My partner and I booked a package holiday, flight hotel and cruise. We get to the hotel in the evening from London, hoping to go to bed as we were so exhausted. We had a lovely room with a stunning view, only to hear the music coming through our walls with them not considering the guests who may of had a very long day. In the end we moved rooms, only realising that the bed we slept in had dried blood on it!! It was absolutely disgusting and once we told the staff they said ‘our housekeepers have gone home and we would have to investigate it’ with us also showing them a picture of it they immediately shut us down and they did absolutely nothing about it! In the end we slept with just a sheet on the bed. The customer service was terrible and we are so glad to have gotten out of there quickly! Never again!!

First, I want to say that my experience in this hotel was mind blowing, not because of the place, but because of the staff. There are the nicest people I ever met in my life specially Ryder. It was a little late for check in we were tired and upset because of a problem my family had with the flight. This gentleman welcomed me and my family in the kindest way possible. He understood how tired we were and he helped us with the luggage as soon as we got out of the car until the room. The way he made me feel is the best feeling in the world. I felt like I was home and not in a hotel. Housekeeping also made a great service cleaning my room. I will definitely come back to casa faena because in this place they have the best services you could possibly receive. Im very Happy. Tania

From the moment we arrived until the second we pulled away we had a great experience! Shout out to Linette (spelling) she was a fantastic host. Explained the history of the hotel, and was very welcoming. The room was clean (minus a moldy shower curtain which they promptly replaced). Full stocked bar and mini bar! Beds were super comfy! We had breakfast downstairs and enjoyed the food and server who was so friendly and pleasant. The hotel is very charming and has great nooks to discover. Right across from the beach and in a great location! $8 Uber ride to south beach. Would stay again.

We arrived early and left our luggage, lady at the reception informed us that the room may be ready earlier than 3 pm (check in time) and that the room will be with with a nice view, overlooking the other side of the road and a path to the beach. When we got back our room wasn’t ready and it was not ready on time so we had to wait util 3.25 pm to check in. We’ve got the room facing absolutely other direction and apparently that was a different room. It took the hotel staff 24 hours (!) and 3 requests from me to fix the lightbulb in the bathroom. There is no window and no other source of light in that bathroom, so when the light is not working there is a complete darkness. On the third attempt I’ve just asked to give me the bulb to change it myself if they can’t do it. Only after that it was fixed. The minibar wasn't restocked and the safe in the room wasn't working (no batteries in the door of the safe). All the sockets were loose and the plugs were falling out of them. But the thing which got me the most was that when my husband and I returned in the evening to the room, it was fool of smoke and smell of the frying oil as well as some other intense kitchen smells. It was not just some kind of smell from the kitchen but you actually could see the smoke in the room. I went to the reception and informed the lady. She wasn’t surprised. I’ve told the lady that we are coming back in 2 or 3 hours but when we got back the lady told me that they can’t do anything about it, since these are not the working our of the repairman and that they want us to move to another room. I wasn’t planning to move anywhere, next day was my checkout and I had 4 hours in the morning to do all the packing. However instead of relaxing in the room after the dinner as we were planning to do we had to pack all the things in the bad smelling smoky room. Our room was #35 on the third floor. I wanted to speak with the manager on the other day and I’ve informed the lady at the reception about that. Manager never contacted me. I don’t know if manager exists in this disastrous hotel where no-one is responsible for anything. On the next day I was in the hotel until 3 p.m and the manager didn’t want to communicate with me, I didn’t see her or him in spite of the fact that I’ve asked to speak with the manager at 10 a.m. I was told that I can send manager an email describing my situation. I’m not planning to do that since I don’t see any point and for sure I’m never going back to this hotel. This was my worst hotel experience for the last five years.

After a week of meetings I booked a Friday- Sunday stay. Firstly, the staff is great and Courteous. The new restaurant was very busy and good food. William especially went above and beyond to attend to my every need. What I needed was rest and a pleasant experience. What I got was a large room with a bed as hard as concrete and the most basic decor and amenities. Soap bars barely bigger than a breath mint. 2 nespresso pods. The floor was soap residue and the bathtub was a slippery death trap. The real trouble is the roof top bar. I actually went up at 11:05am the first night to get a night cap. Quite certain is was over the fire code capacity. I was told the bar was closed but give it a try. The party did not end until after 1am. Same the next night. In the hallways each morning were busy maids but not quiet. They banged the carts and the hallway and my room was reverberating with chattering from them and their equipment. The manager waived my resort credit but I got no apology which would have gone further than the $28 savings. The next day I did get an email thanking me for my visit and a please come again. That will never happen. Don’t let my review hinder your views of the other Faena property brands. I think this property is either a write off or a failed experiment. Sorry for my brutal honesty but it’s all true and my followers expect that truth.
