One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Very clean hotel, friendly staff and its location is perfectly placed in South Beach. Also has a rooftop pool and happy hour for sangria/wine (free of charge) which was also a nice touch. Could honestly not fault it and would highly recommend!

Hotel- Kimpton Anglers South Beach (Miami Beach, FL) Date: August 23, 2022 – August 25, 2022 (2 days) Title: Beautiful lush & green pet-friendly boutique Kimpton property in Miami Beach, FL. Overall: 4/5. Very good. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel. It is very lush and green, with foliage growing on and around the buildings. There are several separate buildings that make up the hotel, some historical, some newer. The property offers a variety of room types, and there is something to suit most preferences. Loyalty Program Recognition- 4/5. Very good, overall. 1. IHG One Rewards: Good. a. Welcome Amenity: Diamond Elite Options- no options were presented at all. Welcome amenity points were assigned to us before we had arrived, even though we did NOT use the digital check in option. When we inquired about the breakfast option for Diamond Elite members, we were given one “Diamond Elite Breakfast for Two” voucher card that matches the new IHG One Rewards T&C. We did not inquire about the Drink/Snack option that should have also been presented for Diamond or Platinum Elite IHG members. The second morning, we learned that we were supposed to get a second breakfast card for our second morning (one per day). The front office manager corrected the billing confusion this eventually created. b. Preferences (non-guaranteed): extra pillows? No. reason for visit acknowledged? No. 2. Kimpton Brand Programs: Very good. a. Raid-the-Bar/Social Password: We asked about this, since it was not mentioned during check in. We were told that RTB is supposed to be offered as one of the IHG Welcome amenity options now, that it is no longer a program that is being administered separated as a brand program. Then, at checkout, we were given $20 RTB credit. So, we aren’t sure what guests should expect. For the social password, we did get 3000 IHG bonus points. b. Inner Circle (brand loyalty program): 4/5. i. IC room key? No. IC recognition? No. Only three staff members we encountered during our two day stay knew anything about this program. ii. Guaranteed one category upgrade? Yes. Our room was upgrade by at least one category prior to our arrival at the property. iii. IC Amenity? Yes. An amenity was left in the room, but it was addressed to someone else. It included wine, some crackers with jam, & a small container of mixed nuts. iv. IC complementary mineral water? No. The hotel charges for water and didn’t want to provide this benefit but did eventually. v. IC guaranteed early 10am check in/late 4pm check out? Sort of. We didn’t request the early check in, but we did request the late check out. We managed to get the late checkout, but again, it wasn’t smooth. The staff tries to negotiate guests out of this ‘guaranteed’ benefit. Accommodations- 5/5. Excellent. We were assigned a “Poolside Bungalow” room type, and overall, we were very happy with the shape, style, décor, and placement of the room. The room offered a great deal of privacy and lots of outdoor space. So separate from the rest of the hotel, out beside the ‘mermaid pool,’ that we had but one immediate neighbor, and them, they had just one more neighbor than us. Our building housed only three bungalows. It was like having a private townhouse condo adjacent to the hotel, and while I liked it and found it very cool, my spouse felt a bit displaced from the remainder of the hotel & guests. While the room itself is beautiful, there are several considerations to make when booking this room type. First, the spiral stairs are not at all recommended for anyone with mobility problems or anyone who doesn’t want to have to traverse stairs to get up to the bedroom or down to the refrigerator at night (for a drink, for instance.) Second, the stairs also will make getting anything but light luggage up to the bedroom very challenging. Third, the staircase also seems to create a challenge for cleaning staff on the private sun deck on the third floor. That private sun deck could be a real selling feature, but it was in no shape to be during our stay. The room had both a first-floor porch area, a second story balcony area off the bedroom, and of course, the third floor private sundeck- lots of outdoor space. Staff- 4/5. Very good, overall. Our experience with the staff at this property varied widely. We were checked into the property by Jose, who was very pleasant, but new and inexperienced. The loyalty program was mysterious to him and property details as presented were lacking; we felt rushed at check in, and we were unable to get our questions about the property answered because of the line forming behind us. The social password went unrecognized initially. Later, we were able to get a lot of our questions answered by Luciana and Madeline, who were both engaging and eager to please. Chris R. also took the time to address some of my spouse’s initial concerns. Genesis, who served beverages upstairs at the pool didn’t come across as very enthusiastic about the property, in general, but Chris, Luciana, & Madeline were able to leave a positive impression that lasted. We will look for them, in particular, next time we come back. Housekeeping- 3/5. OK, overall. All toiletry items, such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper, facial tissue, etc., were provided in a supply adequate for the length of our stay. Most of the first floor of our room was clean in appearance, but, we spent our stay constantly working to keep a steady stream of insects from coming out from underneath the locked door in the downstairs bathroom. Something inside there is a source. The second floor was cleaner, but the third floor was problematic. The housekeeping and/or maintenance crews were either unable or unwilling to spend the time or make the effort necessary to get cleaning items/supplies up the spiral stairs in order to keep the third-floor sundeck area & furnishings free from the birds and their droppings. What could have been a showstopper selling point for the room type was less so. My spouse was super excited to see this area when we were assigned the room type but ended up very disappointed, and honestly, even a bit upset by the housekeeping on that floor. Breakfast/Meal Options-.5/5. Excellent. There are two primary venues for eating at this property, Seawell Fish N Oyster and the Minnow Bar. We ate breakfast at Seawell Fish N Oyster, and we enjoyed the meals. The property continues to work kinks out in the ‘Diamond Elite Complementary Breakfast for Two.” On the first day, we were told that our vouchers were good for ‘up to $20 off per person per day, which left about a $25 bill. The second day, we were told there was no bill, that it covered the whole bill (even though our orders were very similar, only our server changed!). We asked about it at checkout, and both days were changed to ‘complementary’. It made us wonder what happens if you don’t ask… We would have also eaten dinner, but we just weren’t feeling in the mood for seafood, which is the primary fare offered in the evening. The Minnow Bar offers lighter bites for along with drinks. Wings, a burger, and a chicken club sandwich round out the Minnow bar’s light meal options. Overall, the food options we did try were tasty, and we would certainly go back for the food! Property Appearance- 4/5. Very good. No unaddressed, outstanding maintenance items were evident. Exterior- The exterior is lush and green. Lighting is functional. Maintenance/engineering was constantly working on something during our stay, be it the mermaid pool, or the broken furnishings, etc. (The valet area is clean and debris free but should be staffed more regularly. Guests could be seen wandering around looking for valets, ultimately choosing to park themselves in the city meters in front of the hotel and all along nearby streets instead. The valets’ absence is costing the hotel business). The property has a problem with homeless people trying to sleep, et al., along the edges of the foliage, and maintenance, valets, and security need to coordinate efforts to reduce this problem before it becomes a security problem for families with children or other guests. Interior- The hallways are clean, the lighting is all functional. The elevators were all in service at the time of our visit. Computer/Printer/WiFi- 5/5. Excellent. WiFi was strong throughout the hotel and grounds, and streaming of music and video was smooth and uninterrupted. Pool/Gym:4/5. Very good. The rooftop pool was very well kept and clean, as was the mermaid pool on the ground level. There is no fitness center at this property, but an arrangement with Orange Theory fitness a few blocks away has been made for guests seeking a good workout. Beach access can be arranged with a sister Kimpton property not too far away. Laundry- not evaluated. Other- If you prefer the more modern or newer feel to your room or if you wish to be closer to other guests, you should request the main building. The suites, spa villas, villas, & poolside bungalows are more isolated.

I love staying at Kimptons due to the very personal service and amenities. This was my first time staying in South Beach and I was not disappointed! The staff at the Anglers were all very welcoming and accommodating! The room was clean upon arrival and the entire building smelled like a spa. I loved the full bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. My other favorite thing about Kimptons is the forgot you got it, the hotel is stocked with everything! While we missed the morning coffee, the wine hour was even better than usual because they offered Sangria - my personal favorite. We didn’t get a chance to try the restaurants, but the hotel is located in walking distance of a lot of great local food. I loved that there were TWO pools both which had unique locations. The front desk supervisor, Anthony, was a gem upon our checkout! Our trip was too short and I hope we can go back to actually take advantage of all of the amenities Kimpton offters!

I took a chance to stay here for a week for a solo trip and it was a great decision. I wanted a place that was walkable to the beach and restaurants without being near all the hustle and bustle. The hotel itself is gorgeous and aesthetically stunning. The rooftop had a nice setup for sunbathing and swimming. It also played fun music. As a solo traveler, I also took advantage of their in-room spa services. My masseuse was accommodative and created a relaxing experience in my room. The massage catered to what issues I wanted to target. The Seawell restaurant next door also offers a great brunch selection. They also have a great outdoor semi-private seating area if you want to just relax. It’s also right outside of their indoor bar, if you want to have a drink. The best part was the staff. I had a later flight than my checkout and Douviany and her staff allowed me to leave my luggage with them while I shopped around until it was time to head to the airport. Also, if do check out but have a later travel time, you are still able to use the rooftop lounge and bar. I felt safe with the staff always on standby, no matter what the time it was. I’ll be staying here again!

Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Loved the bartender Diandra - such a delight. She made the best drinks and was so upbeat even though she was alone tending bar for over 20 people. A great spirit that really brightened our day after a long day of team activities. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay near the beach and enjoys great service!

When we decided to get married in Miami being former locals we took a brief tour of the property and knew this is where we wanted to have our guests stay. Maribel the sales and events manager was amazing in accommodating our guests and looking to get the best deals possible. We also booked our welcome drink meet in greet there in the lobby which was a success! The front desk staff, lobby bar servers, valet/ doorman held a high lever of service at all times. The close proximity to shops, beach, great Cuban food and the causeway made for a great experience. Some of my favorite qualities of the hotel was the alluring fragrance in the common areas, the various art work, attention to style and detail and the rooftop pool with 360 views of Sobe. This is where we congregated the most. The rooms are clean, spacious and all our guests had balconies with advantageous views. Our friends and family had nothing, but high praise for the property and a big part of the wedding week’s perfection was because of the staff at the Kimpton Anglers Miami Beach. Highly recommended! 5 stars

Service was warm and welcoming. Hotel grounds measured up to the pictures. Very appreciative of the small things like complimentary sangria from 5 to 6. Nice close access to beach, only a short walk. Close to many restaurants and a short drive to others. Room with balcony was enjoyable, especially during late evenings and early morning. Convient valet parking. Would recommend and looking forward to a return trip. Thank you to all the staff.
