Circa 39 Hotel delights many guests with its proximity to the beach and the provision of beach chairs and umbrellas, though some have raised concerns about the availability and added fees for amenities. The hotel's atmosphere is often described as charming and inviting, with beautiful decor and a cozy vibe. While the rooms are praised for their decoration, reports of maintenance, size, and cleanliness issues have surfaced. Service quality appears inconsistent, as accolades for the friendly staff contrast with complaints about professionalism and extra charges. The location is a highlight, offering easy access to local attractions, but opinions on value are divided due to unexpected fees.

Circa39 was a nice surprise! The room was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the hoards of sterile boring hotel rooms that have taken over the world. The hardwood floors were nice and the ceiling fan was great! Very cool/stylish, and thoughtful furnishings separated this hotel from so many others. The location was fantastic and only a 60 second walk to the beach. They have beach chairs for free and umbrella rentals for $20.00 for the entire day. They also offer free parking if you book through their site directly...that is awesome! It was so convenient to have a remote for the parking lot to come and go easily as we wanted. The hotel staff are great too! They were more than happy to make suggestions for places to eat outside of the hotel or suggest unique activities to do in the area. We are from N. Florida and frequent this area regularly all year long, this hotel was great and we will stay here often. They do not nickle and dime you like the majority of hotels do in this area and that means a lot to us. It's like they actually value us and want us to return. You won't be disappointed if you are looking for a hotel that has some style and treats it's customers right.....I'll be back for sure!

We spent four nights and five days at Circa 39. I had emailed ahead to request a quiet room away from the noise, as well as an early check in if possible. My email was read but not acknowledged. We had to wait about 2 1/2 hours to check in; they gladly stored our luggage while we took a walking tour and had lunch. We fortunately got a room over the bridge (2103). We found it to be mostly quiet, and only saw our next door neighbor the morning we were leaving. The rooms was nicely appointed, not too big, but certainly adequate. There was a musty odor, so we requested a dehumidifier and used it the entire time and it helped somewhat. Bed was comfy, housekeeping service the room adequately. All of the staff that we encountered was friendly and helpful. We had the breakfast buffet one morning, and it was adequate. We aren't the types to overfill our plates, so it was a little expensive for what we actually ate. The Wunderbar was great, and enjoyed a happy hour cocktail near the pool. Take advantage of the happy hour prices. Towels for the beach are plentiful, and it is just across the street. Beach chairs are readily available, and we chose to rent an umbrella 2 days for $20. The beach staff was friendly and accommodating. The beach walk is lovely to see the sunrise and walk down to South Beach. Evenings, we chose uber to get around to where ever we didn't want to walk.
All in all, a relaxing getaway trip and would certainly re-visit Circa 39 again.

Four of us stayed for a week in two rooms in this gorgeous small hotel, just off Miami Beach seafront.
The Customer Service was excellent, no request was too much trouble.
An Initial problem with our room was swiftly dealt with by the management & we were moved to a new room the next day.
The rooms have an airy modern Mediterranean feel, real wood flooring, a deep comfortable mattress on a high bed with a good sized LCD TV (great for a Firestick/Chromcast) if you want to Netflix and Chill.
Crisp Clean white sheets and Egyptian Cotton Towels brightened the Air Conditioned rooms.
There was also an overhead remote controlled 3-speed ceiling fan with centre lighting.
The EnSuite restrooms featured large backlit mirrors, and a generous sized walk in shower with good pressure & rainfall/handheld dual shower heads.
The wardrobes also included a free safe, a clean mini fridge, hair dryer, iron & ironing board, with robes and beach towels.
Our Rooms were serviced daily.
There's small Gym & good sized Pool to do lengths. These were open until 11pm every night.
NB. Your own food, drinks or snacks were not allowed to be eaten by the pool, just in the Communal Area.
Beach/Pool Towels are supplied free of charge and the hotel has it's own section of the beach with Orange Parasols where you can use a complimentary: 2 beds & 1 parasol per room - just show your hotel key to the beach attendants.

If you're looking for a cosy place to stay, close to Miami beach I'd highly recommend Circa 39.

We stayed at Crica 39 for three nights in early January. Our room was on a the second floor. We arrived at 3pm and we're immediately shown to our room which was lovely and clean. Because we had flown on the red eye we were exhausted and tried to have a nap but the cleaning service was next door and we could hear everything. The chatter, the vacuum, the moving of furniture and the people coming and going in the hallway.

I went downstairs to reception to ask if they supplied ear plugs. I didn't think that the lack of sound proofing was news to them, but I was mistaken. They didn't have any ear plugs and didn't seem interested in our situation.

We went out, purchased ear plugs, had a meal and came back for the night. Again due to our jet lag, we feel asleep immediately only to be woken up by people upstairs, walking, jumping, moving furniture? We didn't know. The earplugs helped, but the people upstairs repeated their noisy stomping and noise making every night for at least three hours.

I probably should have requested a room change but I didn't think that people could be making so much noise for so long and once I'm in bed, I just want to stay there.

If you have to stay at this hotel, make sure you request the top floor and bring your ear plugs or noise canceling head phones. Also skip the breakfast. It's way too expensive for what it is.

This property has the potential to be amazing! I really wanted to love it, and I am not an overall picky traveler, but couldn’t look past how this hotel is maintained at the bare minimum. It’s really too bad because it has so much potential that will take little effort to make it amazing! It looks like it was updated one time a while back and not maintained since then. This hotel is lacking just overall attention to detail throughout the property and lacks service staff.

Location, lobby and bar area are very nice. Rooms are just OK! The pool area needs to be updated-ripped/stained cushions and the lounge pool area is presented in photos looks nothing like what is in person. Ordering food and drink takes a a very long time, which isn’t the bartenders fault, they just don’t have enough staff. The morning breakfast is awful. They offer an old croissant, fruit that isn’t fresh and a mini orange juice. They can do so much better even with a grab and go concept.

This hotel needs to hire more staff to take orders, serve food, maintain front porch eating area, change trash throughout hotel as it was constantly overflowing and provide overall better service. The Wonder Garden is unfortunately not maintained and looks nothing like the photos. Trash in gardens as well as cigarette butts throughout. This isn’t a desirable area to relax in as it is presented but could be if it was maintained.

Overall was my stay horrible-no! I think this is a great place for travelers that will just accept the property for what it is and the lack of service they will get and be OK with that. It would take very little to make this property a 4 star and I hope the management realize they need to work on the service and details.

Stayed here for two nights. Based on other reviews, I requested a top-floor room facing the courtyard to cut down on any noise. We were traveling away from our early-rising little kids and had two days to catch up on about a year’s worth of sleep, hah. We were placed in a second floor room on the side street. We called the front desk and were told they were fully booked and the only other room was similar but faced a wall. We had heels clicking above us, sirens/cars revving all night, doors slamming all over the hotel, and garbage trucks slamming dumpsters repeatedly. We could hear the loud group hanging out in the courtyard but they went to sleep relatively early. My husband got 1 1/2 hours of sleep the second night. Not exactly the rest we were looking for.

The room and hotel itself is very cute and quaint. The happy hour drinks and food were good, and the staff very nice. We got a very good deal and I wanted to stay here so we could book a spa treatment at the Aveda Spa at their sister hotel but next time we will be willing to pay to stay at a resort with better soundproofing.

We were only here for two nights but we really enjoyed our stay! Nice hotel that's conveniently located across the street from the beach. Our room was quite small, but was very clean and nicely appointed. The staff here are super friendly! We loved the Wunderbar and took advantage of the free drink coupons. I had one of the best mojitos ever! Our only small complaint was that we didn't find the breakfast buffet at Jules Kitchen was worth the price. If you want a cheap breakfast option that's also really good, go next door to Primo Cafe and Market. They have a few tables outside or you can do takeout. If you want to visit South Beach and don't have a car, it's about a 30-40 minute walk or you can take the free trolley or even an Uber for less than $10.

We are taking a Christmas beach vacation as a family. It’s a bitter sweet situation, as my 83 year old mother has had a rough go of it. We lost my Dad and my two aunts (her only siblings) in a 5 month span. We decided to switch things up for the holidays! It’s a little challenging finding a place that serves all our needs, so when I found Circa 39 I was elated. It seems like the perfect location for our children to have beach fun, yet it looks like it has the amenities that will make the adults feel like they are on vacation too. Needless to say, I was very upset when (after booking on bookings.com) my request to have our 2 rooms on the same floor was met with a 100 dollar guarantee fee. I called the hotel directly yesterday! This morning Mario called me and cleared up the misunderstanding…talk about amazing customer service. I’m already impressed and my trip is 2 months away! I will definitely expand on this post after the holidays. But if our stay is anything like my interaction with Mario…we are going to have an amazing vacation. Thanks Mario!

We stayed here for 7 nights at the end of Nov beginning of Dec before traveling to New York for 4 nights to celebrate my 50th. We loved it, it's a small hotel just what we wanted only 3 floors, we stayed at the back overlooking the courtyard and it was lovely, we found it quite and the courtyard was beautiful especially at night when it was all lit up. We didn't eat or drink at the hotel so can't comment on the food or drinks. We were up and out every morning about 7am and walked along the beautiful boardwalk to north beach which took us about 50 mins but was a pretty and enjoyable walk and had breakfast at ihop or dennys which made it all worth it to know we'd burn some calories off before eating all the yummy pancakes. South beach was only about a 35min walk which we did most evenings, and there's a free trolly bus that takes you to both south and North if you don't like walking, we never used taxis, the bus stop was nearby as well which you could catch to downtown Miami. The pool is small but with a gorgeous beach just across the road we never used the pool either. All in all the hotel was perfect for us, quirky and cute, spotlessly clean, near enough to get to South beach without being in the thick of it,hotel staff lovely and helpful, they sorted out our transfers for us when I couldn't get through to the company. I'd definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again.

When our Spring Break cruise was cancleled, I found Circa 39 so we could still enjoy the warm climate. The price was amazing...I booked direct on their website. We rode the Miami Metrobus Airport Express 150 for free (due to Covid) and it dropped us off on the same block. Right on Ocean Drive, Circa 39 has front patio with tables, cute lobby with lounging areas, a bar, and breakfast/dining area. The free continental breakfast was bagged with croissant, fresh fruit, and orange juice (coffee/hot tea also available). It was great to take to the beach, lounge or pool area. Nice pool area with beautiful privacy hedges with chairs and 2 free "cabana" areas. Rooms were very cute and decorative. King size bed was awesome with comfortable pillows and duvet covers. Mini fridge, hair dryer, iron and lockable safe. No microwave in our room. Staff were all amazing and I feel that must be a reflection of a good work environment by management. Our A/C had problems one day and they quickly offered another room, plus free drink coupons. Beach access right across street with 2 free chairs per room and optional $20 umbrella or $30 cabana cover. MidBeach area was more family/quiet than things we heard about on South Beach. Beautiful beach/water and we had fun playing in the surf. This is definitely a place we recommend and will return to.
