I couldn't understand reviews were either love or hate. We recently spent 4 nights here and I understand a little better. This is a 3 star hotel but it gets an extra star for beach access, pool, and bar areas. The rooms are shabby: stained carpet, broken furniture, and missing basic amenities. If you can't overlook those sorts of things, this will not be the hotel for you. The location is good (only one restarant near by, a few about .5 to 1 mile away) but getting to South Beach or Wynnwood involves a pricey cab or Uber ride. The staff were friendly, competent, and helpful. Some of the issues with percieved cleanliness are COVID related so might improve. We booked this hotel because the price for beach access was good. Important to note there is an extra charge for beach umbrellas if you used the lounge chairs on the beach.

Hotel's Favorite
This is my first time staying at this hotel and I’ve had nothing but a great experience. The check-in process was seamless. Keston Superville (Director of Guest Experience) was working the front desk and he was absolutely excellent. He was informative, helpful, always asking how we were doing throughout our stay and if we needed anything, and anything we needed he was there to provide assistance. The room was clean and nicely designed. There is a mini fridge in the room (2 queen bed room) but it really only holds about ~6 bottles. Not really big enough to hold to go boxes of food. And no microwave in the room, but there is one in the snack shop on the main floor. No room service during these times of the COVID-19 pandemic of course but whenever we called down for extra towels, someone would be up within 5 minutes with them. We were even provided more coffee and water for the room. The hotel walks right on to the boardwalk and the beach. If you go to the left of the boardwalk, there is a restroom every half mile up to ~2 miles I believe. The Hilton provides beach chairs (umbrella is an additional charge) and the guy that was at the booth out there (I didn’t catch his name) was very informative as well and super friendly. They also provide lunch service out at the beach starting at 12pm and the food was out within 30 minutes (maybe less) of ordering. The guy taking the orders on 2/4/2021 was so efficient. The pools (one on the lower level and one on the 3rd floor) were heated which felt so good especially since there were some cooler windy days. There is also someone in the front lobby opening the doors for everyone and also assisted us with our luggage. Overall I have nothing but great things to say about this particular Hilton. I will definitely be returning soon. I am especially looking forward to returning when we aren’t in a pandemic and the dining is fully open.

If you're looking for terrific beach access, pool and decent food, this is the place for you. This is where it fails: can't have check-in at 4:00 pm. There should be a changing room so you can change into your suit and just go to the beach or pool and wait comfortably. That would be a bonus. We ended up going to the ladies' room and changing. The rooms in the photos only show you the ones with beach views which THANKFULLY we were upgraded to by the lovely Isadora who really went above and beyond. Our original view had us looking at the parking garage next door. Also, you find out stuff after the fact. Because of COVID, you must ask a day in advance to have housekeeping come to your room for towels and such. Also, the smoke detector was torn out of the wall. Overall, though, they're trying hard. They are overwhelmed and it shows. That said, there was a manager on duty on Friday night as my mother fell ill and paramedics came and he was terrific. The staff at the beach: Ryan, Amy, Sergaud, and all the rest were fantastic. I recommend the fish tacos, BTW. The beach is very clean and so is the pool, but the pool's temperature is downright hot. There is construction in front of the hotel which makes it all messy and it doesn't look like it's going to be fixed any time soon, so it's a bit messy. Would I stay there again, knowing what I know? Maybe. I'm thankful the weather was fantastic and so we were out every day.
