade. We arrived and they put us in a queen room, I called the front desk And couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone, this should’ve been the first sign... I walked down to the front desk and complained so of course they switched us to a king room, still not the correct room... We decided we would just stay in this room and get a credit but the carpet was saturated in water so we went to the front desk and they moved us again... I went down to the front desk and spoke to three different people about the situation and got absolutely nowhere finally spoke to a young lady who said she talked to a manager and we would get credited the $200 a day that we were charged for the one-bedroom suite that we never received...

Very large hotel and will start with the positives... I booked a Sorrento Ocean View Junior Suite and upon check in was told only a partial Ocean view room was available as the hotel was busy... I was told that the net day they would call and could change room... By 6pm no call had been received and I inquired at reception and was told that a room with an Ocean View was available in the Tresor Tower... I was asked to go to my room and pack and the concierge would bring the new room key and assist with my luggage... 15 mins later they called back to say that the new room was no longer available and no other rooms with an Ocean view were available... I asked to speak to the manager who apologised for the experience but assured me the current room I paid for and was allocated DID have an Ocean View... I also explained I had unpacked and repacked twice and did not want to move for the final night the following day when a room might be available... The junior suite with the apparent sea view was a little dated and the jacuzzi bath did not work... All in all a good hotel but the room experience was awful and for that reason alone I will not return...

...WE booked an expensive Junior Suite for quiet a big sum as we were 2 adults 2 kids (6y and 2y) The room was dirty wasn't vacuum cleaned and the beds were not prepared for the kids... At some point he admitted that it is from the previous guests after showing him some "body stains" Someone came 30min later to prepare the beds with fresh sheets I had to help her so we get it done fast as baby crying kids like sleepy zombies already in the other bed!... Next day we woke up and thought the horror was over housekeeping just didn't turn up didn't change the beds towels nothing!... Eventually I convinced the call centre to get MARiA the supervisor to come and see the state of the room... The hotel is overpriced, overrated maybe a European 3.5* and in the USA maybe 4*!... Imagine if you book a super expensive Junior Suite which we did and you don't get a clean room with 4 beds prepared, what would you get with a standard room??... I booked it on hotels.com as a gold memeber you get 75usd voucher to spend and 2 hours extra for late checkout!... Next time when in Miami I would go for a boutique hotel where you are still a guest and not just a room number!...

...They were completely booked due to three conventions at the same time! As shocked, disappointed and dismayed as I was, I couldn't focus on that I had to find a hotel for my vacation - forget my ocean view room I now have to take what I can get!... Fortunately I had an app called Hotel tonight... The deal did not include an ocean view room, so I explained what happened at Fontainebleau and requested a complimentary upgrade to an ocean view room and they gave it to me with a balcony!...

...even though we had prepaid for our stay months ago. At 5pm I was told I’d get a text in 1-2 hours (after waiting in line for an hour) to come pick up my room key... We were met with yet another line, and no information whatsoever about our room or what was going on... We were told in line by another guest that they had been waiting for their room since 2pm, and another guest let us know that the rooms were being double booked... We waited another hour in line, before booking another, obviously more expensive property across town - can’t really avoid that when you are trying to book night of on Labor Day weekend (exactly why we booked our trip with you so far in advance!)... However, we spent over $400 MORE to book a last minute hotel because we couldn’t stay in the room we had already booked and paid for with you... Not to mention compensation for not only the extreme inconvenience, but also the additional costs we had to pay to stay elsewhere...

Being a native of Miami Beach, I like to splurge a bit at times, I decided to come to one of the more popular hotels on the beach, I haven’t stayed here in years due to the “luxury” price tag for everything... To begin with, no one answers the phone, check in was a hassle, and the rooms are outdated and smell like a pool... I’m here in my room right now staring at an ihome system that can literally be found in an antique store, and it’s dusty...

...To start off upon checking in I asked to be quoted on adding a 2nd room as we pre paid for a 2 QN ocean view and was quoted $350/night for 3 nights for a King Bay view room which I found reasonable. On my invoice I was charged $419, $489 & $529 +Occupancy Tax + State Tax + Hotel Fee etc.. We only used ONE Fiji waters and were charged for 2 @ $12 plus all the ridiculous fees they add to the charge on top of that... You will notice a "service charge" of 20% on every invoice regardless of where you spend your money... Then at the restaurant by the pool we were told the same and tipped 20% on top of the 20% Service Charge because we felt for the staff... We feel scammed as we typically left 20% gratuity on top of the "service fee"... This along with being scammed completely ruined our experience as its seemed to be a common theme overcharging guests from restaurants to in room purchases... Sadly I was wrong so buyer beware...

...Over all not a bad hotel but facilities were clearly past end of life and just not worth the $600 avg nightly rate... Everything has a service charge and only a small percentage of that went to the actual wait staff... Hotel has very little amenities included in room or facility fees, everything else is an up-charge ($25 fee to use a beach umbrella, fee for a mini fridge in room, etc) and food is very expensive ($30 for a burger)... To there credit, when asked about my stay during check out and I said it was just ok, the women at the front desk waved two nights of the resort fee... For the price, would suggest staying elsewhere...

...Very nice to deal with The hotel is very pricey... Drinks are overly priced and makes it very difficult to stay there and eat/drink on the premises... If there is a bit of wind the umbrellas are not placed because they don't want to open them but you sure do roast pretty quick out there with no coverage and The Umbrellas I believe are overpriced they should be part of the hotel guests only... They charge $25 per umbrella, and 1 isn't enough for full sun blockage for 2 people laying there... Not many restaurant options and very expensive, especially the breakfast buffet... Not too many options for food however all very good but very very expensive for a weekend getaway...

If you are going for nice rooms or service this isn’t your place... Or bathroom sink flooded and the balcony ocean view we paid extra for was right over a roof with a road leading to the garbage cans... The pool area is super nice and staff gives good service but you better be your wallet out and get out there by 7:30am if you want a decent seat and not pay over $200 for a reserved seat or cabana... Absolutely nothing eas cheap here... I suggest staying somewhere else but coming by and taking advantage of the few positives...

Other issues were that hotel amenities were overpriced and a rip off... For example we had to pay $200 to use the sunbed for 1/2 a day... The food was an absolute rip-off at $250 daily average per person in the restaurants...

Being a native of Miami Beach, I like to splurge a bit at times, I decided to come to one of the more popular hotels on the beach, I haven’t stayed here in years due to the “luxury” price tag for everything... For $45, valet is super rude, gentleman was on the phone making plans with his friend allowing for a line to pile up, and the girl at the valet booth for pick up didn’t acknowledge me for a bit... If you read these reviews, trust them, don’t waste all this money here... I’m here with my children, and I was really skeptical about coming here after reading the reviews, it definitely is something you should pass... If you come with kids, the fridge has an extra charge to use, you would have to order one with housekeeping if they have one... I’m here for two days, I already want to go back home and would if I could get my money back...

We were excited about our stay at this hotel in Miami but when we arrived on September 9th we were told that their system was down and we had to wait for our room, we waited for over half the day and didn't get in our room until after midnight but before we did we had to write down our Credit Card number and other info on a sheet of paper to get into our room even though we had already paid for 3 nights with Expedia... The next day when I got home I noticed that I was charged $1,200 to my credit card which I did not authorize and since that time I have called the hotel over and over and explained what happened, each time they apologize and say they will call me back or email me about my refund but never do... They still have not refunded my money and it's been over a month...

...even though we had prepaid for our stay months ago... We waited another hour in line, before booking another, obviously more expensive property across town - can’t really avoid that when you are trying to book night of on Labor Day weekend (exactly why we booked our trip with you so far in advance!)... Thankfully, our credit card company has already refunded us for our entire stay... However, we spent over $400 MORE to book a last minute hotel because we couldn’t stay in the room we had already booked and paid for with you... Not to mention compensation for not only the extreme inconvenience, but also the additional costs we had to pay to stay elsewhere...

...You can call house keeping (it's a call centre outside the hotel, they don't really care that you need the beds to be prepared as the kids are sleepy at 11pm Miami time 4am London time) Eventually someone came who pulled the sofa into a bed and it had all the bedsheets on it from the previous guest (including a lost credit card) and claimed we can sleep in it. At some point he admitted that it is from the previous guests after showing him some "body stains" Someone came 30min later to prepare the beds with fresh sheets I had to help her so we get it done fast as baby crying kids like sleepy zombies already in the other bed!... I have given this hotel plenty of time and chances to reach out to me after the horrible Labor Day weekend we experienced, but have not had any communication from them... At 5pm I was told I’d get a text in 1-2 hours (after waiting in line for an hour) to come pick up my room key... My husband and I left the hotel to explore the area and get some dinner, all while waiting on a text... We were told in line by another guest that they had been waiting for their room since 2pm, and another guest let us know that the rooms were being double booked... Then, I wrote an email through your website on 9/13 that said I would be contacted with 48 hours... Thankfully, our credit card company has already refunded us for our entire stay...

Visited Fontainebleau for a long weekend with 3 of my best friends and all I can say is WOW!! we arrived on Thursday around 12:30 and our room was ready so we were allowed to check in... We stayed in the Chateau Tower in an oceanfront junior suite and it was stunning!... The room overlooked the bow tie pool with a beautiful view of the ocean... We rented a tiki chair on Friday and we had English as our pool boy (not sure what his official title is) and I cannot say enough about how awesome English is..the service he provided was so awesome we requested him for our cabana the next day!... Valentinia was our server and she was so sweet and gave us great service!... Saturday we had a cabana for the day and we enjoyed being able to watch football all day and be out of the sun when we wanted!... Elena was our server and she took great care of us!... Most of our meals were at the pool but we did venture to Stripsteak on Friday night for birthday dinners and all I can say is if you haven’t eaten here, you are missing out!... I really only have 1 complaint and that was really would have loved having a coffee pot in the room but other than that, everything was AMAZING!!...

Other than that, It's all upscale dining which I love but not for every meal... I get the charge for cabana's but the pool chairs should be available to anyone...

...The hotel is a very nice property, although not as spectacular as advertised. The rooms are well appointed, as are the public areas... Employees are generally uninterested and are rather dismissive of guest requests... The beach is spectacular, as is the pool, and the restaurants are plentiful and varied...

Being a native of Miami Beach, I like to splurge a bit at times, I decided to come to one of the more popular hotels on the beach, I haven’t stayed here in years due to the “luxury” price tag for everything... The pros, the pool and the nice setting, staff outside is delightful... If you come with kids, the fridge has an extra charge to use, you would have to order one with housekeeping if they have one...

...The first time we came to the Fontainebleau Miami Beach was in 2015. We had a wonderful time as the room was clean, sheets were crisp, room service was friendly and accommodating, and the overall feeling was that of elegance and charm... The room was nice, but we couldn’t enjoy our balcony because the neighbors in the next room were screaming from their balcony to someone below for about two hours...

My husband and I recently had an amazing stay at Fontainebleau Miami. The pool area was spectacular, offering breathtaking views. What truly set this experience apart was the impeccable service provided by Raul. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor made our time there unforgettable. I highly recommend Fontainebleau for a luxurious and enjoyable getaway. And find Raul if you can!

We were travelling through Miami so decided to stay hear for 3 nights and explore Miami. The room was good a bay view that had been newly refurbished and was very clean. We arrived in the evening we looked to have something to eat but it was very expensive and with a 20% service charge we decided against it. We went for a couple of drinks and wow with the service charge and other extras we never went again, and ate out locally at more reasonable rates. On checking out our bill had 47 dollars per night extra, my husband enquired what it was for and was told it was the resort charge for use of the facilities, we didn’t arrive until late, spent the next day exploring Miami, it rained the next day and we then departed early. Nice hotel but too many hidden costs so would not stay again.

My family and I spent the last week at the Fountainbleau Hotel. On our last day at the pool on Monday we were warmly greeted with a smile by a pool attendant named Jonny. Throughout the day he took care of our needs and checked up on us. Great experience overall :)

I just want to say that the fountainblea was great as always. They make my family feel like home, especially when we go down to the pool we are treated very well and they know us by first name after the first couple minutes of meeting us. Jonn who is a younger guy, but is very mature and great at what he does, helped us allot. Also Lucas, who took care of us almost every day, was also great. He was very kind to my son Dominick. Jonn and Lucas made our stay above and beyond what we expected. Thanks guys!!

When we arrived the front desk agent disappeared for 20 min and came back with a manager who told us our ocean front suite was not available and they wanted to “upgrade” us to a back building partial ocean view, larger room. We told her we had chosen this hotel of many many and wanted ocean front . We finally agreed on a downgraded room that was in the main building not quite oxen front but better than the one they tried to force on us. She told us they would reduce the rate and comp all resort fees . Upon departure, they reduced the rate but not all resort fees . We asked for late check out and got an hour , no more . Food and drinks pricey and you have to pay $370 for a cabana if you want first row on the beach ..same at the pool . They automatically add 20% gratuity to all food and beverage bills. Bottom line .//buyer beware. May have felt differently if they had at least given later check out .

We had planned our first parents getaway back in the summer and were ecstatic to head in when the time came this past weekend. I had read some of the bad reviews before we made our trek and told my wife, but she said it couldn’t be that bad. This place is a staple. Well, upon arriving Friday, it turned out to be far worse. When we tried to check in, the front desk told us that our reservation was cancelled days prior. I explained that couldn’t be possible and they brushed it off and told me to check with my bank who I booked through. After an hour with my bank going back to the resort and explaining I had a booking, they tried to fix the issue but had a system failure. They told me to call again since it wasn’t booking. After another hour (2 hours at this point) they outright cancelled our stay. We lost our original room and travel rewards. My wife was in tears and that for me was an absolute awful experience to go through. We ended up deciding to book since we really wanted to have a vacation. They booked us a different room with different rate and lost our oceanfront suite. When we did finally get to the room 3 hours after we arrived, it was abysmal. The carpet was ragged, the bedding had holes, the pillow cases were tattered, and the room just had this off pudding odor to it. We decided that at this point we would try to make the most of it. Honestly, the staff for the restaurants and shops were the only saving grace. Having a 20% resort fee on everything and every single purchase was seriously overpriced. Everything was overpriced and just not worth it for this place. It was our first and officially last time ever staying at this place. To top it all off, when we did finally book the room Friday, the front desk said they’d comp us the hotel fee for the two nights. When we just checked out, I received the itemized receipt and saw that the fees were still charged. We never got anything for the awful check in and stay experience. This place had to be better 20 years ago. Even the nightclub we went to was downright grimey and lackluster. They were charging Vegas prices for a less than 1 star experience. This was such a shame and honestly we maybe should have left before the weekend was over.
