Rooms are quite big, clean and apparently they have been refurbished recently. The beds are comfortable. However, I would expect more sitting space, especially that the rooms are big enough to accomdoate a sofa or at least another chair. There was only one chair and one stool for 2 people which does not really suit a 4 star hotel. Bathroom was also spacious and clean, towels changed regularly. Swimming pool was lovely and it was very comfortable to be able to use complimentary sunbeds on the beach. The staff was very firendly. However, breakfast was very disappointing. There was little choice and literally nothing healthy to eat, everything packed with sugar, maybe some ham, eggs and provolone, but no vegetables and limited fruit options. Milk was ice cold and juice was too sweet - undrinkable. For people from Europe - you will be totally disappointed as it is nowhere near 4 star standards of breakfast in a European hotel. I would recommend to skip breakfast while booking your room, if possible. It would be much better to eat breakfast somewhere else.…
Stayed here two nights pre-cruise. The room was spacious with a very comfortable clean bed. There is a lovely little pool area with well kept gardens and the staff are very helpful and friendly. However, a few things really put us off staying here again. The reception area was howling with the smell of cheap air freshener. It was so bad that we could barely sit in it and we definitely could not sit at the bar or have breakfast in it. It was so sickly and strong!! The carpets in the hallways were threadbare and badly in need of a good wash, the walls were grubby and neded a fresh coat of paint. It was very noisy at night with police sirens and young people partying until all hours. The air conditioning unit was really noisy and we could not sleep with the racket. We were offered a complimentary cocktail on arrival (and I love cocktails) but this offering was tasteless, flat and just dreadful. There were also ants all over the floor of the bedroom. It’s a real shame because the hotel is not far from the beach where they reserve beds for you along with a nice discount at the cracking diner across the road. Unfortunately the smell put us off and we did not think it was worthy of 4 stars so we won’t be back.…
I almost cancelled my reservation after reading previous reviews of this hotel. I'm glad I didn't . I was pleasantly surprised I even brought a candle to cover the smells people talked about. I didn't end up needing it. Alexandra at the front desk was amazing she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Our room was huge. The couch needed cleaning. I found a dead worm in there. ewww but the front desk sent someone to our room that brought a vacuum to us to help clean couch. We were there for 4 nights the cleaning crew only came to our room 1 time. all the other times we had to call them. They were always very nice and apologized. The problem is not the staff i believe its management. I overheard someone say that they only get 30 mins to clean each room . we were satisfied with our stay because of the staff. we could see that management was not behind their staff. When I asked to speak to the manager Roger he told his staff he was on his way to a meeting and then just walked right past me and didn't even acknowledge me.…
Amazing service at this hotel something went wrong on check in, Also issue with our room but they attend to it really fast and gave us complimentary breakfast for one night and waive off a day of service charge which was amazing I recommend attending here because nothing is perfect and sometimes thing go wrong and they attend to problems and fix them and look after their customers that stay at the resort also has amazing pool and gym and amazing location
We stayed both before and after cruise. The room was fine but there was always something missing no towels, no coffee each day, The resort fee is expensive in my opinion and adds to your holiday. Lounges are available at beach but you have to pay for an umbrella. Pool area was nice but small. After cruise room still not ready after 4pm. Busy reception area but staff are pleasant. Had breakfast once, which was fine. Carpets need replacing in hallways.
Our family reunion was a blast. We had a total of 5 rooms, we requested early check in and rooms were ready at 2:00pm we had all rooms in different buildings which was good because each building has its own charm. I personally liked the Davis building cause it has a games arcade, great for kids! The pool area is great, a bar near the pool would be great. All our rooms were different and different sizes. But all were clean and neat. Hallways need new carpets but theyare still clean. Staff is super friendly. Our maid Diana was super nice. Manager checked our room every day to verify cleanliness... don't remember his name, probably Roberto? GreaT ambiance and nice location
This hotel is in a great location, close to the beach and restaurants. It took over an hour to check-in which was frustrating after a 10hr flight and I didn’t find the room particularly clean. The bedding was fine but floor could have done with a vacuum. Our room was in the same building as reception and seemed quite worn however the other two people in our party were based in another building and their room was quite good.
I have a great vacation time at Washington Park, Front Desk Alexandra was great, she assigned us a great room at the Bel Aire building, room is super clean, our housekeeper was super nice, providing extra towels and extra water. AT night the housekeeper manager Jose was great with information about the hotel and neighbors. I will come back soon and will be back with friends. Keep the good job!
STAY AWAY FRON THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. My wife and I are teachers and routinely stay at mid-range hotels all across the country. We don't expect top notch service, but NEVER have we experienced such poor service and complete incompetence as we experienced at the Washington Park Hotel. When we arrived at 5 PM on our arrival date, we stood in line for nearly 30 minutes before being told that the room wasn't ready. The following days, the wait to speak to someone at the front desk was equally as bad, and the hotel NEVER had any available towels (for the beach/pool or additional towels for our room). Even after we requested towels, it would take hours for them to arrive. Also, when we tried to get drinks from the bar, there would never be anyone working there. Furthermore, twice when we returned to our room, we found that the bed wasn't made. I should probably also note that the floors were quite dirty. After walking around the room for a few minutes, I noticed some long curly black hairs on my socks. They definitely weren't mind. While we're on the subject of the floor, it seemed that the refrigerator hadn't been defrosted in a while, and the melting ice left a puddle on the floor in the closet. It also completely drenched a piece of key lime pie in the fridge we were saving from Joe's Stone Crab. The night manager, who seemed to be a really nice guy, asked us about our experiences one evening, and we told him our thoughts. He apologized and offered us cards for a free breakfast, which we used the next day. After giving the cards to the server and explaining to her that these were for a free breakfast, we were still charged! My wife had to call the hotel three times, and the charge still hasn't been removed!!! When I spoke to other hotel workers about our frustrations, they acknowledged that these were recurring issues and encouraged me to offer feedback to the front desk. I left a hand written note for the owner, and decided I should warn potential guests with a Yelp review. Whoever owns this hotel must be incredibly cheap and short sighted. They must think that buying far fewer towels and hiring fewer employees than necessary might help the bottom line. On the contrary, this will eventually be the demise of the hotel. Don't be cheap. You have a good thing going at a prime spot on South Beach. Pony up the money for a few more towels. Hire more employees (and a full time bartender for God's sake - anyone in restaurant/hotel management knows the insane profit margins on alcohol) and treat your guests and current employees with the respect they deserve. Your staff are good people, but it's obvious they are getting tired of the BS. Or, maybe you should just sell the hotel to somehow who will actually do things the right way before you run it into the ground.…
Great location and atmosphere, staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Matt! The safest hotel in South Beach - Police station is just across the street. We will be back for sure! Dining and ocean - just 2 blocks away.
