While some luxury properties can tend to skew stuffy and formal, the Delano is anything but. Trendy, but laid back and cool, understated. While I love the chic all white rooms and wonderful service, the lounge and bar steal the show. The bartenders are very friendly and fun and the white flowing sheets are just the perfect touch for a beach front hotel bar. The location is "hot" and very walkable to all the places you want to be and really that's the reason you come to South Beach.
Im in praise of the hotel staff & amenities but would like to tell the readers about my horrendous experience during check out. My room was fully paid by the travel agent but at the time of check in I got charged again by mistake by the hotel (its too big of a mistake by a reputable hotel). Its ok mistakes do happen. I checked out on the 2nd of march 2020 and after calling the hotel and writing continuous emails to them I still haven't got a refund till date (today is 2nd sept 2020). Even after being at fault the hotel management is not bothered to process the refund. All they have been saying for the past 6 months specially Mr. Maykel Albernas is that the refund is in process. Every time I call the hotel I'm charged international rates since I'm back in India. Ive been tossed to about 6 different people to whom I had to narrate the entire wrong charge story leading to no result. Ive never faced such a horrible experience with any management before this. I request anyone planning to stay at the Delano or any subsidiary to please be very cautious at the time of check out…
As always the Delano absolutely rocks. Great pool, menu changes a bit but still delicious. Hotel staff is attentive and always ready to provide customer service. Rooms are clean and always turned over promptly.
Yeah I like this placeThe rooms have four walls and a And a shower and toilet I met a lot of nice people in there nice pool too and beach very pretty you’re a lot of people in the pool make it fun the pool The pool has water in it good for swimming I like this place I’ll come back
Much like other recent reviewers I took had booked a stay at Delano where they took a 1 night deposit up front. Then the hotel could not honor the stay due to being closed for Covid-19. I have called and spoken to the operator at the hotel numerous times and gotten no response. When I first spoke with them about the cancelation they said I would get a refund within 10 days. Then they said they were taking a little longer. Then they said within 60 days I would have my money. Of course that did not happen either. I would not recommend anyone stay with Delano or SBE Group hotels based on this type of customer service.
We had planned a road trip across Florida but were unable to travel due to Covid 19. We booked this hotel with free cancellation and cancelled on 23rd March. They took the money for a night’s stay immediately but have still not returned the money. They make excuses about the lock down but we cancelled before this. We had booked 14 hotels for our trip and this hotel is the absolute worst for service and response.
The Delano is a 5 star hotel on Collins Ave. in Miami. I have been to Miami serval times and always drop into the Delano for dinner and drinks. So, I booked the hotel to celebrate an important milestone birthday. I dropped the hotel a line to let them know I had made a reservation (but never received a response) and expected a little special attention, but there was no acknowledgement of my special occasion by the hotel. We were given room 1112 with a street view (Collins ave.). The all-white room was tired at best, with scrapes and dents around the place and curtains that didn't close. While there is such a thing as wear and tear, I don't want to see that at a premium hotel! The bathroom was so small, not a luxe space at all. But the room was well tended by the cleaning staff. I ordered room service for my birthday - Eggs Benedict and pancakes - it was so good - see pics. We had dinner on the terrace that evening, it was so good - the squid ink pasta is exceptional (see pics) - our server was chatty and attentive. I noted it was cheaper to dine there as a guest than as a walk-in. For me, it is small details that make a stay special, like a bottle of champagne and a note for an occasion booking, that make the stay just a little more special - especially when you are paying for a five-star hotel. Staff were very good and attentive, especially the pool team - who do make a fuss on my birthday when I mentioned it. However, one of my bugbears is that it is packed with non-guests by the pool. This is not unusual for Miami hotels - but why should we (guests) pay a premium for non-guests to hog the loungers????? The Delano is expensive, there's no doubt, is it 5-star?... I'm not sure it is. Many reviews say that it's had its day. Would I stay here again?... I am not sure.…
I have stayed at the Delano 5 years in a row and have loved it .. However I had to cancel due to the Covid outbreak . I cancelled on March 23rd 2020 and have yet to receive a refund I have telephoned at my own expense from the UK ten times and was told I would receive it imminently. I am still waiting and unfortunately will never stay there again I am thoroughly disappointed with their slow response. Every other hotel I had to cancel for the same reason refunded within a week . It is absolutely unacceptable!!!
I booked a last minute reservation a month ago for the Delano. I was immediately charged the next day for one night. I cancelled it that next day once it became apparent that travel would be restricted (within the allowable time frame). I received confirmation of cancellation. A month later, no refund. I have called and was directed to their website which states they are honoring cancellations. I have sent 3 separate emails from their website and have not received a single response. They had the staff and the ability to process the charge, but not to reverse it. I had another vacation booked at a Marriott. I canceled and was immediately refunded the room charge. This hotel is part of a hotel group (Morgan Hotel Group). It's not a mom and pop B&B. Not acceptable to not even receive a reply.…
I visited with the need of few days of relaxation to recharge but still wanted to be close enough to the action that it wouldn’t be an issue getting around. This was my first stay and won’t be my last! The hotel is stunning, calm and chic and my room was an absolute dream (very clean) and effortless to relax in. I spent most of my time at the beach club and was spoiled by the best and most friendly staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting...shoutout to Louby, Giuseppe and Fred for excellent service and hospitality! From the front desk to room service and housekeeping, everyone was friendly, efficient and professional. I most definitely have made Delano my new Miami go to!
