The Palms Hotel & Spa earns praise for its cleanliness, with guests appreciating the tidy rooms, beach, and public areas, although some have noted noise from housekeeping. While the hotel's beachfront location is a hit for its tranquility and convenience, opinions on room comfort are mixed, citing varying levels of satisfaction with size and noise. The spa and pool amenities are a highlight, yet extra charges are a concern for some.
Exceptional service is frequently mentioned, though it's not without occasional lapses. The hotel's ambiance is celebrated for its elegant and relaxing vibe.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed 4 nights and overall found the hotel to be just what we were looking for to relax. The stay didn't start off so well, we checked in on the first day in the evening and had to report issues with the toilet flush on 2 occasions that same evening. The following morning we had the same issue even though I was told it was fixed twice. This time the Manager took control of the situation and arranged for us to move room, for the inconvenience she wavered the resort fee for all 4 nights and gave us a free cabana at the pool for the day (I think her name was Maria). The pool is nice and quiet and provides food/drink service to your loungers. There is also access to the private beach area where loungers are included with a bar area too.
There are a few local shops and restaurant, we found a great place for breakfast called Crema which we used everyday.
There isn't a huge amount to do for children so I would recommed this hotel more for adults with it also having spa facilities.

Stayed at the Palms for a quick family getaway. I stayed in the superior ocean front room #528. The room was very spacious, a toilet and sink are on one side of the room while a shower and sink are on the other. The ocean view was obstructed by a tall palm tree, so I would suggest a higher floor or maybe room 522 or 622 for a clear ocean view. The brunch is good it cost fifty dollars with tax and 18 percent gratuity. The 18 percent service fee is applied to all services and food and drinks you may purchase, which is common in South beach. The pools and beach are clean and nicely kept, we spent a lot of time mainly on the beach, love those breezes.

This is a beautiful hotel, well maintained with great amenities. The pool area is beautiful and the food and drinks service on the beach is exemplary. The chaise loungers on the beach are nicely spread apart so that you do not feel that someone is intruding on your space.

We love The Palms. This is our 12th visit to The Palms and it has not disappointed. The rooms are fresh, clean and updated. We noticed over the years they continuously paint, update furniture and make changes to the rooms and lobby and restaurants keep everything stylish and fresh. The grounds are lush and feel so tropical. The food is pricey but tasty and high quality. For the most part the people working in the hotel are so kind and welcoming. At the beach you get chairs and umbrellas and can order drinks and food if you wish.
The Director, Maria and front desk staff however are not as good as the rest of the resort. On the last day of our stay of we were enjoying sunning around the pool. I noticed a strong smell of bleach but didn’t think much of it. When I went to get up and put my cover up on I noticed the colour of my cover up had been bleached where it touched the ground while hanging on the back of my chair. I picked up my book which had been sitting on the ground and it was also bleached and discoloured. When I brought it to the attention of the desk staff their first reaction was “we don’t use bleach sooo”… I’m not sure exactly what they were insinuating with that comment but it definitely wasn’t helpful. I asked for compensation for my cover up and they would only give me half of the value because I didn’t have a receipt! Who keeps their clothing receipts or brings them on vacation!?!?
Shockingly they didn’t even care to come see where the bleach was and no one came to clean it up.
This wasn’t the best end to an otherwise lovely stay.
I believe this stunning hotel could improve the customer service and friendliness of the desk staff. Specifically Maria could have done more and been more helpful to loyal, long time guests. Very disappointed ☹️

I would NOT recommend this hotel.
We typically go to nice places and hotels for a short winter break, and have had generally good and excellent experiences, this was not one of them.
Property was nice and location is excellent, but otherwise downhill from there.
While most of the staff were friendly, they were unprofessional. It seems that management has no program for onboarding new hires or ongoing staff evaluations with respect to service, etiquette, or guest relations.
Rooms were clean, but dated. Bathroom very small.
Daily room cleaning/service was virtually non existent. We turned on the "service" button in the morning at 10am and returned at 5pm to an unserviced room. When I called housekeeping, they informed me that they "only have 2 room servicers per floor and they would get to it when they could." She went on to ask if we "still wanted" our room serviced! My adult children had another room and that went unserviced for 48 hours despite 3 requests.
While rooms were appropriately priced for location, class of hotel, and time of year, everything else was ridiculously priced. 6$/bottle of water in the room; $9/12oz can of beer, 18$/bowl of morning oatmeal! Seriously!!?? I certainly understand resort pricing and the hotel wanting to make money, but I found the price gouging ridiculous. After charging almost $600/room/night and hundreds of dollars on breakfast and lunch, they can't provide complimentary water in the room? Come on! It's not about the extra dollars, but it's about the point.
In the end, we never were made to feel welcome or appreciated. We will not be going back to this property.

The hotel is in a nice location and very beautiful property. For that will give 4 stars. But if you are just 2 people ,then it is good as most of rooms have a king bed option or 2 double beds. The double beds are advertised sleep 4 but no 4 adult can fit on those high beds and will fall off. Very horrible. For price they charge they offer double beds. Otherwise king bed and futon mattress. So for that ridiculous price I will give them 0 stars. In addition they have the tiniest weird single tony washroom and you can just stand in without hitting door. Even a 1 star hotel has a bigger bathroom. So 0 stars. If you are a couple travelling the. This is for you ,for a family there are dozens of hotels on collies avenue which offer queen beds, microwave, refrigerator, good size bathrooms and even a balcony view of city or ocean. They have no such features in Palms except priciest one floor which gas balcony. So as a family stay away ,you will be charged like hell and their Essenua restaurant charges fir a normal lunch or dinner 200$ for food to pay. Better restaurants nearby.

Our experience at this hotel was horrible. They have a serious sewage problem
When you walk into the room there is a strong sewage odor. We were able to switch rooms and the second one had an even worse smell. We called the front desk and she sent housekeeping up to spray air freshener and leave. There was a roach in the spa restroom and every meal we have gotten here has been cold. In addition I forgot an outfit in the first room we moved from and after housekeeping cleaned that room, the outfit disappeared. The staff had zero empathy and basically said oh well. To top it all off, only one elevator works in this big hotel so it takes forever to get to and from your room. We will never stay here again! The only good experience was the stress massage I received in the spa. Julio was amazing.

The Palms is a well thought out facility. Layout to the restaurants, bar areas are not disturbed by pool and beach goers by the very convenient lower lobby containing the Spa, gym and access to and from the pool and beach. Also convenient rest rooms from the pool and beach in lower lobby.
Love the layout and service all around.

I looked at different hotels in Miami Beach area for a 4 day stay with family. If you are looking for a family resort on the beach, but away from the party scene on Ocean Drive, then I would recommend the Palms and Spa. I looked at others, like the Royal Palms, the Confidante, but settled on the Palms based on the pictures and reviews.
It is a smaller hotel in Mid Beach, but not far from where South Beach starts. The rooms are clean, the lobby gives you a relaxed island vibe. The landscape and pool area is relaxing and inviting. It is a really cool, smaller place between the more expensive Edition hotel and Faena hotel. So the location is great, you can walk, bike (CitiBike is available), or take a quick Uber ride to the Ocean Drive or Lincoln Rd area.
The bathroom maybe small, but it is elegant with a rain shower and handheld shower. There is a separate toilet and sink area, like a tiny powder room, which makes it convenient for two people. The beds are comfortable and just everything about the hotel is very nicely kept. We didn't see any damage or anything run down. Really great for the value and the location. You get the towel, beach umbrella and lounge chair service as well. There's a resort fee, but all hotels charge a resort fee. I think if you book early enough, you can get a good deal. My family really enjoyed the stay.

We stayed for four days for a quick getaway. The hotel was perfect! I am very picky about cleanliness in a hotel, and every area of the hotel was sparkling. Often I notice dirty areas in the dark corners of hotel rooms, or behind the bathroom door, etc... but every inch of our room was spotless. The common areas and grounds were comfortable and beautiful, and every staff person we encountered was so helpful and friendly! We would definitely stay here again. The only negative I have is the handwashing sink in the toilet room. (The bathroom is two seperate rooms-- a "WC" with a toilet, and a seperate room with sink and shower.) The sink is built in to the toilet tank and turns on when you flush. I was not a fan of having to lean over a toilet to wash my hands in a tiny sink, inevitably getting water everywhere. The whole situation felt unsanitary. We ended up just going into the shower room to wash our hands, which defeats the water conservation efforts of the toilet sink. But this was a very minor thing. This is a fantastic hotel!

Immaculate pool. Warm but I don’t believe heated
Don’t know. But smoking is pretty annoying to those sitting near you or down wind from you. So, please do not smoke on the beach. Thank you.
You have easy walking access to the beach from the pool area. Out the hotel's front door you are on Collins Avenue at 31st Street with a number of restaurants and bars in the area, but not quite as picturesque a locale as South Beach and not as many high action options. But you can walk (or rent a city bicycle) and proceed south on the boardwalk by the beach and be at South Beach in no time!
