Located two blocks west of ocean drive, Angler’s is peaceful from the moment you step into its dark lobby. Great beds and clean room. Some rooms have a large private terrace. The new rooftop saltwater pool is large enough to swim short laps. The staff is full on Kimpton customer service and a pleasure to deal with. The front desk has beach umbrellas and towels. Valet parking is reasonable compared to competitors and there is a municipal parking lot around the corner on 7th St if you prefer to self park. August 2020 restaurant only open on weekends and no daily housekeeping, like most other hotels during this time.

We had the most awesome family stay at this beautiful boutique away from the hustle and bustle of spring breakers, but close enough to walk to shops, beach and restaurants. So glad we found this hidden gem after researching all south beach hotels, definitely the best in every way! We had a late check in after 10 pm, like they said, 24 -7, late check ins were "no worries" when and they were right. Jean Paul was our valet and also took our luggage to the room and very friendly. The front desk person, Anthony, was also very sweet and professional. He was very personable, telling us about the area. The lobby had a fresh French smell that I just wanted to bottle and take home with me! They said a professional service does it, putting it in the vents. They should sell some of the shampoo and handwash, also spa smelling quality that left me smelling and feeling my hair and skin a few times after showering! The villa, 2 story loft, was so beautiful! Housekeeping on request during covid, which was understandable. We left our garbage outside in bags provided and called for pick up. The 2 pools were warmer than the air, the roof top pool being cleaner but windier. The bottom floor pool had more green pieces in it, but it happens when you have beautiful gardens surrounding you everywhere! There was a shortage of towels for a few minutes and the manager apologized profusely, but a few minutes is fine. The staff goes out of the way to help, including Marcia, who tried to find my daughter's glasses and Oscar, maintenance, brang us an abundance of beach towels once they came asking if we needed anything else, like our trash pick up, he was right on it! There were gardeners constantly clipping the grounds, sweeping and beautifying. The hotel was heavenly just soaking it in, even when we are a beach family, we spent more time at the hotel than we usually do. Free wine daily 5 to 6, made it a couple times and was offered 2 glasses just before it closed in the lobby. We took advantage of the complimentary beach bag, umbrella, and several bottles of water throughout the day. Just ask, definetely worth it! The hotel restaurant was nice and never crowded, adding to the atmosphere with soft music, more greenery and lights. As I am writing this, missing the hotel and can't wait to go back!

This hotel has the Lower East Side vibes. Dark colors in the lobby, dimmed lights and chill vibes music playing. When I arrived to check in Simphiwe @ Front Desk was excellent and she gave an amazing room with a balcony!

The complimentary hour was going on during the time of my check in and I definitely enjoyed my Pinot Grigio on my balcony. My room was really spacious and unique decor I haven't seen in other properties before. Also their products smelled so tropical and did not dry out my skin.

Angler has a roof top infinity pool with lovely views of Downtown Miami. I took a late night swim in the pool before my flight and the water was nice ( pool only goes up 4ft due to no lifeguard on duty). I met some fellow NYers by the pool area and I had a lovely time.

This hotel is located on Washington Blvd was is the 3rd busiest strip in South Beach.
Ocean Drive is where you can access to the beach and the Art Deco District. Collins Ave has majority of the hotels and tourist shops leading you to Lincoln Drive for regular shops like -H&M, etc.

I have stayed at Kimpton Hotel properties across the country including those in San Francisco, Chicago, D.C. Boston and Philadelphia. Generally, I find them to be the right mix of hip, clean and functional. The Kimpton Angler's Hotel in South Beach was the least desirable of the various Kimpton properties I have visited.

The location: On a busy street two blocks from the ocean in South Beach. This is not a "people watching" street as the block is filled with low end bodegas. Passing cars are abundant and the construction across the street is loud and conspicuous. This is not the charming, fun section of South Beach.

The rooms: Nice and comfortable. I stayed in the older section which apparently has been recently refurbished. Clean, roomy and fresh. One quirk; in order to access the rooms in this section, you must walk thru the restaurant. Not sure if this is more inconvenient for the hotel guests or those dining in the restaurant.

Service: Generally friendly and helpful. I did ask about the rooftop pool and the front door attendant (day #1 on the job) did not know where it was. Should have guessed the rooftop.

Rooftop: What is a hotel on South Beach without a rooftop pool? The pool is there but it is small. Pool deck is small and there is no water to be viewed in any direction. But it's probably better than no rooftop pool.

Breakfast: Good and good value.

Closing: Nice rooms. Not a great location.

This hotel blew me away. I stayed 2 nights in the bungalow room to celebrate my birthday. The room is absolutely amazing. Let me start by detailing the welcome. As soon as we got there, I went to the front desk to check in as my bf helped take our luggage’s out of the LYFT. We were helped with our bags immediately. The check-in process was quick and smooth. Michael did a great job making me feel welcomed and excited about our stay! Such a nice, clean luxurious looking hotel. Our room had 3 floors. First floor was the living room and a full bathroom. Second floor was the bedroom and another full bathroom and third floor is a rooftop lounge (chilling area) with an outside shower. We barely wanted to leave the room. We ate breakfast at the Seawell restaurant. It was delicious. The hotel and restaurant staff were polite and courteous. Even though we were locals we totally felt like tourists. As far as our checkout experience, wow wow wow. Even though we didn’t have an opportunity to check out their rooftop pool during our stay (bc we were so much enjoying our room which felt like our own building) we were kindly encouraged to check out the rooftop pool before we left. They held our bags and we were able to check it out. Wow! If you stay here, this is definitely a must. Do yourself a favor and check it out! The pool is heated for the cooler days. It looks clean and very well taken care of. For locals, you are able to enjoy the pool amenities for a daily fee of $25 p/p and you can also check out the bar in the hotel or the Seawell restaurant. We will definitely be going back. It was a true pleasure. Congrats to the staff for an outstanding experience. Me and my bf are very grateful. Thank you Kimpton Anglers Hotel!

Booked a weekend Get-Away at the Kimpton Angler's Hotel and nothing disappointed. The location is within walking distance to South Beach, the room was gorgeous with two french door windows overlooking the courtyard pool. What stood out was the staff. Everyone from the restaurant, front desk was exceptionally personal and genuine in what they do. The Rock Star of the bar is clearly Patricia who goes by the name Frenchie (she is obviously from France..) She runs the bar so well that you just want to sit there and have fun!
I can highly recommend the Kimpton Angler's Hotel; we will most certainly come back!!!

My wife and I stayed here for a couples getaway weekend. We had stayed at the Kimpton Surfcomber previously on South Beach and thought we would try this property. I am an IHG Spire Elite so I stay at a lot of properties and might be a bit of a hotel snob so some may take this review with a grain of salt. We were staying on points at 55,000 points per night which is A LOT of points per night. We were initially placed in the new building in a 5th floor room which was supposed to be a west facing sunset view studio. It was facing Washington St and the construction site across the street. I let this slide as a simple mistake and proceeded to take a shower after some rest. I had to crank the shower to get just lukewarm water. After shower I headed to the pool around 4:45 to maybe lounge and grab a drink. The pool was basically shutdown and the “bar” was shuttered. On a Friday... in March... High season.

This is when I finally went downstairs to express my dismay at the stay this far. The young lady at the reception desk had checked us in and was there again to hear my issues. She was extremely helpful and empathized with my concerns. She relocated us to a suite in the original Angler building which was significantly better than our first room.

Now for the restaurant, Seawell: Food was good but not consistent. I had the same breakfast dish two mornings in a row with the first eggs benny being excellent and the second one having a nearly raw poached egg on it. Service was the same inconsistency. First day server was attentive and pleasant. Second day we were told if we wanted coffee we needed to go over to the free coffee station and make it ourselves. Server also showed little care for my raw poached eggs.

I expect at a 4-star property these types of inconsistencies are nearly non-existent particularly at this price point. If this were a 3 star hotel I’d give higher rating but at 4 star level I’d say this property is average.

Stay at the property for the great reception staff and valet. Skip the property for higher level of service, better restaurants, bars and location.

We arrived an hour before check in and since it was Spring Break, did not expect our room to be ready. We sat in the lobby bar and had a snack and drink to pass the time until check in. $18 for 6 small oysters was a rip off but then I paid the bill not realizing for a party of two they included a gratuity/service charge. Of course our server didn’t say anything. We later found out this is standard procedure on South Beach so be aware.

A few minutes after check in time I went to the front desk. Our room was still not ready. When I inquired as to why our room was not ready now that it was after check in, I was offered an upgraded room that was ready. That upgraded room came with a toilet that did not flush properly and neighbors who screamed and hollered until after 2:00 am. The next morning I asked to move rooms. We were put on a list and never heard anything. I also asked for our toilet to be fixed, which it was, for about two flushes. Loved having to go to the lobby to use their bathroom for two days.

The next night our neighbors were loud until 5:00 am. Luckily we were checking out. I would not recommend this hotel if you want to get any sleep. The balcony rooms come with a lot of road noise, the staff was less than spectacular, and there are too many other hotel choices to suffer in this one.

We decided to go down to Miami and stay at the Kimpton Angler's Hotel since it was categorized as a lux option compared to the other Kimpton in the vicinity. HUGE mistake! Everything started wrong! As we were getting out of the car, some kids on bikes sideswiped our vehicle, the valet (awesome guy) apologized and said he will look after the car and he did. Trying to check in was a hot mess, the music blaring, tons of people in the lobby, a plexiglass sheet and everyone in masks. Almost impossible to hear and understand anything, it was a mess. After shouting at each other we were finally given the keys to our room, second floor on the holder side of the hotel, above the seafood restaurant - incredibly overpriced. We finally got to the room and it was ok. Nothing special, moreover everything was barebones. No glasses, no towels, no beach accessories (which you pay a premium for when you checkin). NOTHING. The bed, was labeled as a king, but I sleep in a king at home, that thing was a mix between a queen and a king, oddly sized. The lights to turn on/off everything were in the oddest places. No amenities, just family sized soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Not very posh or lux at all.
In addition, we were told that the restaurant, for dine in, is experiencing lots of lag time and we should eat elsewhere.
To make things worse, the day we are about to leave, I wake up to use the bathroom and the door was closed. I try to open it and it doesn't open. Turns out the hotel engineers are not there and we have to wait until they arrive. a couple hours later, one finally does (bless his heart), turns out the lock was faulty and broke and there was no way to open it. The tech had to remove the whole thing.
Could it have been worse, absolutely! This is not a classy or lux, hotel. We should have stayed further down on South Pointe or gone to the Holiday Inn.
On top of that, I got an email from Kimpton asking for a review on IHG, and when I try to do it, it wont allow me to leave a review. Other hotels sure, the Kimpton nope.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Kimpton Angler's . Staying at the Spa Villa was the perfect choice for a Covid era getaway . My duplex suite came with a private patio and hot tub . Housekeeping and services are contactless and done via a simple text . The entire staff was courteous and helpful , while allowing guests peace and privacy . This hotel will be my new go to in Miami Beach . Anastasiya and the entire staff were top notch .

The Kimpton Angler is not directly on the beach but is a short distance away (maybe 2 blocks) so there aren't sun beds on the beach. The hotel does provide beach towels and umbrellas for guests. Also, individuals can rent beach chairs/lounges for ~$20 a day.
