Worth the stay in a room with ocean view and balcony. Good price for the location and view; walking distance to Ocean Drive. Comfortable rooms. Easy and safe checkin and checkout procedures. Valet parking is too expensive ($50). Easy access to the beach.
My husband and I loved our long weekend stay at the Ritz S.B. The renovated hotel is spotless, beautifully decorated and rooms have every amenity needed. The beach and pool attendants were wonderful, although it seemed they could use more staff on the beach (maybe caught by surprise by great weather after many days of rain?). We would've ordered more drinks if they came by more often! The menus at the beach/pool and in the one restaurant, Fuego Y Mar were almost exactly the same for breakfast/lunch so that could get a bit dull if you are staying for a week. Perhaps as they continue to ramp back up to full operations there will be more variety. The breakfasts and lunches we had were all delicious and with large portion sizes. The staff everywhere was unfailingly polite, friendly, helpful and professional. We loved the quieter, classier music playing at the pool compared to other hotels we walked by! Also loved having the RC loaner bikes to ride up and down the Boardwalk -- such a fun and scenic way to exercise. We did miss our Peloton bike and hope this property gets one or two in the future in their gym. Two small areas of opportunity-- first the bedding. The sheets are soft and lovely, but because they put on a mattress feather topper, the flat (not fitted) bottom sheet they use is too small and the it kept coming untucked and we'd find our heads or feet on top of the mattress/topper in the middle of the night. They need to either switch to fitted bottom sheets that would hang on or find larger king sheets that will stay tucked. I always dislike the new style of bedding in finer hotels now in which you get a top sheet and a thick, heavy down duvet and no blanket. Especially in a hot Fla climate with the AC on, just the top sheet is too little (get cold) and having the duvet is too hot and heavy. Would love a nice cotton blanket. Second, it would be lovely to have some sort of entertainment on the premises. There is no fine dining restaurant at this hotel, so most people leave the property for dinner. However, it would be so nice if there were a place to sit outdoors and enjoy drinks during Cocktail Hour and hear music like a guitarist or small band. I understand that there are probably restrictions on having singers due to Covid, but even a jazz pianist or other musicians outside at Fuego poolside or in the Lapidus bar area for Happy Hour or for after dinner nightcaps, would be a great benefit to guests and likely draw in other customers. Again, we had a wonderful trip and can't wait to return soon!…
Beautiful hotel but 3 weeks after my prepad trip I was charged for a 2 night room stay. Have called the hotel 4 times and still waiting for my refund. Staff there does not seem to care. I would expect more from a Ritz Carlton.
Every single staff member I have come into contact with during our five night stay here has been friendly and helpful. They are all truly wonderful. It is hard times in the hospitality industry right now, but these professionals carry on with grace. The hotel itself is lovely and, for South Beach, rather low key, which we like. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The pool and beach service is great and the lounge chairs comfortable. Highly recommend!
We've truly enjoyed our day at the beach! Clean and quiet, family friendly atmosphere! Food and drink service is great! Reasonably priced! Louby and Sonny really took care of us! We will definitely be back!
