The Gale South Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton, receives accolades for its spotless rooms and commendable service, although a few guests have encountered less-than-stellar interactions. While the hotel boasts a vibrant atmosphere and art-deco charm, complete with a buzzing nightclub and thoughtful perks like free champagne, some visitors find the rooms on the smaller side and grapple with noise disruptions.
Its prime beach location and amenities, including a rooftop pool, are highlights for guests, though the value proposition is sometimes questioned due to high costs and additional fees.

Hotel's Favorite
I stayed at this located from 6/14 through 6/21 I had the absolute wonderful time. The property is maintained immaculately and it is one block away from Lincoln Road. Everyone who works there from the maintenance to the front desk was professional kind and courteous.
The restaurant inside the hotel called DOLCE was excellent and exceptional. The food was fantastic! They serve breakfast lunch and dinner.
The hotel even has a lounge in the lower section of the hotel for music (I believe live) with access to further libations once the bar restaurant closes. The roof top pool is maintained well with water towels and umbrellas. All staff at both the hotel and the restaurant work cohesively it is a true well running.
I look forward to my next stay at this location. It is centrally located with one block away from the beach. Although this hotel is not beach front they share beach access with the Shelborne Hotel one block away. You merely tell the beach attendant you stay at the Hilton Curio and they offer you two beach chairs complimentary accompanied with towels. If you would like an umbrella that is fee of $25. I would suggest paying cash for the umbrella to avoid additional fees added to your hotel bill.
I look forward to going back and staying again in the near future!

Good location, nice lobby, nice restaurant and that's about all. The room was in need of touch up with paint, especially near the base boards . The curtain tracking was broken making it hard to close the curtains. The rug was frayed and stained in places. The outside cushions were dirty upon arrival with what looked like dried up sunscreen on the dark blue cushions making it uninviting to sit upon. In room TV had a long lag-time making it frustrating to use. No chairs in the room to sit upon. AC not cold in the room, was actually colder in the hall. Awkward entry into the hotel, restaurant entrance requires steps with luggage through a restaurant cue.
I am the highest level of Hilton Honors Member (Diamond), not only did I feel that my loyalty to the Hilton brand was unimportant or appreciated, I was made to feel as it were a bother when I had asked for a 2PM checkout, that wasn't honored (which is a benefit of being a Diamond member when "available"). Checking the hotel website, they were not at full capacity that day and did not understand why this request could not be accommodated.
The attention to details are missing at this hotel, and this is coming from someone who spends many nights in hotels and travels the world. Hotel status should be honored. A Housekeeping request was denied, and was told that dinner reservations were not made correctly. Outside seating was requested for dinner, and upon checkin for dinner, was told that there were no seats available outside, and then was seated outside. At breakfast "bottomless mimosas" were offered, however after 20 min sitting with empty glasses, I had to bring the glasses to the server station myself to ask for them to be filled.
All in all the hotel is Average. When you call yourself "Curio" a rare, unusual, or intriguing object... you should stand out above the rest and this hotel did not. It missed attention to detail, and my loyalty status meant nothing. The little things make the biggest difference.
I would like to say that Alexsandra was extremely kind, helpful, and stood out from the rest. I feel that she would be a better fit across the street at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Thank you, Matthew B, for giving your time to provide us with such a comprehensive review of your visit. Your acknowledgement of our ideal location in the center of South Beach, our beautiful art-deco designed lobby and of Dolce ITALIAN, our absolutely delightful Italian restaurant, is wonderful to hear and some of the same aspects we love the best, too. We take all feedback from our loyal members to heart as we continuously improve on the guest experience. And, as a Diamond member, we know your observations should be taken only as straightforward constructive criticism, solely to help us be the best hotel possible, and show you as a considerate guest. For this, I extend my personal thanks and will work hard to fix the things you did not like. I couldn't be happier to hear of your appreciation of the service you received from Alexandra! She is a valued associate of Gale South Beach and a shining demonstration of the warmth and welcome we intend all our guests to experience. Your compliments will be shared with the entire team. We hope to welcome you again to our unique boutique hotel. Please feel free to reach out to me directly to help with arrangements for a future stay. It will be my pleasure to make sure you have the experience you deserve.

We are currently staying here as it was recommended by our travel agent, to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and they advised they would add to our booking we were celebrating!
The hotel we stayed at the other day before coming to Miami, knowing of our big anniversary made us feel very special but I don’t think this hotel caters for special occasions!
The location is excellent- near to everything we need and whilst the room is small, no chair to sit on and not a lot of wardrobe space, it’s fine for a short stay in a typical boutique hotel.
The amenities are good, nice bathrobes, toiletries and comfortable bed.
The rooftop pool area is well laid out and plenty of towels & iced water.
The staff are friendly and helpful.

I travel often and many times wheelchair accessibility is checked for a hotel but not true in reality. Most places meet enough criteria to check the box to comply with ADA laws but in reality the accessible rooms are poorly designed and often just outright inaccessible even when they claim to be accessible. Every major brand out there is guilty of this at one location or another.
Gale South Beach was delightfully accessible in all areas that actually matter like bed height (not so high off the ground you need a trampoline to get there), roll-in shower, chair height commode with required handrails, digital keys to make unlocking doors/elevator easy & ramp access that is a easy transition going up and down and not insanely steep just to say there is a ramp like many other places I have stayed. All staff members I had contact with were friendly and super helpful with great recommendations of local restaurants. Overall great place to stay if you are traveling in a wheelchair or with someone that is.
The area in general is flat and easy to navigate in a wheelchair. Anything you need as far as the beach, food and entertainment is close enough you really shouldn't need a car to get there.

My husband and I went to Miami for 2 days before we headed back to VA and I so love this place! We got the 1 Double Signature for a night (which I would say is perfect, but if you want more room or staying for more than a night I’d suggest you get the Queen Signature)
Wasn’t able to take pics of the room we stayed in, but what photos you see on their website is what it really looks like in person. The place is very clean and neat. Lovin’ the classic/modern south beach chic italian vibe here!
I would also recommend to try out Dolce Italian restaurant that’s just in their lobby.
I would DEFINITELY come back here next time we’re in Miami ❤️
— some photos I have here is their lobby, bar & outside the hotel.

Excellent Miami Beach location. Close enough to all of the fun on Ocean drive but a little further up Collins that it keeps you out of the gridlock of the busiest part of South Beach. I was there for the Super Bowl and the hotel did an excellent job of accommodating requests.
The rooms have updated decor with a real Miami feel but they are a bit smaller than what I am used to. I had a corner terrace room that provided a large outdoor space to compensate. The bathroom area is open to the rest of the room which would have been awkward if I needed privacy from someone I was sharing a room with. The shower was great with a nice adjustable shower head and an additional rain style shower head on the ceiling.
The staff was did a great job of resolving the issues I had during my stay. Particularly the morning/day staff. Dewanna was great.

Stayed in a grand king terrace room. Terrace is worth the splurge although the cushions could use a cleaning. Great views of Collins Ave and the ocean in the distance. The room itself has a very small place to put your things (not really a closet) and only space for 1 person to put their things. There is a beverage cooler but it is not a refrigerator for food. 1 chair in room with small table so 1 person has to sit on bed if you are hanging out in the room and not on the terrace. Bed was against a wall so no night table on 1 side and person on that side had to crawl into the bed. Bathroom was fine. Rain shower and handheld shower. The terrace made the stay more enjoyable except for the day it poured rain. The roof top pool area was lovely.
We stayed 5 nights and did not have housekeeping every day. We had to schedule 2 cleanings upon check in. Even when requested (with the light on) we did not get fresh towels or water and had to ask at the desk. When asked, they were more than willing to accomodate the request.
Most of the staff was friendly and helpful.
Having a restaurant on site was great, especially on the day it poured rain and we did not feel like going out.
Overall the hotel is in a great location. It is an Art Deco hotel so we understand that the rooms will be small. Also the historic pictures add a nice touch and a lot of interest.

My family of 5 stayed in two rooms at the hotel. My kids were in the two Queen room and my husband and I were in the grand terrace room. The hotel is so beautiful. It has a swanky, 20’s decor. It had hard wood floors and glass fixtures. It also had pictures of 50’s and 60’s people swimming in black and whites throughout the lobby area and in the rooms. The front desk people were very friendly. One of the ladies, Alekesandra was so helpful and even said hi to me by name each day. It’s a smaller hotel and I really liked that. Even though there was covid, there were no waits for elevators.
The 2 Queen room is smaller but serves the purpose. The grand terrace room overlooked Collins drive and it was so beautiful to sit outside and get the all day sun. I would highly recommend it for a couple. It also was great for my kids to come to our room and sit outside together.
If you like marble, you would love the bathrooms...all marble showers with a rain shower and marble sinks. Really high end.
The pool area was very beautiful and the hotel terrace area on the fourth floor was big and great to sit with a computer and do some business. The wifi worked well in the hotel.
The hotel is not directly on the beach but had beach access through the Shelbourne Hotel across the street and it was really easy to do.
For dinner we went to the Ocean Blvd area and it was fun to sit outside at one of the many cafes and people watch and enjoy the weather.
I hope this helps and I would highly recommend the hotel!!

I give this location an average rating, solely because our entire stay was paid with Hilton Honors points for 4 days, 3 nights. I would NOT pay their rates to stay here. Customer service is bad, poorly trained. You can forget about early check-in. 4pm seems to be a strict rule. Don't stay on the first floor between Wed-Sunday nights if you are a light sleeper. There is a club in the basement that plays live music or DJ specifically on those days. Free breakfast was good though, and their patio ambiance is nice. The Italian restaurant is definitely worth trying. Rooftop pool is too warm, but it was fine to lay out and it wasn't too crowded. Overall, average hotel, NOT worth paying over $300 though. If you're a Hilton Honors member with points, it's probably the best location to spend it here as it's walking distance to just about everything on South Beach.

I am a Hilton honors member & Planned this solo getaway to Miami Beach for much needed R&R and🌞. The Gale South Beach Hotel was the perfect location offering an excellent location and every amenity needed to make this stay just fantastic. I was warmly welcomed by Aleksandra at front desk who graciously accommodated my room requests and made sure I was pleased. She also offered great suggestions for restaurants & places to visit & set up my first bicycle rental to make it happen. A special shout out to Ruben who was accommodating with bicycle rentals and restaurant suggestions. Enjoyed sunshine & relaxation at the rooftop pool. Next time I visit Miami Beach, the Gale South Beach Hotel will be my go to ! 😎🌞 thank you all !
