The Miami Beach Edition, nestled close to South Beach, garners praise for its prime location and stunning views, offering guests a taste of Miami's vibrancy. While its diverse amenities, including a spa and beach access, are often celebrated, some guests have noted additional fees and felt the overall value didn't match the high price point. The hotel's cleanliness is generally applauded, though its atmosphere receives mixed reviews, with mentions of both modern elegance and occasional noise. Despite some service inconsistencies, the staff's attentiveness is frequently commended.

We have been staying at various hotels along Miami Beach and decided to stay at the EDITION. We had a wonderful 4 nights and were very pleased with our decision. Upon arrival from the airport the staff were very prompt, helpful, and friendly. With few exceptions most everyone on the staff were happy to greet us and smile with their eyes under those masks. Check in went well except for our room not being ready until after 4. I believe it is likely something to be prepared for with possibly staffing issues and COVID level cleaning of the rooms.
I highly recommend an ocean front room as we thoroughly enjoyed ours. Fortunately I had read other reviews of the property before arriving. Knowing that there are not coffee makers in the room we brought along a mini Nespresso machine which fit perfectly on the mini/bar area (hint hint management). The room was very comfortable and we were content to sit our our balcony and spend time in the room. Shower, toiletries, and all amenities were very nice. I want to thank the management team for allowing even the small items such as notepad, pen, water and wine glasses to remain in the rooms. We have stayed at other luxury hotels during the pandemic where everything is pulled out of the rooms except for the furniture and anything attached to the walls. It certainly affects the guest experience. I also noticed and appreciate the commitment to going plastics free at the property.
I would recommend eating breakfast at the property. The selections are truly exceptional. Do not miss the huevos rancheros. The marketplace is now open (your place to find coffee each morning) as is the outdoor restaurants and Matador. We ate at all of these and enjoyed each of them. Matador was one of our favorite places compared to the off property fine dining restaurants we ate at the other nights.
Finally, I can not complete this review without mentioning one of the best bartenders we have every met, Danny. Not only is he a gem of an individual he made amazing drinks and took time to make sure all his customers were enjoying themselves. Management would be wise to not let him go.
I would gladly stay at the EDITION again any time. One can book a stay here without hesitation.

PROS:
Great location. Close enough to downtown, but located in an area that's not too rowdy.
(Mostly) clean public spaces. Room was very clean, as were all indoor public areas.
Room and public areas were spacious and thoughtfully designed. Very courteous staff.
Spa staff went above and beyond to make my boyfriend and I feel at ease and relaxed.

CONS:
Service: Breakfast service was routinely on the slow side. Nothing glacial, but noticeable for what should be a fairly quick meal. Also, our waiter forgot to bring fruit out with the pancakes. I wouldn't normally mind, but when I'm paying $16 dollars for pancakes, I think it's fair to expect the meal to come with everything that the menu describes.
Pool area service/maintenance: One one occasion there were several plastic cups simply floating in the pool, with no staff in sight to remove them. Further, it was very confusing to me how the towel service was supposed to function. Were the towels self-service? If so, there should be better signage, as during our visit, towels were found in this cubby that appeared that it might be staffed. Lots of poolside chairs were left with used towels for quite some time.
Room service: No ice machines were available to the public (perhaps this is due to the pandemic?). So, I'd have to request ice buckets to be brought up to my room. Usually this was a quick process, but on one occasion, it took a few phone calls and 20-25 mins to be delivered. It was also very frustrating to be told by the front desk that they "think that there is a charge for having champagne flutes delivered to the room." Really? Even when you stock champagne in the mini-bar?
Value: This problem isn't unique to this resort in particular, but is at play throughout almost all of the Miami Beach area. While most everything was great, drinks, food, spa treatments, valet were all quite expensive. Just something to be aware of...

The Miami Beach Edition is my favorite hotel during my Florida road trip at Covid time. The staff are all very helpful and the hotel rooms are gorgeous.
The Miami Beach Edition is one of the newest hotel in the Miami beach area. It has a main building and a Bungalow. This is my third Edition that I stayed at and I am amazed by their fragrance and service every time.
The check-in experience sets a very positive note upfront. A special shoutout to Gigi who sincerely cared about her customer and went beyond expectation to help accommodate customer's requests.
The facilities in this hotel is also great. There are wellness kits in your room to keep you safe. There are multiple air filtering machines at the gym to filter out bacteria and cleaning staff are on standby in the gym.
The overall feeling that I got is that the hotel really cares about their customers. This is the hotel to stay if you are visiting Miami beach!

The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. Very grand immaculate lobby and amenities, the restaurant in the hotel is one of the best in the area. Our only problem was with the staff and management. We were yelled at by a waiter for asking why our sandwiches were taking over an hour(we never got aggressive with him before or after, he was just annoyed by us asking). Since there was a storm while we were there they hadn't set up the beds by the beach and half by the pool, but when it came time to charge us over $200 for a "Resort Fee" we were charged full price since we had access to "Unlimited Water Bottles". Rooms are small and not so well kept, we had to have our safe fixed 3 separate times(after complaining on the third time they gave us a candle as compensation). A lot went wrong and very little was attempted to compensate for it. The hotel is amazing but I wouldn't recommend staying there.

There are much better hotels in Miami. Spend a little more and stay at the 1 Hotel or save some money and stay at the Fontainebleau. Both are bigger properties with nicer, cleaner rooms.

Room: Rooms were not clean, looked dated, and were quite small. We had cobwebs in ours (see picture), the sink didn't drain properly, and the shower always flooded the bathroom. The furniture was worn and scratched. Toiletries did not get replaced and one day my room was not cleaned all day, despite leaving a please service room sign on the door. The website says twice daily housekeeping but that did not happen. Also people were not wearing masks in the lobby and elevator.

Food: While the Matador room and bar are generally good, the pool/beach restaurant Tropicale was not good and just felt like a rip off. A basic salad with 6 shrimp will set you back $35. The beach cocktails were not good. Matador room will also charge you $30 for a drink that tastes like cough syrup (see picture). I felt ripped off because neither the service nor quality of the food was good.

Pool and Beach: The property is pretty but very small. There are 2 pools, but hard to get a chair. The 1 hotel and Fontainebleau are just nicer, larger properties. There are daily exercise classes on the beach which were fantastic.

Service: This was my biggest issue and why it was hard to understand why this was a 5 star hotel. Getting water on the beach and pool was impossible. I felt like every time I asked for a water I got attitude, was told to ask someone else, or someone would say "we have to charge you". The one time someone did give me a water, upon my request, they acted like they were doing me a huge favor and said "Ok, but just the first round of water is on us". The morning I checked out I got stuck in a torrential rainstorm a few miles from the hotel, couldn't find a cab, uber or lyft back to the hotel, and called the hotel for a slightly later checkout. They said they would call me back and did not. When I finally arrived at the hotel drenched 15 minutes before checkout, the guy at the front desk said he could give me 10 extra minutes and then acted like he had gone out of his way to help me.

Having never been to Miami Beach before, I made sure to do lots of research on where to stay. I read mixed reviews about this place but overall The Miami Beach Edition checked all the boxes we were looking for. Starting with the food, it was incredible. Breakfast at The Market was always to die for. The Matador Room was some of the best food we had on our trip. Our room was nice and clean. No issues here and we had new towels and toiletries refilled everyday when we came back from the beach or pool. Speaking of the beach and pool, both were great. If you're at the beach and want food or drinks, you definitely needed to seek someone out. Because of this, I personally preferred the pool (but be warned, it is much more crowded). The last day at the resort we chose the beach purely because we had more space. One thing that really bothered me about the room was the amount of noise you could hear. Every time someone walked down the hall, I heard it. Overall I would stay here again if I was going to south beach and would recommend to a friend. All the staff were incredible, THANK YOU ALL for making our getaway memorable.

Had such a lovely time today beachside at The Edition! Big big thank you to Malik who was happy to assist us with different options as far as chairs vs ocean front daybeds, there isn’t a better spot on the beach than on those big daybeds infront of the ocean view! Malik made sure to check on us periodically to be sure we were enjoying our bed, and talked to us about new local spots to check out. Ricky was eager and attentive to our needs, freshening our towels as needed without us having to look around and find him. Very kind gentleman. Also, thank you to Aaron, our server! He was very friendly & recommended some yummy drinks & snacks! Highly recommend you try the strawberry basil lemonade! The crispy calamari was delish!!

Thank you again to the great beach team that made my day spectacular! I needed A nice day at the beach to treat myself with company & it was everything I hoped for!! Will be back soon :)

The good: The pool, gym, outside grounds, lobby/lounge area, restaurant, and beachside service are all great. The staff was also very friendly.
The bad: The rooms themselves are old, dated, and not that clean - which is embarrassing for a higher end hotel. The Edition tried to remake the super old Seville hotel and it shows. Our bathroom sink was cracked, the showers are dated and floors were dirty. Some things like that are hard to change, so I at least thought the service would make up for it, but it definitely didn’t. Our sheets and towels were consistently shredded - which to me is a sign of poor maintenance. During our 5 night stay we asked for the sheets to be changed and new towels about 3 times and each time they were in tatters. Why would such poor standards be allowed in a supposedly 5 star ranked hotel?

Anyway, we stayed here because prices were somewhat lower during the time we were staying compared to South Beach just a few blocks away. I can’t imagine paying higher prices for these rooms. This location, although close enough to walk to South Beach and other locations still is up and coming and doesn’t have many good dining options. I definitely would not stay here again.

After 8 months of being locked up and down in New York we took our family to Miami for thanksgiving .
This was our first visit to the edition in south beach and we had 3 rooms reserved for our family through Marriott Bonvoy.
Upon arrival they graciously offered us drinks and had our room ready earlier than expected .They made accommodations for our needs and answered our emails regarding anything we needed .
The service here is like one of those 10 star hotels in Morocco where Everyone is friendly and nice and remembers you.
The beach service was A plus ! They have a great staff ! The front desk couldn't do enough for us .
We had a private family meal in our room and they were so accommodating .
The housekeeping staff is impeccable. No one gives you attitude if you need an extra towel or soap.
I reserved my room for Christmas as well .
Cant wait to come back !

I wanted to share my experiences at the Miami Beach at The Edition.
We have been guests at least 8 times in the past 5 years for reasons beyond the gorgeous aesthetics and trendy atmosphere. Funny enough, when we are just visiting our son at the University of Miami and staying in Coral Gables, we make it a point to travel to the hotel for dinner at Matador.
One of these reasons is due to Paul.
Paul, although head of security, has done much more than make us feel safe. Paul has become a friend to myself, husband and both our kids. He has made our stays more comfortable with his presence, conversation and overall hospitality. We love going to the Edition because the hotel is impeccable and our favorite in the country. But, we also love returning to Paul who goes above and beyond his role to make us feel special and happy. It is people like him that make a hotel feel like a home away from home.

We love returning to the Edition again and again for the beautiful atmosphere and trendy vibe. However, the incredibly kind and generous staff enhance our experience year after year. There are several special people I have been lucky enough to meet during my stays. Rosa, in housekeeping, washed my white pants the second I spilled coffee on them & delivered them to my room! Sally in housekeeping serviced our room exquisitely every morning and night! The hostess Jelena at Matador brought us over a champagne bottle to celebrate my husband’s birthday and is extremely attentive and kind. Anthony and Gigi at the front desk are incredibly helpful and always heighten my experience. Paul the security manager goes above and beyond his role. And finally, the Remi & Jakova are gems that always make us feel at home.

The "bungalows" are located in a different building facing one of the pools and, I believe they all have balconies. The room decor is the same and they aren't necessarily larger.
