This was supposed to be a girls vacation. We arrived on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. The elevators were not working and we were assigned a room on the third floor (difficult to get up the stairs with large luggage) that had dust bunnies (it had not been vacuumed for some time). The staff was very patient with us and willingly showed us a second room that had a very musty smell - it must have had smokers in there as well. The staff again showed us a third room which was next door to the generators and we could not hear each other talk. We had already paid for our resort fees but did not want to stay here anymore. We asked for our money back as we were going to leave. We were told that we could not get our money back/nor the resort fees. The staff offered us to go to another hotel they owned. We had to pack all our belongings into a cab and head to the Harrison Hotel. We arranged with another kind staff, Beverley, to have her send an e-mail with our concerns. We waited a few days and I kept sending follow-up e-mails and finally a meeting was set up with the Manager Claudia Gordillo, who promised us a return of resort fees and a 15% discount. After following up, only the resort fees were returned to us.…
Short two night stay on the way home from visiting Cancun. Was looking forward to our stay but completely disappointed as on arrival we were told the elevator wasn’t working and although booked a twin bedded room was given a double on the third floor! Bathroom towels torn, toilet bowl not flushing or filling properly. Staff not helpful or interested at all. We changed rooms for our second night and found out that the elevator hadn’t been working for over a month! :-( Would not recommend this place at all unless you pay a very cheap rate!
Stayed in south beach for two weeks and booked various nights in different hotels. Have to say that this hotel has the biggest rooms ever. Extremely helpful and personal staff. The hotel is going through a change of ownership and has the potential to be fantastic as it was in the early nineties. From the time we arrived, Claudia, Annabel and Alberto were amazing, so helpful. Although some areas of the hotel need attention which we were told from the time of booking, our experience here with the staff was the best we had on south beach. Old style Art Deco big fabulous sized rooms. On leaving did a cruise we were welcomed back to store our luggage post cruise for a few hours only which was perfect. They didn’t nee to do this, very customer focused indeed. This place is excellent if you want to be a few blocks ( 5 - 10) mins walk from the main strip of ocean drive. Very quiet and nice small breakfast a bonus. The lady at breakfast was just lovely too. The pool area is ok but best to hit the beach, it needs a little work which the hotel are currently acting on but great to sit outside for breakfast. Book this place if you want an excellent location, don’t mind walking 5 mins to beach ( towels provided) and enjoy friendly and very helpful staff. Thank you Claudia, Annabel and Alberto - a really lovely stay !! We will be back. Colin & Darren (UK)…
I'm extremely disappointed that I stayed at this hotel. My husband tried to call Priceline to get a refund, but they said it was to late because we checked in. This hotel did not have the basic amenities promised on their website. For example, free parking. Parking is not FREE! You have to do valet parking and its $40. Half of the stuff advertised is false. When I went to my room, we did not have any heat. It was 40 degrees outside and the a.c. was on high. When I called the front desk to have someone come fix it, the rep said the guy who fixes things left for the day. It was like 4pm in the afternoon, and theres no one there to fix anything if something breaks down. Then there was no toilet paper at all in the room. The rep who hardly spoke english gave us another room on another floor. Found out that the elevator did not work, and when I got to the new room that she gave us, I found out that they dont provide cable. So my husband and I had no working t.v.. Basically the hotel does not provide heat, cable, toilet paper, free parking and restaurant. The rep at the front desk told me that I should of brought a laptop, because they at least offer wifi. The only good thing I can say about the hotel is that the mattress is comfortable and the location is good. That's it! This hotel was rated as a 3.5 star hotel, but it's really a 2 star hotel.…
Had an absoulutely infuriating stay at this hotel. We got transfered from another SB hotel that had to shut down. We got a room where the airconditon wasn’t cooling. So the room was 80 degrees :( The hotel then told us they had fixed it.. they hadn’t. They told us we’d get a new room, we didn’t get it untill 9pm -After waiting around for hours, not exacly how we wanted to spend our time. Elevator was broken. There was no wifi. When we asked for new batteries for our remote, we were told that they didn’t have any because everything was brand new... that must be with the exeption of the batteries... also the heavily stained carpets all over is worn out hotel. So no T.V either! Pick another hotel!
