I booked a trip to Miami to celebrate my 39 bday, this is a vacation property management then “hotel”. My room 208 (don’t book) WAS NOT SUITABLE TO SLEEP IN ,I noticed a huge WI-FI ROUTER NEAR THE BED! In 2023 we aware of staying away from strong radiation CAUSING CANCER TUMOURS . The front desk approved and promised to hôtels.com agent and to me that my room will be changed in the morning . I packed my bags and had to stay on the sofa away from the router, barely had sleep and in the morning the girl from the front desk refused to speak with me about it AS SHE IS NOW WORKING AT THE BREAKFAST LOUNGE. And left me to start again explaining to a new guy at his 2nd day at the front desk who didn’t no what to do. BOTTOM LINE THE MANAGER/OWNER DID NOT OFFER ANY SOLUTIONS , refused even to refund and agents called few times- 3 days in a raw! asking him to approve at least some refund and again said NO and no one took responsibility about the fact that I HAD TO SLEEP ON THE SOFA, that is the most awful vacation I ever had and been humiliated. Regardless of the above there were more issues- the room ac was noisy like bus engine (I turned it off) , the windows facing the building next to the property and very close so no light inside all you see is a wall. But the most and only thing that was horrible is the POOR HUMAN DIGNITY of the owners not to take responsibility especially after I was told my room will be changed and even when shared my friend had cancer.…
We have travelled for decades mostly to nice, boutique hotels. Blanc Kara was a major disappointment as the room we were assigned was not ready, should have been taken out of service, but was not. Poor maintenance or just incompetence, this small hotel in a nice location, is clearly, in our opinion, not near ready for Prime Time.
We needed a room for the afternoon after a cruise, their website would not let me cancel minutes after it was finally confirmed tried to cancel after the app didn’t work it wouldn’t accept my payment…. tried several times then it finally worked when I was looking at other places couldn’t get any response Charges a resort fee for nothing! No pool no place to sit even our tv did work in our room very disappointed don’t bother
Scam. Deceit. Unprofessional. (This is a late review of our stay here back in the summer of 2022. Never forgot about this horrible experience.) We booked two weeks in advance but when we got there, we were RELOCATED to a different hotel nearby without ANY prior notice! Imagine getting off the plane, arriving at your hotel with your booking reservation, only to be told that your room is two blocks away in a dingy 2-star hotel. They didn't give us refund or any compensation, not even a simple apology, nothing. So we basically paid full price and were relocated to a random hotel down the block. The front desk lady with a heavy French accent was incredibly rude and hard to talk to, she would jeer at our comments and would not maintain eye contact. She lied to us about how it's same hotel, just a different location because the rooms are all fully booked. (how can it be fully booked when we reserved a room 2 weeks prior and received a confirmation??). She kept calling her manager, but couldn't solve any problems. I talked to the manager (Raphael?) on the phone, expressed my dissatisfaction, but his attitude was basically "take it or leave it". We went to the hotel they pointed us to, and it's a completely different establishment. It turns out they used Booking.com to reserve a separate hotel room, and expects us to spend the night there. Not trying to knock the other hotel establishment, but it's considerably lower quality. NOT what we booked. This went on for over 2 hours, and they finally offered a room at Blanc Kara. When we got to the room, the window were all taped shut, the smell was horrible, hard to breathe, seemed like it's still under construction. We couldn't imagine spending a night in a room that's still renovating, with no windows and bad air ventilation. So we had no choice but to stay at the hotel they booked for us without our consent. Needless to say, unless they switched owners or management, please stay away this establishment, save your time and sanity, trust me.…
The good: Location is excellent, in a quieter area but easy walking distance to everywhere you'd want to be at South Beach. The rooms are big, the beds are extremely comfortable and the staff are pleasant. Contrary to other reviews we found the breakfast perfectly acceptable - although the room it's served in is small it's nicely decorated, even instagram worthy! The bad: The public area/hallway on floor 2 stinks of damp. The air con in each room is extremely noisy and only has two modes - "on" (extremely noisy the whole time), and "auto" (quiet until the room warms past the threshold when it will immediately burst into extremely noisy mode and guarantee to disturb your sleep 100% of the time). We stayed here twice and this was the main issue in both rooms. The most significant problem however, was that it took their payment provider the full 31 days for our room deposits to be released/returned which is simply unacceptable. The staff did their best to chase the payment provider up but it didn't achieve anything.…
We chose this hotel because it was away from all the noise and wanted to make sure we get our sleep in during vacation. Also because we wnated a microwave. However, everything went to hell. Perhaps the hotel put us in an unfavorable room because we booked through a third party. We will never return here. Cons • Uncomfortable small pillows. First time ever experiencing horrible hotel pillows. • No lock in bathroom so no privacy. • There is a piece of glass that separates the shower from the toilet but not even a curtain is up so all the water goes onto the floor of the whole bathroom. • The door from terrace from the room was locked due to renovation. No one from the hotel doesn't let you know before or after booking. You are just left with the surprise when you get to the room. Smh. • They were drilling and jackhammering the terrace from 8am the next morning. Welcome to hell. The next day, they continued working in there and you hear all the noise. What is sleep? • You can't open the blinds because the contract workers were right by your window so you would be forced to leave them closed for the entire stay. Welcome to a gloomy room. • The free breakfast was from 830 to 1030. It was cold boiled eggs, Activa yogurt, deli cuts of meat and cheese, and carbs like croissants. They can't serve hot food apparently. Why not just have that available all day then? Guests should be allowed to take it upstairs atleast until 10pm to heat up the food and eat it however they want. Atleast the croissants. It seems like they server the same batch the next day and the day after until its gone. The tea room is a waste. • The main door automatically locks at 10pm but there is no sign anywhere that says that. You have to use your card to get in. • The place is 3 floors and the elevator is so slow. • Carpeting on the hallways are awful and smells wet and moldy. • The decor is untastful with black walls and weird carpet floors in the hallways. The rooms have black floors. There is a gloomy feeling throughout. Pro • 24 hours front desk who always answers the phone. • The workers in the breakfast area are extremely kind. • House keeping workers are kind and do a good job cleaning. • The whole hotel is clean overall. No pests or insects in sight.…
I usually stay at Blanc Kara when I come to Miami Beach. The hotel is stylish and has a great location..south of fifth street and a block away from the beach. There are many restaurants within walking distance. The staff is very friendly. It’s great to have a kitchen as well as the bedroom. Large walk-in shower. There are a couple of amenities that are listed on TripAdvisor that are not accurate however. There are no longer bathrobes in the rooms. In addition, because of the pandemic, there is really a minimal “breakfast “—-just a box with nothing in it that’s healthy/good (in mine, Frosted Flakes, Sunny D and high sugar yoghurt!!!) I’ve been assured that the Bistro breakfast will return…someday (?)…
Really great hotel for a stay in South Beach Florida. I would like to recommend this hotel for a stay in South Beach. Check in was excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They let us check in at noon when they found a room that was ready. Very clean hotel. Valet parking $32 but very quick and efficient. The location of this hotel is good as it is only one bock from the beach. A terrific restaurant is next door. We will definitely stay here again. They also have a small restaurant and you can get a drink here as well.
I liked this hotel because of the staff. The reception staff was very service-minded. The housekeeper was very nice and she did her job very well. I liked the guests could give some tip for housekeeping to put the money in a little envelope. Our room had terrace and this one made our stay very pleasent. Sun beds and the table were very nice. The hotel are close to the beach ( the guests can borrow beach towels from the reception) and just one block to Ocean Drive but still quiet area and no so much noise from party people. The hotel is only adult hotel.
The location was amazing and close to the beach. The staff was friendly and able to answer any questions that I had. The rooms were very spacious. No issues with the WiFi during my 3-day stay. Sleep quality was horrible. Sound isolation barely existent. I was on the first floor and was able to hear cars passing by. There is also a swanky club just across the street and you could hear the music / bass blasting till early in the morning. I was also able to hear people crossing my door. Breakfast was far below expectation. You basically get a brown paper bag with snacks that you can get at a gas station.
