I don't know WTF people are smoking who leave positive reviews of this place, but BE WARNED this place is an absolute dump. Room Issues: 1. One towel per person for multiple night stay. 2. Only two pillows for two people, one of them was terrible. 2. One trash can in the bathroom, none in room. 3. Terrible thin white curtains that do not block any light from entering. 4. Bathroom sink barely drains. 5. Daily housekeeping is not offered. 6. No refrigeration in room. 7. No closet, just a clothes rack in the room. 8. No desk or table, just tiny nightstands. 9. Bad lighting. 10. Bathroom fan does not work. 11. No tissue paper, only a roll of toilet paper. 12. No safe in the room. Hotel Issues: 1. Broken elevator, in complete shambles. 2. Trash and debris laying everywhere. 3. Lobby, garden, bar, and pool all closed due to construction. 4. Lobby only has a coffee pod machine, there was no vending machines or ice. 5. Tap water is not drinkable.

Hello CreekLife4Me, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback related to your recent stay at The Astor Hotel. We apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations. We understand that you encountered issues with some of the room amenities and the condition of the hotel, and would like to clarify a few points that were made. Daily housekeeping is offered to guests on a request basis, and we apologize if this was not communicated to you clearly at check-in time. While the elevator is being repaired, we have added additional staff to assist with bringing our guests' luggage up to their rooms. The debris found in the hallway is being left by the technicians on site who are working on the elevator. Our hallways are cleaned 2 times daily and if any trash is seen between those routines our housekeeping staff has been instructed to remove it. Please also note that while the pool and restaurant is closed due to contstruction, we do not list these items listed as amenities on any booking platforms to avoid any misunderstandings or disappointments from guests. In regard to your remaining points, please know that we take your feedback seriously and will be taking steps to address the issues you experienced during your stay. We also appreciate your patience as we work through the ongoing construction. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope that we can provide you with a better experience in the future. Sincerely, LuxUrban Hotels Management Team

Do NOT book this hotel, you will deeply regret it. A/C did not work, room was HOT. Not comfortable to sleep in, let alone relax in. TV and safe were both broken. Couldn't watch TV or lock up our valuables. Window on our first floor room was shattered. We were picking old food, an empty used bottle, and trash off the floor. There's gum stuck to the wall. This room hasnt been propery cleaned for a long time. We slept on top of the covers with our clothes on. We only got two towels for 4 people. No restaurant open and pool was unavailable. They refused to switch us rooms both days we stayed, even though they had us wait around like there was hope. Hotel and room looks absolutely NOTHING like the pictures. Paid almost $470 for 2 nights and I would expect this out of a $40 motel. They simply don't care. We stayed up until 11pm at night waiting for the manager to contact us to resolve anything and they didn't ever call us. The whole 3 days we were there, there were bags of dirty laundry and trash piled up next to the stairs. Unsanitary... No coffee in rooms either. Lobby has it but no coffee cups. We emailed management and they won't do a thing, basically unresponsive... Not during our stay to move us to an operable/sanitary room or over a week after. Stay FAR away! Dirty, hot, broken down hotel. I'm getting ready to file a report with the BBB etc. With bad management operations like this and completely fake hotel amenities and pictures, they won't be operating for much longer.

Elevator doesn’t work. AC doesn’t work. WI-FI doesn’t work. Enough said. But also the room is old and dirty, nothing like the pictures. Same with the lobby. Check in was a mess. Only 1 guy working (he was super nice) so had to wait 30 minutes to check in. There were 2 people downstairs complaining that the AC didn’t work. This is Miami, AC is a must. This place was a complete rip off and not 3.5 stars.

Hello Danny, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback related to a recent stay at Hotel Astor. We are sorry to hear about the negative experience, specifically related to Wi-fi, cleanliness, elevator, AC units and staff, as that does not align with the level of service we strive to provide our guests. Please know that we take your feedback seriously and have taken immediate action at the property to address your concerns. We have added additional staff at the property within the last week to help with staff shortages, and in regards to the AC units, we have technicians currently on site working on a fix so the issue should be fully resolved shortly. The elevator is being fixed by the property owner and while we do not have an estimated completion date yet, we have now assigned specific staff members to help guests with luggage until the elevator is fully operational again. Additionally, we have just changed cleaning crews that wil have a positive impact on cleanliness level at the property, and daily cleaning is offered to guests during their stay on a request basis. We hope that the ations recently taken on site will help provide a much better overall experience for future guests, and hope for an opportunity to earn your trust to someday give us a try again to enjoy those noticeable improvements with us. Thank you for being our valued guest! Sincerely, LuxUrban Hotels Management Team

This was supposed to be a girls vacation. We arrived on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. The elevators were not working and we were assigned a room on the third floor (difficult to get up the stairs with large luggage) that had dust bunnies (it had not been vacuumed for some time). The staff was very patient with us and willingly showed us a second room that had a very musty smell - it must have had smokers in there as well. The staff again showed us a third room which was next door to the generators and we could not hear each other talk. We had already paid for our resort fees but did not want to stay here anymore. We asked for our money back as we were going to leave. We were told that we could not get our money back/nor the resort fees. The staff offered us to go to another hotel they owned. We had to pack all our belongings into a cab and head to the Harrison Hotel. We arranged with another kind staff, Beverley, to have her send an e-mail with our concerns. We waited a few days and I kept sending follow-up e-mails and finally a meeting was set up with the Manager Claudia Gordillo, who promised us a return of resort fees and a 15% discount. After following up, only the resort fees were returned to us.

Short two night stay on the way home from visiting Cancun. Was looking forward to our stay but completely disappointed as on arrival we were told the elevator wasn’t working and although booked a twin bedded room was given a double on the third floor! Bathroom towels torn, toilet bowl not flushing or filling properly. Staff not helpful or interested at all. We changed rooms for our second night and found out that the elevator hadn’t been working for over a month! :-( Would not recommend this place at all unless you pay a very cheap rate!

Stayed in south beach for two weeks and booked various nights in different hotels. Have to say that this hotel has the biggest rooms ever. Extremely helpful and personal staff. The hotel is going through a change of ownership and has the potential to be fantastic as it was in the early nineties. From the time we arrived, Claudia, Annabel and Alberto were amazing, so helpful. Although some areas of the hotel need attention which we were told from the time of booking, our experience here with the staff was the best we had on south beach. Old style Art Deco big fabulous sized rooms. On leaving did a cruise we were welcomed back to store our luggage post cruise for a few hours only which was perfect. They didn’t nee to do this, very customer focused indeed. This place is excellent if you want to be a few blocks ( 5 - 10) mins walk from the main strip of ocean drive. Very quiet and nice small breakfast a bonus. The lady at breakfast was just lovely too. The pool area is ok but best to hit the beach, it needs a little work which the hotel are currently acting on but great to sit outside for breakfast. Book this place if you want an excellent location, don’t mind walking 5 mins to beach ( towels provided) and enjoy friendly and very helpful staff. Thank you Claudia, Annabel and Alberto - a really lovely stay !! We will be back. Colin & Darren (UK)

I'm extremely disappointed that I stayed at this hotel. My husband tried to call Priceline to get a refund, but they said it was to late because we checked in. This hotel did not have the basic amenities promised on their website. For example, free parking. Parking is not FREE! You have to do valet parking and its $40. Half of the stuff advertised is false. When I went to my room, we did not have any heat. It was 40 degrees outside and the a.c. was on high. When I called the front desk to have someone come fix it, the rep said the guy who fixes things left for the day. It was like 4pm in the afternoon, and theres no one there to fix anything if something breaks down. Then there was no toilet paper at all in the room. The rep who hardly spoke english gave us another room on another floor. Found out that the elevator did not work, and when I got to the new room that she gave us, I found out that they dont provide cable. So my husband and I had no working t.v.. Basically the hotel does not provide heat, cable, toilet paper, free parking and restaurant. The rep at the front desk told me that I should of brought a laptop, because they at least offer wifi. The only good thing I can say about the hotel is that the mattress is comfortable and the location is good. That's it! This hotel was rated as a 3.5 star hotel, but it's really a 2 star hotel.

Had an absoulutely infuriating stay at this hotel. We got transfered from another SB hotel that had to shut down. We got a room where the airconditon wasn’t cooling. So the room was 80 degrees :( The hotel then told us they had fixed it.. they hadn’t. They told us we’d get a new room, we didn’t get it untill 9pm -After waiting around for hours, not exacly how we wanted to spend our time. Elevator was broken. There was no wifi. When we asked for new batteries for our remote, we were told that they didn’t have any because everything was brand new... that must be with the exeption of the batteries... also the heavily stained carpets all over is worn out hotel. So no T.V either! Pick another hotel!

Booked this hotel for a 2 day stay before our cruise sail date 9/23/18. Received an email 3 days before flying out that the hotel was being closed, and that I would be refunded my deposit in 7-10 business days, still haven't received my refund. I'm beyond pissed!!!!!
